Billie and Yugi stepped outside into the crisp December air. It was truly a beautiful night... the perfect night for a walk in the gardens. The two sat on a bench in the middle of some rose bushes.

"So Yugi having fun so far?" she asked him.

Yugi shrugged his shoulders, "I wish I could've come with Yami. What if he wanted to ask me to the dance? What if he's mad that I came with you? What if-what if..."

Billie put a hand on his shoulder, "Yugi he doesn't hate you I'm pretty sure but... do you really think he's right for you?"

Yugi raised his eyebrow, "what do you mean?"

She shrugged, "I just don't know if he's right for you. You seem to deserve so much more... someone so much better than him. Someone who can devotedly love you. Someone like Seto maybe?"

"But Seto is with Jonouchi!"

"Yes but he has a soft spot for you. He's always staring and touching you don't you notice?"

Yugi blushed, "yes...but... I'm sure he doesn't like me like that."

"You never know."

Yugi sighed and turned his head towards the double doors which were the entrance/exit to the ballroom. Yami was currently storming out the doors with Anzu hanging off of his arm.

//What's he doing?// Yugi thought as Yami stomped down the cobblestone pathway and searched behind each bush.

"Yugi..?" Yami whispered slightly, though loud enough so that it reached the small boy's ears.

Yugi peeked his head out from behind the tall rose bush to answer the calling but Billie pulled him back down.

"What are you doing?"

"But he's looking for me!"

"Yugi was that you?"

Footsteps were heard and Yami appeared towering over the two. He glared at Billie and brought his arms down, wrapping them around Yugi and lifting him up.

"Hey! Give me my date back," Billie yelled.

"No, he's mine!"

"Yami!" Anzu's voice could be heard from where Yami had purposely dropped her.

Billie glared at the Shadow Mage, "give him back he's `my' date!"

"No he's mine!"

--SLAP!--

Yami almost dropped the little light mage as he clutched his now red cheek. He stared at the girl in disbelief.

"Get out of here Yami and give me Yugi back! You're little whores are calling for you," Billie spat, gesturing to Anzu and now Mai who had come outside and were calling his name.

The tall tri-colored hair boy sneered and turned to walk away from the brunette girl as Yugi was unable to move or do really much anything.

"Yami, you can't just take me away from Billie! I'm her date!"

Yami shook his head, "no, you're mine Yugi. I wanted to ask you to this dance so badly. I wanted you to be the one I danced with, not Anzu or anyone else!"

"B-but then why did you ask her?"

"Because I overheard `Billie' asking you!"

Yugi looked down sadly and then heard the brunette girl's voice.

"Oh Yami, why are you such an inconsiderate asshole? Why don't you care about anyone except yourself? Why do you mess up your life so much?!"

Yami stopped and turned around, narrowing his eyes and staring into her multicolored orbs, "what do you care? Just go away, slut."

At the last word the girl went rigid and set opened her mouth, "WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU CALLING A SLUT YOU WHORE?! WHO THE HELL IS THE PERSON WHO HAS BEDDED ALMOST EVERY FUCKING PERSON IN THIS ENTIRE FUCKING SCHOOL INCLUDING `ME'?" she screamed.

Yami's eye twitched, "what the hell are you talking about I never did anything with you?"

"Oh yes you did...remember the Halloween party last year?"

Yami's eyes widened, "no way...that was you?!"

~FLASHBACK~

The ballroom was all decorated in black and orange in honor of Halloween night.

A very drunk Yami stood by the bar and sipping a beer. Yes underage drinking was actually allowed at Khemet since anyone who protested usually got killed. So Yami was drunk off his ass staring at a girl who was sitting on the stool a few feet away and looking equally drunk. She had brown hair and pretty rainbow eyes.

Yami stood up and walked over to her, "Hi," he said.

She stared lazily up at him, "who are you?" she asked.

Yami smirked and picked her up, "who cares," he slurred, running out of the room.

"Hey I never finished my drink!" the girl protested but was silenced as she was thrown into a deserted room--the library--and the boy laid down on top of her, kissing her lips groughly. (Shadow: do I really need to go any further for you to get the point? Well too bad I'm stopping there)

~PRESENT TIME~

Yami's eyes widened even more, "whoa... I thought it was Anzu I did that night!"

Billie smacked herself and shook her head, "anyways I would really appreciate having my date back."

Yami stared at Yugi who was staring wide eyed at Billie, "you never told me that!" he said.

She smiled and a slight blush stained her cheeks, "yeah well maybe I didn't want to let you know!" she retorted.

Yugi shook and little and clung to Yami. Billie's look soften, "um, sorry Yugi I didn't mean to yell. He's just pissing me off."

"--Well you're pissing me off!" Yami yelled back.

