Okay, here we go!!!}

Bakura watched his hikari, Ryou, make them some food. Ryou was a great chef, that was true, but Bakura hated the fact that his hikari did such female things as cook. Part of it, he knew, was because Ryou's mother was long dead, and someone needed to cook for the boy, and his father, when the man was home. Bakura had been going with his training and punishing Ryou for the slightest things. He said it was to toughen Ryou up, but he wasn't so sure of that himself.
He had learned the last time he'd tried attacking his hikari in the kitchen that Ryou and knivies were not a good combination to be had, and Ryou always kept a knife near him while he was in the kitchen. After getting sliced in the arm for trying to terrorize Ryou while he was waiting for the oven to be done, Bakura kept away from Ryou and his knivies. Just because Ryou looked weak, didn't mean that the boy couldn't defend himself with the proper means.
"Ryou, when's that gonna be done?" Bakura called from the kitchen doorway.
A timer went off. "Now." Ryou replied before shutting off both the buzzer and the oven. He pulled out their food and started placing it on plates. "Not even dad's ever this happy to eat." Ryou grumbled.
"Watch it." Bakura returned harshly.
Ryou flinched. "Sorry..." He mumbled towards the food.
Bakura quickly felt regret for his harshness, but knew he couldn't go comfort the boy, so walked out to the dining room instead. He sat down at his seat and waited quietly for Ryou to compose himself and come out with the food. Despite how female cooking was, Ryou did it well. Although Bakura used it as an excuse to beat his hikari, he was secretly proud of the boy. But, back in Egypt, no one had ever shown him any real kindness, except maybe Yii and Sethe, or Seto. Malik never had because they'd never spoken, except for the time just before they stormed the palace. Baba had only known that Bakura existed as a contact, never as a person, not even a name.
"Lunch is served." Ryou offered, placing a plate before Bakura and walking around the table to his place of the other side.
Ryou watched Bakura start eating. His yami was always cruel to him, except when he was eating, or thought Ryou was asleep. Ryou had stayed awake one night a while back, when Bakura had first come, and had been shocked to find that, instead of anger and hatred in Bakura's voice and body, he'd found love and kindness. Once Ryou had learned to feel for his yami's emotions, when Bakura let his guard down, he constently found sadness and pain. He'd quickly learned to love his yami, forgiving his violence before the man even started.
For instance, right then, Ryou could tell Bakura was loving the food on his plate. Ryou knew that Bakura was proud of him, he just didn't know why Bakura couldn't show it. He regreted slicing Bakura when the other had tried attacking him in the kitchen the first time, but he really had needed to watch their food, and having Bakura beat him up so bad that he couldn't watch the food might have resulted in a house fire, or worse. Since then, the kitchen had become a safe haven for Ryou. Bakura wouldn't bother him while he cooked, but he also wouldn't let his hikari into the kitchen any other time.
"I'm done." Bakura informed Ryou. Ryou, luckly enough, had finished most of his food.
Ryou stood and collected the plates, then took them into the kitchen and placed them by the sink. He would have time to clean them later, and Bakura was looking grumpy, not to mention bored. When he did that, he'd stop at nothing to give Ryou a beating.
Someone knocked on the door. Ryou let out a sigh of relief. "I'm getting it!" Bakura shouted.
Bakura pulled open the door, then let out a strangled cry. "Yii!" He turned to slam the door, but Yami put out his foot, stopping the door.
"Bakura, how have you been? What are you up to? Mind if I come in?" Yami smiled lightly.
Ryou looked out. "What's wrong, Bakura?" He asked innocently. While he was at home, he rarely wore long sleeves, since he saw no point in hiding his wounds from the one who made them.
"Get back in the kitchen!" Bakura hissed. Ryou fled.
Yami had seen too much, though. "Bakura, I'm ashamed at you, beating on an innocent." He said, his voice empty. "I never thought I'd see this day, but, you are out of control."
"He told me that, too." Sethe grinned at Bakura. "Long time no see, eh, Bakura?"
"Get out of my house!" Bakura shouted.
