The next morning

 

 

Ryuke: “Yes! It's Saturday, that means no school! And non-stop dueling!”

 

He looked at his card deck, and remembered what happened yesterday.

 

 

 

Flashback

 

 

Leon: “I summon, Groundshaker!”

 

Ryuke: “No, I can't win now.” He was on his knees. “I give up, you win.”

 

Leon: “I knew you'd come to your senses.”

 

 

End of flashback

 

 

He was still upset about that.

 

Ryuke: “Damn, why did I surrender? I never chicken out like that.”

 

His phone rang. “Hello?”

 

Rikku: “Hey, What's up?”

 

Ryuke: “Oh, Rikku. Nothing, I'm still a little down about yesterday.”

 

Rikku: “Well, How about you and I duel?”

 

Ryuke: “What? No offence but, you know you can't beat me in a duel.”

 

Rikku: “I know, but I just want to cheer you up.”

 

Ryuke: “Thanks, Rikku.”

 

Rikku: “Meet me at the park; we can have the duel there.”

 

Ryuke: “Okay, see ya.”

 

Then they hung up.

 

 

At the park, Rikku was waiting for Ryuke, and she was daydreaming about him.

 

Rikku: “Oh, Ryuke. I love you.”

 

Ryuke: “I love you too, Rikku.”

 

 

They were about to kiss…until,

 

Ryuke: “Uh, Rikku?”

 

Rikku snapped out of it, and panicked.

 

Rikku: “Oh…uh…Ryuke, I didn't see you there... Nice weather we're having! Heh, heh, heh.”

 

Ryuke: “Riiiiiiight. Anyway, didn't you want to duel?”

 

Rikku: “Oh, right. I hope you're ready.”

 

Ryuke: “Always. Why don't you start off?”

 

Rikku: “Okay! I summon, Aerial Knocker!” [HP was 133, STR was 62]

 

Ryuke: “Good start.” He drew a card. “But I'm better. I summon, Assault Rider!” [HP was 435, STR was 87] “Assault Rider, attack!”

 

Aerial Knocker's HP was reduced to 46.

 

Rikku: “Hmm. I summon, Aeroplane!” [HP was 181, STR was 87] “Attack his Assault Rider!”

 

Assault Rider's HP was reduced to 286.

 

Ryuke: “That's just what I'd expect from Rikku. She is good with flying-type Heartless.” “I summon, Creeper Plant!” [HP was 181, STR was 87] “Attack, Aeroplane!”

 

Aeroplane's HP was reduced to 7.

 

Rikku: “Yikes that was close. Now I summon, Crimson Jazz!” [HP was 240, STR was 70] “Attack his Creeper Plant!”

 

All three Heartless reduced Creeper Plant's HP to 0, and Creeper Plant disappeared.

 

Ryuke: “Hey, pretty good. You never were able to take out any of my Heartless.”

 

Rikku's heart just flew into heaven.

 

Rikku: “Oh, that's what I love about him. When we duel, he never takes it hard.”

 

Ryuke: “I summon, Living Bone!” [HP was 453, STR was 87] “Attack, Aerial Knocker!”

 

Living Bone reduced Aerial Knocker's HP to 0, and it disappeared.

 

Ryuke: “Assault Rider, attack Crimson Jazz!”

 

Crimson Jazz's HP was reduced to 153.

 

Rikku drew a card. “Okay, I summon Surveillance Robot!” [HP was 127, STR was 87] “Now I activate his special ability! When Surveillance Robot is on the field, I get to summon, Armored Knight!” [HP was 90, STR was 87] “Attack, Assault Rider!”

 

Assault Rider's HP was reduced to 42.

 

Ryuke: “I summon, Bolt Tower!” [HP was 181, STR was 87] “Now, attack Armored Knight!”

 

Rikku: “Block!”

 

Armored Knight deflected Living Bone, and Assault Rider's attacks, but then Bolt tower attacked and zapped its HP to 3.

 

Ryuke: “Hmm, I forgot about `Block'. That deflects any physical attack, but it couldn't guard Bolt Tower's thunder attack.”

 

Rikku: “That was close. This is too good to be true; I've never gotten this far on him. Is he letting me win, or is he just seeing how far I can go?”

 

Rikku drew a card. “Now, I sacrifice Crimson Jazz, Surveillance Robot, and Armored Knight, to summon Grim Reaper!” [HP was 790, STR was 35]

 

Ryuke: “Hmm, nice.”

 

Rikku: “Now, attack Assault Rider with `Sweep Away'!”

 

Grim Reaper swung its scythe at Assault Rider, and reduced its HP to 7.

 

Ryuke: “You're doing very well! But, I'm afraid I'm going to have to end it now.” He drew a card. “I summon, Gargoyle Knight! Now that he's on the field, I can summon Gargoyle Warrior! And now, attack Grim Reaper!”

 

All five attacks reduced Grim Reaper's HP to 355.

 

Rikku: “Oh man! One more combo like that and it's all over! I need to act fast!” “I summon, Fortuneteller!” [HP was 181, STR was 87] “Fortuneteller, attack Assault Rider with `Ice-Pierce'!”

 

Fortuneteller threw an ice crystal at Assault Rider, and reduced its HP to 0. Assault Rider disappeared.

 

Ryuke: “I can fix this. I summon, Morning Star!” [HP was 453, STR was 87]

 

Rikku: “Oh, damn!”

 

Ryuke: “Now, my Heartless, attack Grim Reaper!”

 

Grim Reaper's HP was reduced all the way to 0, and it disappeared. Then all the Heartless vanished.

 

Ryuke: “Yeah! I won, you did great to Rikku!”

 

Rikku: “I lost again, but I don't care. As long as Ryuke's happy, I'm happy, no matter how many times I lose.”

 

Ryuke walked over to Rikku. “You're right, I do feel better. You really did great, Rikku.”

 

Then, a man in a black suit appeared beside them.

 

Man in black: “That was the most interesting duel I ever saw. If you can beat you're opponent without a Boss level Heartless, you're just what the tournament needs.”
