Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Common Grounds ❯ The Fourth Musketeer ( Chapter 8 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Mistress: I have an essay coming up and tests are just all deciding to be in the same week(s). SO updates will go slower, I mean as much as I hate school I want to get good grades. I'm planning on going to college in New York and becoming a teacher ( for English, translation), you know teaching English in other countries. After all I am bilingual. And soon I will be learning Japanese( hopefully, mom has yet to fulfill her promise) The house is being moved into pretty smoothly.
Chapter 5 to Slowly Sinking and No One To Save me was edited and I think I'll edit it again.
I have started the second chapter to my unknown story, ( for more info go to my profile and click the first link given )
Oh yeah and I don't believe in Author alerts having a chapter to themselves so I got this chapter up. ALL YUGIOH STORIES WILL NOT BE UPDATED UNTIL THE 30th!
Another thing is concerning THIS story.
YES- Ryou will end up with Bakura
NO-Yumi and Ryou will not end up together
YES-I know their not exactly “themselves” more explanation provided in next chapter
NO-This story will not be discontinued
I think that's all……..
Chapter 8: The Fourth Musketeer
I am surprised to find that I have now waited for thirty minutes and you have yet to show. I sigh and glance at the clock once again. I get up and walk into my kitchen and make some tea. Just as I am about to pour the tea you walk into the kitchen, panting. I smile softly and ask you what's wrong. You apologize for being late and say you had to take the long way today. I say it is no problem although I was getting worried. I carry the tea with me and ask you to take two cups as we settle back into the reading room. I open the book and the spine creaks slightly. Oh don't you just love that sound…
The hall was empty and deserted. Small papers rolling across the hall as the wind swept through. The heat was once again to an unbearable high as the students panted in their seats like dogs. Inside the Math class room two teens looked very confused when Ryou entered smirking despite the heat. As the albino seated himself in the very back next to his friends he asked them to leave an extra space in between himself and Yugi.
“Why so happy on a day like this? On any day, I've never seen you so happy. Any just yesterday you were super miserable. What happened?” Malik questioned turning his chair so that he could face his friend.
Ryou placed a finger to his lips.
“You'll see….trust me, even you will LOVE this,” Ryou said giggling.
Yugi raised his elbows at Malik who shrugged back at him. Both were extremely confused as to where this mood change had come from. Neither boy had the chance to ask the teacher called attention to the front. Ryou's smirk grew even wider.
“Now class, we have a new student, come in,” he said hollering at someone at the door.
The entire class held their breath as she walked in.
“Yumi Moto,” she stated simply glaring at everyone but smirking slightly as she spotted Ryou.
The said boy looked at his friends and couldn't help but burst out laughing at their faces. Both mouths were open and their eyes were wide. Neither could say anything.
“Uhm…yes,” the teacher said nervously as he coughed.
“Small tip for you slow people. I'm not a social person, I hate every single one of you except a few,” she said winking at Ryou, “stay out of my way if you don't want a bloody nose.”
A few students shook in their seats as she walked past and seated herself next to Ryou and Yugi, who was still staring at the spot where Yumi had entered.
“Good enough or did I go too far?” she asked Ryou sweetly.
“Just right,” he said with a smirk.
“No way in hell you're a Moto,” Malik finally managed to sputter out and Yugi nodded.
“Oh I am, just from the better half of the family,” she said winking at Malik.
After getting over the shock Malik held out his hand.
“Malik Ishtar,” he said as Yumi grasped his hand and shook.
“Yumi.”
“I'm Yugi Motou,” Yugi stated giving Yumi a hug.
“Wow our last names sound alike,” Yumi said ruffling the boy's hair.
As the class slowly passed the four got themselves better acquainted and Malik and Yugi, like Ryou, took a quick liking to Yumi. A few minutes before the bell rang a young girl, a cheerleader, walked up to them.
“Uhm…are you a Motou?” she asked her voice cracking.
“The name is Yumi, that's all you need to know,” she snapped back remembering her promise to her brother.
The girl nodded and swiftly ran back to her friends. The entire first half of the day followed this routine. After awhile it started to get annoying and Yumi went as far as threatening someone. As the bell rang to dismiss them to lunch the foursome walked out of their last class laughing.
“That was awesome Yumi! The idiot didn't even know half the things you were saying!” Malik exclaimed as they exited English class.
Ryou and Yugi agreed. Earlier in that class the teacher had decided to pick on Yumi for two reasons: A: she was new and B: she looked like trouble. Boy was he proved wrong. Yumi had done more complicated English in 1ts grade! She had even told him that, in English of course. Just as they reached the grounds Malik excused himself and said he needed to get something from his bike. (Which was most likely stolen) The group walked to the far back of the lot under a tree. The three let themselves drop down on the ground. Yugi took out his lunch and started eating while explaining more about his Grandfathers shop. Just as he was about to say more a shadow came over them. The trio looked up to see Bakura, Marik, and Yami standing there.
“What do you want?” Ryou snapped.
Yugi put down his sandwich and glared at the intruders. Yami cast a look at Yumi, something in his eyes pleading…
“What do you want? You don't usually come say hello to them do you? Leave now, I doubt you have anything to say,” Yumi snapped coldly, as if they had never met.
Yami opened his mouth a fraction before someone rudely shoved him out of the way.
“Move imbecile, someone with a higher IQ coming through,” Malik snapped as Yami toppled backwards to be caught by Marik and Bakura.
There was a tense silence in the air as everyone waited for what was going to happen next. A fight maybe? Yami cast one last glance and gave a small sigh, as if disappointed before leaving as Yumi glared at the three.
“What was that about?” Yugi wondered.
“How should I know, I'm not him. Again, thank the lord and lady for that!” Yumi said getting comfortable again as her brother and friends disappeared back onto their side.
“What did you get?” asked Yugi, who had gone back to eating his sandwich.
Malik grinned and pulled a box out from behind him. It was black. He handed it to Yumi explaining that he had been waiting for someone to give it to. Seeing as Ryou and Yugi already had something similar she had the honor of being the fourth and last. Yumi opened the box to find a black choker made with a velvety substance. It had a plaque hanging from it with enough room for maybe a name. On the back of it was the Japanese symbol for number four.
“Get you name on that and then you will forever be, “officially” one of us,” Malik said grinning.
In his spare time Malik had created necklaces for the three of them and made one extra. Yumi grinned and tied it around her neck before giving Malik a hug.
“Thanxies,” she said grinning.
Lunch ended much too soon for the liking of the four friends. Sadly for them as well the entire day everyone of the teachers had tried to pick on Yumi, who retaliated with her immense intelligence. As the day came to a close Yumi walked outside with her new friends. The three gave her the password to enter their chat room so that they could converse later that night. All in all, her first day at Domino High had proven to be a success.
I look up from the book to find you staring at me with interest. You were so engrossed in the story that you didn't even drink the tea. I point out that it is about to spill all over you and you look down at it and notice that it is very dangerously close to tipping in your hand. I laugh as you quickly gulp it down. You bow and say thank you and with that you are out the door.
