Crossing Magic

The rest of breakfast in the Great Hall passed without any other stir of events; well, sort of. The group was shocked as they saw hundreds of birds enter, bringing letters and parcels to their owners, sometimes missing and dropping them in food. Yugi tilted his head as three letters were dropped to him by an exotic platinum and black Egyptian bird. He raised an eyebrow at the papyrus substituting the white paper he was used to. Merik was staring at the bird, which had gracefully landed on Yugi's shoulder. Of course, Merik knew what it was. This bird from Egypt…it was rumored to be the only bird other than the sacred Phoenix that was immortal. This exact one was said to be the pet of the greatest Pharaoh of Egypt-it belonged to Yami. Feeling Yami's sudden fondness of the winged creature, Yugi ran a creamy white hand over the silky black/platinum feathers. A strange warmth spread through his fingers; the violet-eyed teen looked down to see the bird now glowing, a golden aura around it. He raised an eyebrow, then it looked up at him, as if understanding anything.

::You must be My Pharaoh's Light…::

Yugi's eyes widened in surprise. \\Wha-what? Did you just…talk?!\\

The bird actually nodded. :: Yes, my Young Master. I am not really a bird, just a simple Shadow Magician. I am made of the Shadows, enabling me to be anything I please.::

\\Ano…so you know Yami? Wow…\\

::The bird seemed to laugh. ::Yes, Young Master. You should study My Great One more carefully, he loves you.::

Yugi blinked in surprise. \\Yami..loves me?\\

The Shadow Magician nodded, still in the form of a bird. ::More than anything else, ever. It isn't a parents' love of their child like love either. You should read those letters later. It's stuff that will help please My Pharaoh.::

Yugi tilted his head to the side. \\What do you mean "please"?\\

::To keep his heart. Now I must bid you farewell…::

As the creature was about to take off Yugi called to it again. \\Matte! What do I call you?\\

The Shadow Creature seemed to smile again. ::Call me Yana.:: with that it left the castle, heading somewhere unknown.

Seto stared at Yugi for a second. "Did it…talk?"

Yugi blinked and locked gazes with Seto. "Hai. It did…How come you heard it?"

Seto paused. "I don't know."

Shrugging it all off, the leather and black clad gang grabbed their schedules. Mai stared blankly at hers, realizing it wasn't in Japanese.

"NANI?!" Jou shouted angrily.

It seemed only Seto, Mokuba, Rebecca, Merik, Yugi, Ishizu, and Tea could read English. Yugi sighed and rewrote all of the schedules in Japanese, even his own.

Ron stared at Yugi's calligraphy. "What language is that? I mean, you wrote it with a brush!"

Yugi blinked. "Japanese of course! What other language do people know in Japan?"

Ron laughed nervously and glanced at Hermione and Harry. He obviously thought Yugi was making all of this up. Seto just so happened to be the one who noticed.

"Yugi. Let's go outside for a game of Duel Monsters before I let my Blue Eyes out near these British Bakas." (A/N: NO OFFENSE TO ENGLISH PEOPLE! ^_~ )

Yugi let his violet eyes fall on the CEO of the Kaiba Corporation. He noted his glare at the three sitting across from them. The Mutou rolled his eyes.

"Iie. We need to actually go to class for once."

Jou jumped in. "Hai! We barely went in Domino, ne?" A goofy grin adorned his pink lips.

Seto grinned and nodded. "That's right, Puppy."

Jou pouted at the name, then turned towards Tea, seeing she hadn't finished her food. The blonde gave her puppy-dog eyes. The crystal blue-eyed girl just shrugged and handed him her food, watching him eat it in less than a minute. Seto chuckled along with Ryou and Merik. Yugi too found it highly amusing. Out of all of them, Jou was the garbage disposal of the group. He could eat just about anything. One time though, Merik had offered him fried scorpion! Good thing Jonouchi refused to eat it… Yugi shuddered at the memory of the scorpion. Yami had teased his aibou for months after that one. He scanned over his schedule one more time.

"It looks like all of us have…Potions first."

Mokuba and Rebecca shook their heads. "IIE! We have Transfiguration!"

Seto and Yugi nodded at the two, then watched them dash off towards their class so they could be a minute or two early. The Japanese/Egyptian group nodded to each other, heading to Potions class.

When they all reached the dungeons, Draco and his goons were standing there already with the rest of the Slytherins. The blonde smirked at Ryou and Merik. He poked Pansy Parkinson. (A/N: Is that right?)

"Look! They've got to be gay, I mean, look at all the leather they're all wearing! Those two even have long hair!"

Pansy let out a shriek of laughter, followed by the rest of the Slytherins. Seto growled, and Yugi stepped up to Draco gallantly.

"Gay huh? Well, only some of us are actually," a sneer formed on Yugi's lips. "We like to impress the rest of Japan and Egypt, that's all. Now shut the seven hells up asshole."

"That's it porcupine! Let's duel!"
Yugi laughed, voice full of mirth. "Duel? You can't beat me in a duel!"

Draco glared and pointed his wand at Yugi face. The teen snarled and knocked it out of the boy's hand. One hand rested on his black belt, the one that contained his deck.

"Point that elsewhere baka!"

Draco was shocked, but quickly recovered. "What? You don't know how to duel!"

Yugi tilted his head to the side. "Why don't I? I am the Duel Monsters Champion."

The Slytherin stared. "What in bloody hell is Duel Monsters?"

The others all laughed, causing Malfoy to turn bright red. Seto stepped up and pulled out his Blue Eyes White Dragon. He then handed it to Yugi. A light black mist seemed to fill the dungeons, and there before the Mutou stood the real Blue Eyes.

"This is Duel Monsters!"

They were suddenly interrupted when they heard a familiar, evil, voice. "What is going on here?!"

A/N: Wow. Strange chapter huh? I guess this is a cliff hanger. I have to train for Gym Class Fitness Tests. @.@ So Ima' sorry but I couldn't get any fluff out. Gomen! *bows in apology* I didn't mean for this to take so long to post either. *sighs* I also needed to tell you there WILL be Harry/Draco stuff in here.
