Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Everything I've Ever Wanted ❯ The Face In The Mirror ( Chapter 6 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Frazzle: I know, I know… I bet you all are waving your pitch forks and baring razor sharp fangs because I haven't updated in a whole freakin' YEAR. But there's a very good reason for that. First of all, I'd just like to say now I am an official Web Designer. I designed a website for my brother's company and am going to design one for a Doctor. Yes you heard me, a real top-notch Doctor. School has been hectic, trying to get all A's. Family problems couldn't be any worse… My father is fucking pissing me off, and my uncle is about to pass away soon. I've been going through some mental changes and my writing style has changed, as you will be able to tell as you read on. To tell you the truth I've also had writer's block. I didn't know where to lead this story. But when I start something, I want to finish it, so for the sake of all you loyal fans out there (and those who have reviewed yet probably forgot about this story) I shall finish it. It will end in the next 2-3 chapters.. I appreciate all of you who have taken the time to read and comment, to laugh and chuckle (snort, perhaps?), and to take the time out of your lives to sit there and read my insanely-insane writings. I will continue writing on mediaminor.org, not here, after this story has been finished. Fanfiction.net has deleted a countless number of my poetry which is just… completely disrespectful, so I'm moving my stories here! Enjoy the fic!!

When we last left off, the sly fox named Malik Ishtar carried with him a digital camera and camcorder within the Mountain Falls Lodge, taking countless pictures and movies of the two lovers, Pharaoh Yami and the former Priest, Seto Kaiba, who were in the middle of making the most mind-boggling love of their lives.

The Egyptian's final words, "I'll ruin your lives just like you two… ruined mine." A flashback enveloped the scene.

The tournament of Battle City had just ended. Everyone had thought Malik's darker half, Yami Malik, had been completely diminished in the previous battle with Yami. Yugi, Seto, and the gang had gone their separate ways, battling Doma in the fight for Atlantis (1) among other things, thinking Malik had a peaceful journey back to his homeland in Egypt.

It all started one night back in Malik's dorm underground once he had returned to his homeland. There were no windows in his home, but a clock on the wall exposed that it was just a little past midnight. The now restless Egyptian turned over on his pallet of a bed and curled around his thin gray sheets, groaning from anxiety. ** Why can't I get any sleep? It's like a constant knife is stabbing my mind over and over again… I thought once my darker half was gone, things were going to be much better!! But now this splitting headache is keeping me from catching any shuteye! Damn it to HELL! ** he thought while tugging on his sun-kissed blonde strands of hair.  ** THAT'S IT!! I'm getting some Ra damned advil! Isis might have some left over from her last menstrual cycle… At least she better or her and I are gonna have some WORDS… ** He had never felt so frustrated in his entire life, and by each minute the headache was growing worse and worse.

Trudging down the hall, his pale nightgown dragging quietly behind him, Malik held on to his temples as his mind began pounding against him.  Having to actually stop in his tracks to clear his vision, the blurry-eyed Egyptian held onto the wall next to him to guide him into the right direction. Once in the restroom area, he could not take it anymore. Shaking with the feeling of death looming over him, Malik crouched on the ground, pleading for whatever it was that was affecting him to go away. "Oh my Ra… What's going on…. ?! This feels like… Before when my… No… He's gone… I gotta… get up… Medicine…" he spoke through a voice mixed with pain and fear all wrapped into one. Dragging himself to his knees by the help of grabbing onto the nearby sink, the now pale-in-color young man brought himself unstably to his feet, opening the cabinet as quickly as his fingers could allow him. The cabinet was a mirror on the exterior, and was accessible by opening it from the side like a door. Hidden behind it were oodles of stocked-up meds that had been used countless times for Malik back then when his father gave him the initiation ritual, when he gained the Egyptian hieroglyphs on his back. It was to stop the excruciating pain, and Ra only knows how horrible that was. If those meds could cure him back then, they could most certainly cure him now, or so he thought.

Without saying a word, Malik grabbed the nearest can of advil and began twisting off the top. Beads of sweat drizzled down his paling mocha skin and his breathing became so labored and intense he felt as if a demon could erupt from inside of him at any given moment. He could hear his heartbeat banging loudly in his head, and with one swift motion gulped down the pills and swallowed uneasily. He hadn't realized that he took one too many, but he didn't care. Anything to get him healthy again was his goal.

