Desert Tears. (I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh!)
Long ago, when the pyramids were still young, and the Nile was the source of life, the land was gifted with an incredible pharaoh, his name was Atemu, only is closest friends called him yami. The desert sands glowed gold in his famous and prosperous rule, but his rule was coming to a close and he had produced an heir, and this heir was a girl. The young girl resembled her father, with her golden bangs, her shoulder length black hair with her red shine, her tan skin, her unmistakable crimson eye's and yet she resembled nothing of her deceased mother. Because the heir was a girl, a fiancé was to be found for her, and men from through out the land came to her, but she must be married before her 18th birthday or her father will choose for her.
“Father I do not know why must I get married on such short notice?” Kurai snapped at her father.
“In order for you to take the throne you must have a spouse. I am to uphold the law and so are you.” Atemu responded to his daughter.
“I don't care, that doesn't mean I marry someone I don't love.” With those last words she just ran out of the room and into the hallway.
“Kurai-Chan.”
Kurai ran into the farthest reaches of the palace until she came to the outside gate.
“I can't stand this anymore, I don't want anymore suitors I just want to fall in love the normal way!” Kurai approached the gate door when…
“You know your father won't like it if you run off like this”
“What do you…oh its you Lan. What do you want?
Lan approaches Kurai, being Priest Seth's son he wore the high priest garb, and he approached the angry princess in the moonlight.
Lan approaches Kurai, being Priest Seth's son he wore the high priest garb, and he approached the angry princess in the moonlight.
“If you walk out that door, a lot of trouble will erupt and it will be all your fault.” Lan's blue eyes seemed to pierce Kurai's own crimson eyes and she began to back away, but stopped.
“Well when you're being forced to marry than you can order me what to do!” Kurai raised her hand to slap him, but as quickly as a flash Lan grabbed her hand and twisted it behind her back.
“You can say all you want I won't let you go.”
“Why do you say this? You barely know me and besides I want to go.”
“No you don't. You just want some time alone, to get to know someone.” Lan's words seemed to bring comfort and Kurai eased up a bit.
“Lan, how can you understand me so well?” Kurai was let go and they stared at each other. “When you don't even know what I am going through?”
“Because…we grew up together…and I do know what you're going through.” Lan could do nothing, but stare into her eyes. So much confusion, so much misunderstanding, so much loneliness and yet so much of her father was there as well.
“That is true.” Kurai's dark blue cape shielded her from the cold breeze of the midnight hour, the moon just seemed to light her up and it brought out the blue in Lan's eye's.
“Lan you are not at all like your father.” Lan leaned close to her face.
“No I am not, but not like your mother, but more like your father. Headstrong, power, right choice, but there is one gift your mother did leave behind to you.”
“What gift would that be?” Lan's lips pressed lightly against Kurai's, a warm feeling passed over the both of them and Lan placed his hand on her shoulders and the two shared a kiss.
“Your beauty and right judgment.” Lan walked off. “You will make the right choice when the time comes. Its late a princess needs her beauty sleep.”
“Y-Y-Yeah. Good night Lan.” Kurai began to blush as she went to her room, but she stopped in front of her door.
`What just happened…did he just kiss me? Did I like it? What if he could…no he couldn't be…but the way he kissed me…maybe…It felt so…good when he kissed me…All my worries left my concerns…. Maybe…I don't know…but I am going to get some sleep.'
Kurai entered her bedchamber and changed into her dark red silk nightgown.
`What must happen?” Kurai looked into her mirror, only to see a beautiful maiden, and a pharaoh, but she saw Herself on the throne. “What will be my future
With those last words Kurai jumped into bed and blew out the candle.
“Lan…help me.”
As she stared into her wall, her eyelids slowly closed and she drifted into a slumber.
