Crossing Magic

A/N: Here's chapter four of Crossing Magic! Hopefully this one will be as long as the previous one or longer. @.@ I am so bored…isn't it obvious? I think there's going to be some yami/hikari fluff or something in this chapter. You'll see! Please Review!

Yugi smiled softly and brought his pair of wooden chopsticks to his lips. Ron and the other Gryffindors were amazed that they could even eat something with a couple of sticks. He placed the sushi in his mouth and swallowed. He wondered what kind of reaction's he'd get if he told them it was sushi. Did they even know what sushi was? He laughed inwardly, getting an amused laughter back from his yami.

//Aibou, you are just as troublesome as Malik's hikari sometimes.//

Yugi mentally grinned. \\Yeah, I know. Isn't it scary?\\

//Scary as ever…// Yami's presence disappeared from Yugi's soul room to his own.

Yugi simply rolled his eyes, knowing the ancient pharaoh was probably going to sleep or something. He focused back on his surroundings and found everybody but his friends staring at him. A tall man with black hair was standing over him, an eyebrow raised. It was Professor Snape.

"Are you finally back in this world, boy?" Snape's cold voice sent chills down Yugi's spine.

The teen turned around quickly, a frown dancing across his features. "First off, I don't know you. Second, I don't care. Third, my name isn't 'boy'."

Merik howled with laughter while Mai and the others simply smiled and shook their heads. The professor scowled darkly at Yugi. Nobody ever talked to him like that! Seriously-ever.

"FIFTY POINTS FROM GRYFFINDOR!" Groans were heard from the Gryffindors at the table. "Get up boy!"

Yugi stood, gallantly facing the teacher. Snape was about to yell when Merik suddenly stood by Yugi's side, followed by Tristan, Seto, Ryou, and Jou. He stared at the all briefly and then grimaced. He hated teenagers. He was about to scold them and take more points away when Merik pointed something gold at him. His lavender eyes were narrowed in aggravation and anger.

"One sound from you and I'll send you to the darkest place your soul will ever be. You'll rot there for all eternity and suffer unimaginable pain none living have ever seen!" his words were oozing in malice.

Snape took a step back, as white as chalk, and turned; hurriedly walking back to the Staff Table. McGonagall had been waiting for something remarkable to happen with the new students, but she hadn't been expecting that. Really- children who could scare off Serverus Snape? She watched Ishizu stand and add sixty points to Gryffindor, then walking to her younger brother and his friends. She still refused to remove her mask and sat with them, not wanting to stay around the professors any longer. She was tired of getting all the strange stares from the older adults. They pissed her off. She sighed wearily. This was going to be one long year. The Japanese/Egyptian group talked for a bit longer before they were dismissed to the dorms. Ishizu, being a teacher, had her own quarters in another part of the castle. Merik noticed how Ron, Harry, Seamus, and Dean, who shared a dormitory with him and the others, were keeping their distance. He grinned at them, for once in a friendly manner.

"You don't have to worry. You guys are on my good side," he laughed, "I won't hurt you."

Ron seemed less tense and nodded. "Um…can I ask you a question?" seeing the nod to continue he asked. "Why did Yugi…you know, zone out like that?"

Now it was Malik's turn to stress. He stared at them briefly. How was he supposed to explain this? He didn't exactly think it was very wise to tell them the truth. Maybe he should actually take this up with Yugi? He sighed and gazed tiredly at the English wizards.

"I can't tell you. You'll have to ask him. Sorry."

Ron looked crestfallen. "Oh. Alright…"

At that moment the violet-eyed teen darted into the dorm and up to Merik.

"Merik! That guy just gave me detention! All I did was talk in a different language with Ryou!"

The Egyptian growled menacingly, his lavender eyes hardening to a cold lilac. He gripped the Millennium Rod tightly in his left hand. That damned teacher was really in for it now! But, he'd deal with him slowly. Embarrassing and torturing him all year, and in the end; he'd send the bastard to the Shadow Realm. He turned to Yugi, giving the teen a grin promising to kill the black-haired professor.

Yugi looked back cautiously, knowing what his promise was. They just stood there, staring at each other; making Ron nervous. The red head coughed and spoke up.

"Um…mates? You alrigh'?"

Yugi blinked and turned towards him. "Hai…"

Ron gawked at the violet-eyed teenager. "What did you say?"

Merik elbowed Yugi in the ribs gently. "He said yeah. We're fine."

Yugi nodded, trying not to wince from the pain in his side. He gave a watery smile and went to his four-poster bed by the window. He sat down and started to dig through his trunk. Oh yes, they'd start bothering Snape on their first day of class…

A/N: WOO! ^.^; That chapter took me forever to write! I just left it to sit there…for two weeks…O.O;;; Ugh…I can't take it. Spring Break is starting to become really boring! >.<