"No." Yami moved swiftly to press Bakura against the wall. Sethe, Kaiba, and Yuugi came in, closing the door behind them. Yuugi hurried off to find Ryou. "Never order me around." Yami hissed, the third eye on his forehead lighting up.
"No! Don't hurt Bakura!" Ryou cried. Yuugi had found him. "Please, let him down."
Yami looked at Ryou strangely. "Bakura has beaten you, yet you do not want him hurt in return?" He asked, his voice totally serious.
"He doesn't mean it! Please, you can't hurt him." Ryou looked about ready to cry.
Yami let Bakura down. "Well? What do you have to say, Bakura?"
"Whimp." Bakura mumbled. "Yii wasn't going to hurt me. We're friends."
"Yami." Yami corrected. "I'm called Yami now, you moron."
"Whatever." Bakura brushed past Yami to look at Sethe and Kaiba. "And what the hell am I supposed to call you two?" He asked them.
"Sethe and Kaiba." Yuugi said.
Bakura looked at him. "Mutou Yuugi. I guess you're Yami's hikari, then."
"Hikari?" Yuugi looked confused.
"I haven't exactly used that term yet, but, yes. Yuugi is my hikari." Yami said from behind Bakura.
"It also took him forever to tell Yuugi who he really was in Egypt, not to mention what's going on." Sethe chuckled.
"Shut it." Yami grumbled.
"So, anyone run into Malik, yet?" Bakura asked quietly.
"Is Yami still alive?" Sethe asked lightly.
Bakura grinned. "Neither have I."
"Oh, great." Yami rolled his eyes. "We don't even know if he's out yet!"
"He probably is." Bakura pointed out.
"And he's probably trying to find you." Sethe added darkly.
Yuugi ran over to Yami and hid his face in Yami's chest. "No!" He cried.
Yami sighed and hugged his hikari. "Sethe, now you've scared Yuugi. Watch your mouth."
"Sorry..." Sethe scratched the back of his head. "It is true, though."
"Well, he's not in Japan." Bakura grumbled. "I've been watching for him."
"Why?" Ryou asked.
"Because he's the only one that could threaten any of us." Bakura explained.
Yami grinned. "You mean, he's the only one that could be a threat to you or Ryou."
"Oh, can it, Pharaoh." Bakura returned.
"That's what I thought." Yami chuckled. "And if you hit me, I'll knock you out cold." He added.
Bakura growled at Yami. "You haven't changed a bit."
"I wouldn't say that." Sethe shrugged. "It takes more to make him angry, and now he can hide in the Puzzle, instead of crying in front of the rest of us."
"Seto!" Yami glared at his friend. "I do not cry!"
"Nope. He mopes." Kaiba smiled.
"Ugh... Why me? Ra, why me?!" Yami groaned. Everyone else laughed.
"Uhm, I kinda promised otosan I'd be home shortly..." Yuugi mumbled.
"He's right. We should head home shortly." Yami nodded.
"I'll call my car." Kaiba mumbled, pulling out his cell phone.
"How many of those things do you have?!" Sethe cried. Kaiba just grinned.
Yami met Bakura's eyes. "If I find out you're beating Ryou anymore, I'm punishing you, my way. Is that understood, Bakura?" Yami asked calmly.
Bakura bowed. "Yes, sire."
"Good." Yami smiled. "We'll, hopefully, see you a school tomorrow, Ryou."
"Yami enrolled." Yuugi explained to the other hikari.
Ryou smiled and looked at Bakura. "That's not a bad idea."
"Oh, no you don't! I'm not going to your little school, Ryou! Not a chance!" Bakura shouted.
Yami grinned as he followed the others out to door. "See you at school tomorrow, Bakura." Then he closed the door behind him.
Bakura groaned. "The gods must hate me."
"Oh, stop!" Ryou hurried back towards to kitchen. "You complain too much!"
"Ryou!" Bakura chased his hikari, all in fun, this time.

~~^*With Yami & Sethe*^~~
The limo pulled up to the curb in front of the Mutou residence quietly. Mokuba had been sent home while the group had been speaking with Ryou and Bakura, so it was only four people who got out of the car. Holding to his earlier promise, Kaiba was coming in with Yami and Yuugi to meet Yuugi's father. Sethe insited on meeting his new friend's father as well, so had come out.