//I don't know if I can love Yami anymore. I'm not sure if he is what I want.//

Billie rolled her eyes and Yugi tried to pull away from Yami. "What's wrong little one?" Yami questioned.

Yugi blinked, he didn't even realize until now but, "Yami let me down I don't want to go with you." The little mage was surprised himself at the words.

Yami turned his eyes on the small teenager, "what- what do you mean my little one?"

"Put me down! And I'm not yours...I was but not anymore."

//What am I saying,// Yugi thought.

Yami was dumbfounded. //Maybe he really is over our relationship...but I love him too much to let him go// he thought while only holding Yugi to him tighter and shaking his head.

"Yami let go of him," said three stern voices at the same time.

Anzu, Mai, and Billie all stared at Yami with angered faces. Actually, Anzu and Mai's faces were directed towards Yugi.

Yugi shivered but did his best to glare back at them. //I hate those two girls! They're so mean! They broke me and Yami apart! But... do I still want Yami..?// Yugi instinctively gripped onto Yami more and the taller welcomed the action.

Anzu turned to Billie who was right next to her, "who the hell are you and what are you talking to my Yami for."

"As far as I'm concerned, Yami is pretty much free game at this moment," Billie snapped back.

Anzu rose her fist in what she thought was a threatening manner. Billie just pushed Anzu aside, "shut up bitch and go fuck your girlfriend!"

Mai's eyes widened considerably, "hey back off you slut! Go fuck Yugi, he is your date right?"

"That doesn't mean I have to have sex with him!"

"Sure it does...but then again who would want to do the twerp?"

Yami overheard that last comment, "hey listen Valentine, if it helps any, `I' would certainly love to do things with Yugi." They smaller boy was surprised to hear that.

Anzu immediately went on the defensive, "but you're my bitch Yami-kind! You belong to me and Mai-kins"

"I'm not anyone's! I don't belong to Mai and I most certainly don't belong to `you'!"

Anzu turned to Yugi, "this is all that stupid `Light's fault! If he had never come here than you would still love me!"

"Yeah isn't that great Anzu? Yugi has changed my life, he has made me a new me and I love him more than I could ever love anyone!"

//He loves me? I can't let him go then!//

Yugi's eyes brightened and he stared up at Yami, silently asking, `really?' Yami nodded as an answer and kissed the boy lightly on the forehead, "I know I had a truly messed up life but I want to be able to change everything around." He glared at the three girls standing in front of them.

"Yami, I hope you know we won't give up on you that easily," said Mai, crossing her arms over her chest in a dignified manner.

Anzu nodded in agreement, "you're nothing but a whore Yami, a worthless slut brought into this world for the soul purpose of only pleasuring those in need of a good fuck. Nobody could ever love you for that, not even your little `angel light.' So you better figure it out soon the you can come crawling back to us and make it up with giving us some...fun..."

Yami's eye twitched, "nothing and I mean `nothing' would ever make me want to be what I once was again. I have found love and I'm not going to lose it...I've lost it too many times...first in my Mother, then from Akira, and then from Yugi. I can't lose Yugi again he's all I have...he's all I need!" Yami raised his free hand to hold his forehead and Yugi hugged him gently to try to calm the quivering mage.

//Poor Yami, he's been through so much! I can't ever leave him again// Yugi buried his face in Yami's shoulder, unnoticed tears pouring down his face.

"I'm sorry Yami...I love you too...I love you so much and it hurts me so much that you have been maimed this way!" the little one sobbed.

Billie, noticing the two wanted to be alone, turned towards the other girls, "what the fuck is you staring at bakas? Get the hell away can't you see they don't want you around them? Can't you see nobody wants you around them?! Go away!" she backhanded both of them and they scampered off while shooting glares at Yugi and the brunette girl.

The Astral Mage (Shadow: Billie is a Lunar Mage...that'll be explained soon!) turned towards the two boys and smiled. //Well I played my role to a `T'// she thought walked over and patting Yugi on the back.

"I think I'll go inside and get a drink. You two should stay out here a little bit longer... at least till they draw the finalists for the Tri-Elemental tournament in an hour. Good luck to you."

Yami raised an eyebrow at the sudden attitude change but then beamed graciously down at her.

Yugi whispered a `thank you' and went back to nuzzling Yami's neck. Billie grinned and happily walked back into the ballroom.

Inside the ballroom, Ryou, Bakura, Seto and Jou were still sitting at the table. Marik and Malik had joined them about a half an hour ago. They saw Billie prancing up to them and raised an eyebrow at her bubbly antics.

"Mission accomplished," the brunette girl smirked.

Bakura let out a breather, "finally! I was getting so tired of hearing Yami's whining." Ryou punched him lightly in the arm yet Malik and Marik nodded I agreement.

Jou grinned, "And I was getting tired of housing the little runt in the dorm after a while. Sure he's nice and all but he always took up me and Seto's private time."

