Chapter 7: You're not that bad

I can not help but grin as I wait for you to arrive. You are going to enjoy this chapter. I try to hide my smile as you enter the room but fail miserably. You ask me what I am smiling about; I only hush you and motion for you to sit down. Knowing that there is something good in store for you, you quiet down immediately and sit down, your eyes burning with eagerness…

A normal day in Domino. The sun was still soft enough to look at straight without squinting. The light blush illuminated the mountains and the minimal trees one could see from the city. Even through the pollution if one took a deep breath and closed their eyes you could get a small taste of the oxygen that was left crystal. Over the honking of the horns if one concentrated hard enough one would be able to hear the few birds that still lived around the crowded town chirping. Of course Yumi couldn't hear any of this nor even get the smallest taste of fresh air because something or someone was way too loud and the other…well…we shant go there.

Yumi and Yami had met up with Bakura and Marik sometime after leaving the house. They lived only a few streets apart so they were very soon joined by the obnoxiously loud friends of Yami. Yumi sighed and glared at the three teens in front of her. Had they no respect for others? Bakura and Marik were both situated on either side of the multi- haired jock. She sighed and rolled her eyes yet again trying to concentrate on her surroundings as monotone as they were. If she would've been paying attention to the trio ahead of her she would've noticed them calling her name. Yumi did not notice until Marik stopped right in front of her and waved his fingers in front of her face.

“What?” she snapped as Marik quickly pulled his and back as if afraid to loose it.

“Nothing,” Marik squeaked.

“Have a backbone,” Bakura commented while stepping in front of Yumi.

“What do you want?” Yumi asked calmly.

“How do you like our city so far?” he asked.

Yumi's eye twitched as her fists curled at her sides.

“You stopped me and wasted my precious time to ask me THAT?” Yumi asked through clenched teeth.

Unsure of how to respond Bakura merely nodded. Yumi took a few deep breaths and calmed down while watching her brother make pleading motions behind his friends' back'.

“Until a minute ago it was okay, now it's unbearable. To think they let people like you roam the streets freely,” Yumi snapped glaring at Marik and Bakura.

Yami almost laughed, almost. He never got it out because a glare from his sister made him swallow it.

“Well are we going to ever get to school or not?” Yumi snapped impatiently.

Another minute with these imbeciles and she may have to hurt something or someone. Most likely someone.

“Uhm why haven't you just gone ahead you don't have to wait for us,” Marik stated dumbly.

Yumi resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

“Sure I just moved here a day ago and I know this place like the back of my hand,” Yumi said her urge to hurt the dimwitted boys growing rapidly.

Yami noticing the rabid downward spiral of his sister's demeanor pulled his friends after him as he started walking towards their school.

`Now that's more like it,' Yumi thought with a smug smirk gracing her lips.

By the time they reached the gates of Domino High the sun had already risen to the top of the sky, a glowing light. Yami bid his friends farewell for the moment, telling them he would be joining them as soon as he had safely escorted his sister to the office. The two Moto's walked in tense silence to the office. Yumi had not forgotten the earlier comment and planned to execute her brother's wishes to the fullest. Every time the boy had tried to start a conversation she would end it. The two reached the door to the office and Yami tried once again to speak.

“Uhm…good luck on your first day I guess…and uhm…” Yami mumbled trying to think of something supportive and kind to make up for his rude blunder earlier.

“Tch, and make sure to at least “pretend” we're not related,” Yumi scoffed opening the door and almost slamming it in her brothers face.

Yami sighed and walked back down the halls of the school. He hadn't meant for it to sound so cruel but when it came down to it, that's exactly what it was; cruel. Back inside the office Yumi was already receiving speculating and judgmental stares from her peers and the staff. She walked up to the reception desk and gruffly spat out,

“Yumi Moto, new student.”

Miss Cromer, as her tag stated, was taken aback by the girls behavior and was about to retort but quickly shut her mouth at the look in the others eye. She gulped nervously and stood up.

“Right this way Miss Moto,” she replied her voice only slightly betraying her anxiety.

Yumi smirked in satisfaction having heard the small tremor. The small blond brought Yumi in front a steel door.

“You are to wait here until Ryou Bakura arrives to show you around school,” Miss Cromer said disappearing around the corner as soon as possible.

Yumi shrugged and walked into the room. The decoration was bland and horrible. White walls. Creamy colored wooden table with awful metallic chairs, which had dark green cushions on them, surrounding it. A dry erase board graced the white wall on the far end on the left wall as you entered. And immediately to her left was a small filing cabinet with an awful dead looking plant perched on it. Carefully as not to taint herself with the awful room she seated herself on the edge of the nearest chair. She looked up to find an equally white clock behind her, high on the wall. Counting it only took five minutes before someone appeared at the door.

“Holy shit, are you Ryou?” Yumi sputtered out before she could catch herself.

The boy who looked almost identical to Bakura in appearance scoffed and rolled his eyes.

“No, I'm an alien, yes I am Ryou,” he stated sharply.

Yumi whistled appreciatively eyeing the boys clothes. Today he wore a black choker, silk of course. A white long sleeved collared shirt with a black, white, and red striped tie. He wore loose jeans that had a few holes in them and white Velcro shoes with doodles on them. He also wore black eye liner. Ryou raised an eyebrow.

“Like what you see?” he questioned smugly.

“Definitely like what I see,” she said looking the albino over one more time.

“You must be Yumi Moto, although you sure don't look nor act like him,” Ryou stated raising both eyebrows.

“Yeah I am, and thank the Lord and Lady for that!” Yumi said laughing softly.

Ryou grinned and held out his hand, “Ryou Bakura, outcast, mortal enemy of your brother and them people.”

Yumi's grin matched Ryou's as she shook hands with him, “Yumi Moto, punk and outcast at old school, spits on people like my brother.”

Wasting no time Ryou opened the door and allowed Yumi to step out. Slowly going through Yumi's schedule the two found themselves finding more and more things in common with each other. They both loved Simple Plan, Linkin' Park, Blink 182, etc. Yumi also learned that she had similarities with two of Ryou's other friends. As they ended their tour Ryou once again extended his hand which Yumi shook.

“I believe we shall be good friends, welcome to Domino, Welcome to Hell, Welcome new outcast,” Ryou said.

“Agreed, and thank you,” Yumi said smugly.

The two walked down the hall, having almost identical schedules. Hers only varied slightly but when it did Ryou had noted that one of his two friends would be in the same class with her. As they entered their first class Ryou smirked and turned to Yumi.

“You know, for a Moto, you're not that bad, not that bad.”

I close the book and grin. Did you enjoy it? You nod you head and ask me what will happen next. I grin and put my hand to my lips and whisper “It's a secret”. You pout and try to plead me to read you another chapter, or at least give you a spoiler. Oh but what fun would it be if I ruined the surprise for you? You sigh and walk out the door biding me good bye. You smile as I give you a small hint, next time he two groups will be forced into confrontation. Until the next time we open the book…

AUTHORS BLAH BLAH

Mistress: I screwed up with the narration somewhat. I'm getting sick again and I'm supposed to be in bed waiting to go to school. Oh well. What did you think of the Ryou Yumi action? I liked it. Even though this chapter was hard to write it flowed a bit easier at some points. You might notice that in my writing, if not then WHEW. ^__^ anyway, thank you for reading! Sadly I still lack inspiration for my yu yu stories, gomen.

Were there any major grammar spelling mistakes? I know I had some in the past chapters, well…they were more like typos but that's not the point.