Standing there motionless staring at the sink's bottom, the Egyptian Tomb Guardian's labored panting began to gradually decrease. His heart stopped beating at high speeds and his vision was starting to once again clear. Even though his physical self was returning to normal, the paranoia of fear of the 'Shadow of Death' still lingered. Trying to casually close the cabinet, the mirror on the front faced him head-on. Still looking down at the sink, Malik slowly lifted his violet eyes to the mirror, inspecting every inch of it. Just then, the hairs on the back of his neck began to rise. His arms grew goose bumps, so many he was covered within them. His tan skin grew instantly a cream-white, and the damp air of the underground chambers had caught in his throat, making Malik forget how to even breathe. Mouth dangling down, eyes becoming blurry once more, the Egyptian could no longer think. All he could do was stare… stare into the mirror in front of him, for there were now two images of him plastered there. One reflected the scared, frightened man he originally was… The other, so demonic and abnormal you could barely tell it was human, smiling with a sadistic and beyond twisted smile with fangs for teeth, that could instantly kill anyone who was too sensitive to evil's deadly stare. The only words that seemed to reach his mind at that moment in time were as such…:

** ….My other half… **

Taking a step backwards with feet that felt too numb to be functional, Malik could not find the words to speak. Reaching his arms and hands out backwards to try to find something to hang on to behind him, his mouth went dry and tongue curled up like a dehydrated snake.

"…What's wrong, aibou?..." said the dark spirit, following by a few evil chuckles. "…Miss me?..."

After the demonic being laughed his final laugh, a dark shadow slowly slipped out from behind the insane spirit. The last thing Malik Ishtar remembered that very night, was becoming engulfed with the burning and overwhelming shadow of evil.

Now back into reality and frowning from past memories that were originally not long ago, Malik instantly heard a low, devilish voice mingle around his entire body.

<…You have it?...> the voice bellowed throughout Malik's mind. The being's lips were not moving but Malik could hear him as clearly as if someone were speaking to him directly, although because it was inside his mind, it hit deeper into his soul.

Wincing from the sound he was all-too familiar with once again, the Egyptian hikari slowly nodded his head, eyes focusing back to the digital camera and the camcorder he previously took images from of the Pharaoh and the former Priest.

<…Good… Now you know what you must do with it…> it said, with a slight chuckle behind it that hinted everything which was being carried out was all a mere game to him.

"B-But…" he began trembling. He knew what his other half was urging him to do was wrong.

There was a short pause, and instantly Malik's darker half was standing, body molding and appearing before him. It was an almost identical figure, with the exceptions of the pupil-less, slanted eyes and the crazy spiked hair falling about him. His skin was transparent as if he were a spirit that you would see in a horror movie, and the aura around him became instantly hellish, air growing colder with each second that passed by. With each small breath Malik took, fog formed out of that breath, like exhaling outside on a cold winter day. Licking his lips seductively and insanely, the being now known as Yami Malik took two steps towards his hikari and cocked his head to the side, suggestively.

"…You fancy defying me, aibou?..." he spoke, but this time with words. His voice sounded like Hell's demons who were high off of death, and the spark in his eyes lit up the room with a sense of a sadistic, adventurous yet malicious spirit.

Sweat started forming on Malik's hands. "N-No… No. Of course not. I… I know what I must do."

Smirking continuously, Yami Malik held an arm out and touched Malik's shoulder. The feeling his hands gave off was a cold, dark, eerie feeling that sent even more tingles up his spine which paralyzed him. Yami Malik's eyes didn't help the situation either. Those pupil-less orbs… violet, like Malik's, yet pupil-less. So unearthly, so demonic, so… hypnotizing in a negative way. He couldn't help but stare deep into them. It was as if his very soul was being read from the inside out, and he could almost feel his mind being sadistically caressed by the mind-power of his darker half. "…You're shaping up well, my light…" The evil-soothing voice placed Malik into an even deeper trance. "…After all…" he cooed as he stroked the back of Malik's neck. "…It's not easy to defy someone as powerful as myself. But just remember…" His semi-transparent fingers now traveled to Malik's chin and bottom lip, sending even more fright to the young Egyptian.  Alert emerged from every nerve in his body. "…If you even so much as think about betraying my commands… Well, let's just say your body will look more… like mine."

