Battle Stage 35: Confrontation! Requiem for Falling Angels

The group assembled a few paces behind Yuugi as the two shuffled each others decks handing them back as the holographic coin was tossed. Yuugi won and Keith smiled, “I've been waiting for this for so long… let's duel!”

Yuugi Mutou LP: 8000

`Bandit' Keith Howard LP: 8000

::Yuugi::

“I draw;

1. I summon Breaker the Magicial Warrior (Dark/Spellcaster/Effect/4 ATK/1600 DEF/1000) in attack mode;

2. It's special ability places a Spell Counter on Breaker to increase its attack three hundred points (ATK/1900) when its normal summoned;

3. I play two cards face down and end my turn.”

::Keith::

“I draw;

1. By activating it's special ability I can summon Cyber Dragon (Light/Machine/Effect/5 ATK/2100 DEF/1600) in attack mode;

2. I play two cards face down and end my turn.”

::Yuugi::

“I draw…”

“Another choice, isn't it Yuugi?” Keith taunted, Yuugi growled, “Shut up Keith, keep out of my conversations ok?”

The group looked between each other with Jyoonouchi finally voicing their thoughts, “Ok, you've completely lost us, who's conversation?”

“Don't ask Jyoonouchi, I'll explain, eventually…” Yuugi responded returning his attention to Keith, “You're working for him aren't you?”

Keith laughed, “It's obvious isn't it, you've made your choice and I've been sent to explain the error of your ways.”

The words sent a cold bolt through Yuugi's body, his eyes ever so slightly drifted towards his friends, a twinge of darkness crept in as his gaze returned to Keith, “Don't you dare, come after me don't do it through my friends.”

Keith laughed again, “Why not, doesn't it hurt more, if we kill you its over, if we kill everyone you care about you'll suffer twice as much and finish the job for us.”

“Sick bastard.” Anzu spat glaring a hole through him as Yuugi resumed his turn.

1. “I play one card face-down and end my turn.”

::Keith::

“That's it, you piece of shit, I draw;

1. I activate my face down card Mind Control (Spell) this card takes control of your Breaker the Magicial Warrior until the end of the turn;

2. Cyber Dragon attack!”

“Not yet, Spellbinding Circle (Continuous/Trap) when this card is activated your monster cannot change battle position or attack while its active.”

Cyber Dragon's attack inflicted 2100 points of direct damage to the opponent.

::Yuugi::

“I draw;

1. My Breaker the Magical Warrior returns to my side of the field;

2. I sacrifice it to summon Cybernetic Magician (Light/Spellcaster/Effect/6 ATK/2400 DEF/1000) in attack mode;

3. I play one card face down;

4. Cybernetic Magician attack!”

Cybernetic Magician's attack destroyed Cyber Dragon.

::Keith::

“I draw;

1. I summon Reflect Bounder (Light/Machine/Effect/4 ATK/1700 DEF/1000) in attack mode;

2. I play two cards face down.”

Jyoonouchi's brow furrowed, “Hell, Yuugi watch…”

“Jyoonouchi!” Yuugi snapped shaking his head, Jou fell silent sheepishly, Kaiba glared, “Baka mutt, Yuugi isn't you, he doesn't require your coaching.”

Jyoonouchi returned his glare with a four letter expletive starting with F before forming an actual response, “You want Yuugi to lose don't you?”

Kaiba laughed, “You've taken too many blows to the head mutt, the only person Yuugi is allowed to lose too, is me.”

“Right…”

Yuugi to his friends, “Hey, can you two shut up, I'm duelling, you can out urinate each other later.”

Anzu shook her head, “Yuugi…” His eyes darted to her momentarily, “What?”

“Are we going to finish this?” Keith barked, Yuugi turned his Amethyst charcoal hued eyes back to Bandit Keith, “Of course.”

::Yuugi::

“I draw;

1. I switch Cybernetic Magician to defence mode;

2. I summon a monster in face down defence mode;

3. I activate Zero Gravity (Trap) to switch your Reflect Bounder to defence mode and my monsters to attack mode;

4. Which summons my Skilled White Magician (Light/Spellcaster/Effect/4 ATK/1700 DEF/1900) in attack mode from its face down position;

5. Skilled White Magician attack Reflect Bounder;

6. Cybernetic Magician attack!”

Skilled White Magician's attack destroyed Reflect Bounder; Cybernetic Magician's attack inflicted 2400 points of direct damage to the opponent.