Seto didn't seem to be listening; he was off in his own little world thinking.

//Yugi and Yami are back together? Damn that means I will never have a chance with my little angel...Yami, that inconsiderate bastard always gets everything I want! How much I just want to hold the little one so badly. To kiss him on the lips like Yami does so ill-passionately//

Jou was poking Seto's side, trying to prod him out of his deep thoughts with hardly any luck.

//How much I just want to stay the night with him, embracing him tightly throughout the hours of darkness... how much do I long for Yugi to say how much he loves me like he does the damned Shadow Mage?!//

Jou's brow furrowed. What was the brunette boy thinking? He had a suspicion it was about Yugi. Seto always seemed very happy when around the small magician. His hypothesis was confirmed when the Fire Mage whispered two words under his breathe.

"My Yugi."

The earth mage lowered his eyelids in defeat. //So Seto really does have strong feelings for Yugi Muto// he sighed and his eyes wandered towards the double doors where the two tri-colored haired mages were walking in. Well Yami was walking, Yugi was on top of his shoulders giggling like a little child. He glared at the small boy.

//Just stick with the shadow mage Yugi and we can stay good friends.// Jou thought.

Yami smiled and waved at his friends, walked over to them while trying to steady Yugi on his shoulders. Yugi laughed happily and buried his face in Yami's hair. Yami chuckled and sat down in an empty chair, pulling Yugi down and onto his lap.

Yugi sighed happily and snuggled against Yami, savoring the warmth and spicy scent he had missed so much. A low growl caused him to turn his head. It came from...Seto..? Yugi was puzzled, what was wrong with his brunette friend? What had he done wrong?

The small boy shrugged and cuddled into Yami once again, slipping his hand under the hem of the older boy's shirt and caressing the skin that lay hidden under it gently. Yami blushed at the soft gestures and almost let out a moan. He stared down the little one whose head was resting against his chest and repeating the words `I love you' over and over again. He bent down and kissed his little light gently on the lips murmuring, "I love you so much," against the other's petal soft lips.

Seto watched the two with narrowed eyes. Yami was so ungrateful, he had everything and he didn't even realize that.

Suddenly the lights turned towards a small set up stage and Headmaster Shadows, Akira's father, walked onto the stage. He was a tall skinny well built man with messy blue hair and dazzling blue eyes. He smiled at the crowd of students.

"I just wanted to say that the results for the candidates of this year's Tri-Elemental tournament have come in and representing our school will be..." he looked at a small sheet of paper, reading the names to himself before reading them aloud.

"Billie Jeana Marce Barry!"

Billie stood up and walked to the stage to get her badge to certify that she was a candidate.

"Seto Kaiba!"

The brunette stood and walked up to the makeshift stage, taking his brooch and standing next to Billie, glaring at everyone.

"And last but not least, Yami Mutou!"

Yami remained calm, already knowing he'd get chosen. Yugi was hugging him happily though had a confused look on his face.

"I'll explain later."

Yugi nodded and watched his doppelganger approach the platform and take his emblem. He smirked at everyone and only gave a true good natured smile at Yugi who was clapping like crazy, his big amethyst eyes shining with pride.

"These three will work together and then compete against each other throughout the tournament. We must cheer for each of them equally when they face the students from Rehme and Zenoah and when only one prevails, wish him or her the best of luck. Please cheer for out representatives."

Everyone applauded loudly as the three returned to their seats. Yami slipped Yugi onto his lap again and the boy nuzzled his neck, "I'm proud of you for getting chosen Yami, but just what is the Tri-Elemental tournament? It must be pretty special if my old school and that other school are competing!"

"You don't know what it is?" Yugi shook his head. "It's a tournament where the three best Magicians from each of the three schools compete with each other threw duels and obstacle courses. Only one is chosen from each school at the end by the Elimination tournament and then those three face one big challenge to see who the strongest Elemental Magician is. That isn't all, the winner gets the grand prize of one million dollars and...The Hikari Cherub."

"Hikari what?"

"The Hikari Cherub...the most beautiful, erotic, entrancing, delectable student from the three schools is chosen as the prize. They are fully given to the champion of the tournament."

"Isn't that bad though? Isn't it intolerable?"

"In the Magician world it is perfectly tolerable. The winner is allowed to do whatever they please with their Hikari Cherub." He kissed Yugi on the brim of the nose, "but I don't need any Hikari Cherub, I have you...the light of my life."

Yugi smiled and snuggled more against Yami again, reaching his hand under the shirt and caressing the soft flesh underneath, "as I have you once again, my Yami, my darkness, my everything." He stared up at Yami, "you're all that I'll ever need."

"Just as you are all that I'll ever want, Yugi." Yami closed the space between them in a soft yet loving kiss.
