Chapter 3

The white haired boy ran glancing behind him only to make sure that they hadn't caught up with him yet, he hated being with his owner. The man they called Bakura was mean to him, when he learned his first word, Bakura beat him nearly to death. The poor boy shivered at the memory of it, since then, he'd been silent about his learning to talk, he'd practice when he was positive no one was around. Late into the night, he knew his name, it was Ryou, he knew what a couch, book, chair, floor, whip, hand-cuffs, blood all were, he knew about cuts, bruises, bumps and scrapes, even about the sky, dreams, wishes... He knew a lot for a clone that wasn't allowed to learn, his tone, and movement were still that of a child as he ducked and hid behind a building. He could hear the sounds of his master approaching him, he held his breath, begging his heart to stop beating. "So, we decided to hide have we?", Bakura asked, "What I give you not good enough, little Ryou, hm? We'll just have to use what I put on you this morning then, you remember don't you now?",

A shot of pain rang throughout his body, and he let out a yelp of pain. Then, was grabbed by his hair, and yanked to his feet. "WE DO NOT DISOBEY MASTER, DO WE RYOU?!", Bakura yelled in his ear, "DO WE?!!!!",

"No, Master.", Bakura replied, shaking with fear.

Bakura gave him a few good kicks in the stomach before throwing the poor boy into a truck, which drove Ryou back to his living hell.

Yugi woke bright and early to find Yami was already up, and eager to get going. "Yami go to school with Yugi!", Yami kept repeating as Yugi woke, and got dressed.

"Yes, you do.", Yugi said, still tired.

He and Yami ate breakfast together, and soon, the two were heading off to school, Yami being carefully led by his leash so that Yugi wouldn't get in trouble by any teachers for not having his clone leashed. Yugi walked down the hall until he came to a couple of kids making their clones have sex right in the middle of the hall. "Hey, kid! Ya gonna give us any money today, punk!", one yelled at Yugi.

Yami got between them and growled low and angry. The boy pulled out a knife, and ran at Yugi, "Let's see you're mutt protect you from this!!!!!", the kid yelled at Yugi.

The blade came up, and when Yugi didn't feel anything he looked to see Yami there instead the handle to the knife protruding out of his stomach. "YAMIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!", Yugi cried out.

Seto looked down the hall at who had just yelled, and it was that kid from earlier... His clone lay on the floor now all bloody. He ran over to see what had happened, and felt like vomiting and crying at the same time. "Yami love... Yugi. Yugi no dye if Yami...", the clone's eyes became blank, and he blacked out.

"I can take him to the hospital immediately! Just pick him up, and follow me, quick Yugi!", Seto yelled at him, motioning in the direction he was heading....

Yugi followed with Yami in his arms, huffing as he was scared, and worried....