Yuugi Mutou LP: 5900

Bandit Keith Howard LP: 5300

“Yeah! Nice move Yug!” Jou yelled punching the air with his fist, Yuugi smirked, “That was an amateur mistake, Reflect Bounder's effect only works when its in attack mode, I guess its just your bad planning, isn't it?”

Keith scowled clenching his fist, “Lucky break, my move.”

::Keith::

“I draw;

1. I summon Drillago (Dark/Machine/Effect/4 ATk/1600 DEF/1100) in attack mode;

2. I play 7 Completed (Equip/Spell) to increase its attack and defence seven hundred points (ATK/2300 DEF/1800).”

Keith tugged at his sleeve and smirked, 3. “Look at this, another 7 Completed (Equip/Spell) increasing my monsters attack and defence another seven hundred points (ATK/3000 DEF/2500);

4. Drillago's effect allows it to attack directly when you have only monsters with more than sixteen hundred attack points;

5. Drillago attack!”

“I activate Spellbinding Circle (Continuous/Trap) as long as this card is face up on the field your monster cannot attack or change battle positions.”

Drillago inflicted 3000 points of direct damage to the opponent.

Bandit Keith Howard LP: 5300

Yuugi Mutou LP: 2900

::Yuugi::

“I draw;

1. I play Tribute Doll (Spell) and send Skilled White Magician to the graveyard;

2. To special summon Dark Magician (Dark/Spellcaster/7 ATK/2500 DEF/2100) in attack mode;

3. I equip Tomb of Magic's (Equip/Spell) to Dark Magician to increase its attack seven hundred points (ATK/3200);

4. I summon Obnoxious Celtic Guard (Earth/Warrior/Effect/4 ATK/1400 DEF/1200) in defence mode;

5. Your move bleach boy.”

::Keith::

“You can talk, I draw;

1. Ha, you thought you'd escaped my Drillago's wrath, Remove Trap (Spell) destroys your Spellbinding Circle!”

Keith tugged at his other cuff discreetly, 2. “More bad news Yuugi, I've got my other 7 Completed (Spell) to increase my Drillago's attack another seven hundred points (ATK/3700);

3. You lose, Drillago attack!”

“No, you lose, reveal my face down card, Magic Effect Arrow (Spell) which destroys all your face down-up Spell cards inflicting five hundred points of direct damage per card destroyed.”

“My Drillago (ATK/1600)! You son of a bitch!” Bandit Keith screamed watching a smirking Yuugi's monsters carve up his Drillago.

Drillago's attack failed; Dark Magician's attack destroyed Drillago.

Yuugi Mutou LP: 2900

Bandit Keith Howard LP: 2200

The group, well five out of six cheered Yuugi's move, Yuugi however had a grave expression directed at Keith, “You're a cheat and a liar, today being no different…”

“What are you talking about?!” Keith yelled, the group falling silent behind Yuugi as he responded, “You pulled those equip cards from your cuffs, a trick you pulled in Duellist Kingdom betrays your true nature here and recent experiences have taught me harsh lessons about the nature of man. Your actions haven't improved my opinion of humanity and your cheating hasn't paid off, has it?”

“Just go you shit!” Keith yelled furiously.

::Yuugi::

“Very well, I draw;

1. Dark Magician attack!”

“I think we'll continue for a while longer, I activate Mirror Force (Trap) which negates your attack and destroys your attack monsters.”

::Keith::

“I draw;

1. I summon Mechanicalchaser (Earth/Machine/4 ATK/1850 DEF/800) in attack mode;

2. This monster cancels out your monsters effect, Mechanicalchaser attack!”

Mechanicalchaser's attack destroyed Obnoxious Celtic Guard.

Keith sneered, “Next turn, your ass is mine.”

“Sorry, not without dinner first.” Yuugi replied with a smirk, a disgusted expression crossing Keith's face.

::Yuugi::

“I draw;

1. I summon King's Knight (Light/Warrior/Effect/4 ATk/1600 DEF/1400) in defence mode;

2. I end my turn.”

::Keith::

“I draw;

1. I play Polymerization (Spell);

2. To fuse Cyber Dragon (Light/Machine/Effect/6 ATK/2100 DEF/1600) with another Cyber Dragon from my hand;

3. To summon Cyber Twin Dragon (Light/Machine/Fusion/Effect/8 ATK/2800 DEF/2100) in attack mode;

4. Cyber Twin Dragon attack King's Knight;

5. Cyber Twin Dragon, Mechanicalchaser attack!”

“Reveal face down card Magic Cylinder;

1. Magic Cylinder (Trap) reverses Mechanicalchaser's attack onto you!”

Cyber Twin Dragon's attack destroys King's Knight; Cyber Twin Dragon's attack inflicted 2800 points of direct damage to the opponent.