"I'll call when I'm ready for you to pick me up." Kaiba told the driver. The man nodded and the limo left them.
"Yuugi!" Anzu waved from where she lived across the street, then walked over. "Oh, hello, Yami, Kaiba, uh..." She looked confused when she saw the twins that both looked like Kaiba.
"This is my twin brother, Sethe." Kaiba growled. "He got here this afternoon. I left school early to go meet him at the airport."
"Oh..." Anzu still looked confused.
"Well, I'll see you at school tomorrow, Anzu. I gotta get inside, and otosan wants to meet Kaiba." Yuugi smiled at the girl, then headed up to the house.
Yami nodded to Anzu as Kaiba and Sethe gladly followed Yuugi. "I will see you at school tomorrow, Anzu." Then he turned and followed his hikari, best friend, and the CEO.
Anzu had a dreamy look on her face. "Yeah... Tomorrow..." She turned and walked back to her house. "Damn, but he's hot!"
Yuugi pushed open the door. "I'm home!" He called, letting his friends in behind him.
No sound came from the rest of the house. Yami frowned when he entered. "Asa!" He called.
Sethe got into a fighting position. "Yami, I don't like this..." He mumbled.
"Neither do I." Yami replied. He nodded to Sethe, Yuugi, and Kaiba. "Stay here." He turned and started towards the kitchen. The third eye on his forehead lit up.
A knife came flying at the Pharaoh from the kitchen. A magical barrier flared around Yami, shattering the knife. The man that threw the knife backed up against the wall. "How'd you do that?" He asked.
"Asa?!" Yami narrowed his eyes. "Of course. The Rod can control other's minds." Yami held up a hand and aimed it at Asa. "Break his control!" He shouted. There was a flash, then Asa fainted, his mind his own.
Sethe, Yuugi, and Kaiba came running in. "Otosan!" Yuugi cried before running over to the man's side.
"Whatever it was, it's gone now." Sethe mumbled.
"Malik." Yami mumbled before walking over to Yuugi. "He'll be fine, Yuugi. He should wake up soon."
"What happened?" Yuugi asked Yami tearfully.
"Malik's made his appearance." Yami grumbled. "The Sennen Rod, the Item I foolishly placed him in, has the ability to control the minds of others around him, no matter how far the distance. He was trying to use Asa to kill me."
Asa moaned and his eyes fluttered open. Yuugi helped him sit up. "Yuugi-chan? Yami? When did you two get home?" He asked.
"A couple minutes ago, otosan." Yuugi whispered sadly.
Asa narrowed his eyes. "Okay, what did I miss? And why do I have such a fucking headache?"
"Malik was trying to kill Yami." Sethe growled from behind the Pharaoh. "I'm Sethe, High Priest Seto in Egypt. Kaiba is my reincarnation, but we can both be out and about at the same time." He explained.
"Who is Malik?" Asa asked.
"One of the others I trapped in an Item. He promised to kill me if we ever met again. His Item, the Sennen Rod, has the power to control the minds of others." Yami explained.
Asa pulled himself to his feet. "I have this sinking feeling I was who he used to get you."
"Malik's an idiot. He didn't consider the fact that I might be with Yami and that we might sense the danger." Sethe's eyes flashed. "He didn't think Yami would be able to protect himself, either."
"Neither did you." Kaiba pointed out. "You had to test him."
Sethe rolled his eyes. "And almost got killed for it."
"You could have waited until we visited Bakura's." Yami pointed out. "I had every intention of crushing his little brain to a pulp..." He groaned. "Oh, never mind."
"You were actually going to kill him?" Kaiba asked, surprised.
"Yes." Yami met the CEO's eyes darkly. "I don't like it when I find people beating on those weaker than themselves."
Asa shivered. "Yeah, really. You're spooky when you're mad."
"Tell me about it." Sethe shrugged. "So, Yami, do you kill people for pissing you off?"