With a mysterious wink from the evil spirit, Malik had to raise both eyebrows as even more suspicion and fear ran through him. ** What's… going on? Why did he just… Why is he touching me like… ** But no thoughts were ever severed from the two. They were one. You cannot have light without the darkness, or darkness without the light. It was a perfect balance, a soothing blend, even at which the present time darkness seemed to consume more of Malik's soul. Because of this tight binding and the ability to read his hikari's thoughts no matter what they were, Yami Malik smiled. But it wasn't that frightening, malicious smile as seen before. No… this, was even more fearful than the last, for it looked completely and entirely sincere.

And with a quick flash of violet light and a stale stagnant breeze, he vanished as quickly and quietly as he came.

It took Malik a few moments to recollect himself. Gripping the pocket-sized cameras a tad more than before, he narrowed his eyes. Now that his darker half was back within his soul room, within his mind, his thoughts once again turned mischievous. "Yes…" he began. "Yes.. I know EXACTLY what I am going to do… with these…" Looking back down at his precious recording equipment, the same evil smirk was placed on his face as was on Yami Malik's. "PHARAOH!!!" he shouted just above a hoarse whisper, "I SHALL DESTROY YOUR LIFE FOR… for…" Walking away from the Blue-Eyes White Dragon-painted door, Malik's voice broke off and he could no longer speak. ** Why… why couldn't you destroy my dark side when you still had the chance? ** Thinking this, it felt as if a giant wave of pain came crashing through Malik's body, and he remembered his yami's mind and his were connected. And as he pressed the elevator's button to descend to the first floor, a silent tear couldn't help but drizzle down his cheek.

Malik didn't get a ride home that night for Ryou had already left by the time Malik emerged from the elevator. Ryou and his hobbies of watching his tv shows… And of course, Bakura went with him. Although when Malik was exiting the building he noticed a nearby statue was overturned, its head carved off and set into its cement hands. With a tilt of his head and a slight smirk beginning to form over Malik's lips, he couldn't help but giggle. He had always envied Ryou for having such a goof-tastic yami. Sure Bakura was harsh on Ryou at times, but nothing like MALIK'S other half…  It just wasn't fair to him. Life didn't seem fair. Nothing did. With this thought in mind the smirk quickly faded from the Egyptian's face as he continued out the door, having to walk home on foot on this slightly brisk summer evening. It was a cloudless night, and the stars above in the heavens twinkled with an unearthly light. Malik looked up and saw one sparkle right back at him. It was the brightest, largest star in the summer sky he had ever seen. Closing his eyes while still glancing heavenward, Malik made a wish upon that beautiful star who seemed to be the only one who noticed Malik still existed in this world.

** To anyone who may be listening… Please send me someone who can love me.**

Frazzle: Not as funny this time, I know. But there's a reason for that.

Bakura: There better be you b-- *gets whacked over the head by an in-coming frying pan of doom* WAAAA!! MY EYES!! THEY'RE MELTING!!!! *runs around screaming*

Ryou: Uhm… Bakura…? O.o;

Frazzle: -_-; *cough* Anyways, I had to get out this chapter. It explains why Malik is after the Pharaoh. Well, one was directly stated and one was indirectly stated. First of all, if you didn't know, in Battle City Yami fought with Malik to try to get rid of his dark side, and won. Everybody was depending on him to save Malik. But in this story, I make it so things went wrong and Malik was blaming Yami for his darker half coming back. The indirect statement was, if you didn't catch on, that Malik felt a tinge of jealousy aimed at the two lovers. Malik doesn't have a love bond between his darker half and himself, nor does anyone outside of the spirit world seem to notice him. Mixed with envy and hate he set off to make destroy the lives around him. Savvy? ^^;

Malik: *eyes tear up* I just want some one to wuv me…

Frazzle: o.o AWWW!!!! *gives a humongous glomp*

Malik: x.o Need… air… Dieing…

Frazzle: Anywho, Chapter 7 is in the works! Next time, Malik publishes the photographs! What will happen to Yami and Seto!? Will Malik ever fall in love? Will Bakura ever stop mutilating statues? Will Pegasus ever stop molesting children!? All this and more, on the next Chapter of Everything I've Ever Wanted.

Bakura: *is still running around* MY EYES!!!!!!! THEY'RE---*bangs into a poll* X____X

**MAJOR SPOILER!**