::Yuugi::

“Well, now it's on, I draw;

1. I play Monster Reborn (Spell) to return King's Knight to the field in attack mode;

2. I sacrifice King's Knight to summon Dark Magician Girl (Dark/Spellcaster/Effect/6 ATK/2000 DEF/1700) in attack mode;

3. I also play Monster Reincarnation (Spell) and discard a card from my hand to return a monster from my graveyard to my hand;

4. I play Sage's Stone (Spell) I can activate this card when Dark Magician Girl is on the field, I can now summon Dark Magician (Dark/Spellcaster/7 ATK/2500 DEF/2100) in attack mode;

5. Finally I sacrifice Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl;

6. To summon Sorcerer of Dark Magic (Dark/Spellcaster/Effect/9 ATK/3200 DEF/2800) in attack mode;

7. Sorcerer of Dark Magic attack Mechanicalchaser!”

Sorcerer of Dark Magic's attack destroyed Mechanicalchaser.

As Sorcerer of Dark Magic smashed Mechancialchaser Keith stared into Yuugi's charcoal laden eyes and was rocked on his heals, “You played the game and you lost, remember this if you ever consider darkening my path again and walk the other way.”

Yuugi Mutou LP: 100

Bandit Keith Howard LP: 0

As the group gathered around Yuugi Keith clenched his fists a vicious scowl crossing his lips, “You shit, trying to embarrass me, I'm Bandit Keith no one embarrasses me!” He spat reaching in his jacket.

The group had gathered around Yuugi, congratulating him, the discussion was turning to their next move just as quickly. While they talked Anzu glanced back to find a sheathing Bandit Keith stalking towards them. Anzu only had a flash of gun steel as a warning before Keith screamed, “DIE FUCKER DIE!”

“YUUGI!!” Ansu screamed as Keith tore the gun from his jacket, opening fire at Yuugi. He managed to pull off three shots before realizing he hadn't quite hit his intended target.

Anzu Mazaki staggered backwards clutching her blood soaked chest, collapsing into her Yuugi's arms. Unable to completely hold her weight Yuugi fell to his knees wrapping a gasping Anzu in his arms, “Anzu, Anzu, speak to me… you'll be ok… hang on!”

Anzu coughed blood gasping rapidly for breath holding onto Yuugi, “S-s-so I have t-to get sh-ot for you to hold me…” Anzu joked gasping continually, “Yuugi smiled trying to hide the tears, “You know me, I'm a tough sell…” Yuugi replied, Anzu attempted to laugh but screamed in pain coughing up even more blood from her lungs.

“Fuck, I won't miss this time!” Keith swore grasping for replacement bullets. As quickly as he inserted the bullets into the breech Jyoonouchi and Seto lunged forward, Seto discharged a card from his fingers which impaled Keith's gun hand forcing him to drop the weapon as Jyoonouchi laid Bandit Keith out leaping on him, “YOU SON OF A BITCH!!” He screamed pummelling Keith with his fists. Seto grabbed Jou around the shoulders wrenching him off the fallen Keith throwing him to the ground. The gun was knocked towards Yuugi and the declining Anzu.

The weeping Yuugi cradled Anzu's broken body in his arms the blood soaking his clothes, “Anzu, I, you can't die… I love you, I love you with all my heart and soul, I've been so stupid not admitting it before now, I love you!”

Tears welled in Anzu's eyes hearing those words leave Yuugi's lips, with all her strength Anzu pulled herself up, “I, I, lo-ve you too…” She whispered pressing her lips against his, Yuugi closed his eyese embracing this moment of bliss until he realized Anzu was slack in his arms.

Yuugi closed his eyes, he could hear the pounding of his heart in his ears. Laying Anzu's body on the ground he rose to his feet, his eyes devoid of the life that had once enticed the women in his life. Retrieving the abandoned gun Yuugi marched with purpose towards the fallen Keith. Placing his foot on Keith's chest he stood aiming the gun at Keith's head, Keith laughed, “You shoot, you're too much of a fucking wimp, what would she say?”

Yuugi's eyes narrowed, “She's dead, the best part of me with her, no one else will die because I don't have the balls to make the tough decisions. Take this message to your boss, the next one is for him.”

The gun blast echoed through the area, his eyes akin to gunsteel, cold and indifferent. A charcoal hue laced Yuugi's Amethyst orbs, the hatred smouldered like smoke from the now still barrel as Yuugi let his arm drop to his side.