"Depends." Yami grinned.
"I'm going to shut up now..." Sethe grumbled.
"Good idea." Kaiba elbowed his twin.
"I was making dinner, I think..." Asa walked over to the stove and groaned at the smell of burned something. "Damnit. Told ya I can't cook."
Yami grinned. "Or so I can see."
"He only makes good Mac & Cheese cause it's already mostly prepared." Yuugi told his friends.
Sethe and Yami grinned while Seto chuckled. Asa looked at the CEO strangely. "Kaiba Seto, huh? You're nothing like what I expected."
"He tends to lighten up when he's around people he likes." Sethe told the man. "Other than that, he's a real ass."
"No joke." Yami grumbled.
"Hey!" Kaiba glared at the two. "Are you two gonna gang up on me now?" The two whistled innocently. "Argh!"
Sethe grinned and hugged his twin. "Lighten up, Kaiba. We tease each other, and you know it." He thought for a second. "For that matter, the only people we haven't yet ganged up on are Ryou, Mokuba, and Yuugi."
"Don't push your luck, Sethe." Kaiba suggested. "Yami and Bakura'll probably kill you if you try teasing their hikaris. As for Mokuba, you don't really want to live with an ass like me when I'm mad at you."
"Point taken." Sethe smiled at Yami, who had pursed his lips. "What's up, Yami?"
"How'd he find me?" Yami grumbled.
Sethe frowned. "Probably traced your magical aura, like I did. You're the most powerful sorceror around, Yami. If one of us really wants to find you, we don't have to search very hard."
"You're all connected, because Yami placed you in your Items." Yuugi mumbled.
Yami blinked at his hikari. "Yeah, I guess so..." He sighed. "Then their wasn't much of a point in using a different name."
"Malik's the only one that can trace you." Asa pointed out. "Any other people he may have under his control won't know that you've changed your name. He'll have to do the tracing himself. The only thing he's really achived so far is figuring out where you live."
Yami shook his head. "Which is not a good thing, trust me. All he has to do now, is come to this house and we're all dead. I can't keep watch all night." He hung his head. "I'm a danger to us all."
"Can I smack him?" Sethe asked innocently. Yuugi and Kaiba nodded, so Sethe smacked the back of Yami's head again. "Yami, look at me." Yami glanced up. "As of, you're the only hope we have against Malik, and you know it. Bakura and I might be able to take him on together, but we don't have the chance you do. You're the only one with the key to the Sennen Rod. You're the only one who can control it's power."
"Stay with Mokuba and me for a while." Kaiba suggested suddenly. "My mansion is guarded twenty-four seven, and I know Mokuba would love to have you guys."
"Malik can still get through." Yami grumbled.
"I'm going to smack you again." Sethe threatened.
"He doesn't have as good a chance. I'll put my men on alert. If they see anything suspicious, they'll call me on my cell and I'll alert you and Sethe." Kaiba cut in, mostly to keep both Pharaoh and High Priest in one piece.
"And we'll have a real dinner!" Yuugi added.
Asa groaned. "Leave my cooking out of this!"
Yuugi, Asa, and Kaiba laughed while Sethe and Yami continued to glare at each other. Suddenly, Yami sighed. "Agreed. Thank you for your hospitality, Kaiba." He mumbled, looking away from his friend. "Yuugi, Asa, you two need to pack."
"I'll call my car." Kaiba said before pulling out his cell.
"Yami, can you help me pack?" Yuugi asked innocently as Asa hurried from the room.
Yami forced a smile. "Sure."
Sethe frowned at the Pharaoh's back as he left with his hikari. *What is it?* Kaiba asked.
**I'm worried about Yami. He's acting all gloomy.** Sethe replied.
*So?* Kaiba watched his twin.
**The last two times I saw him like this, the palace got burned up and he was 'killed'.**
*You think he's got a knack for bad premonitions?* Kaiba asked, starting to worry.
**I think he's got another bad feeling, and I don't like it. Not at all.**
*There's nothing we can do, Sethe. At least, nothing more than we're doing already.* Kaiba pointed out.
**That's what I'm afraid of.**
