Ryou grumbled slightly as he heard someone knock upon his door. He hadn't been in the shower two minutes and someone decides to show up. If it was one of his 'clients' they would be answering to Dallas later in the week. Ryou smiled slightly he expected Dallas to be a really cruel man but he really wasn't he actually was very nice he took care of everyone in his house, even checked up on those who lived outside the house like Ryou did. He was also like a father to most of the boys as well…but like every parent, regardless of what they say, had his favorites and Ryou was one of them. He wrapped a robe around himself as he went to the door, surprised to see Malik there.
"Malik?" Ryou said stepping aside letting his friend inside. "What brings you here?" Ryou asked drying his damp hair.
"Well I've tried coming by at night but you were never home, you told me if I needed a place to stay your door was open for me…" He trailed off slightly
"It still is…I have a guest room that you are free to use, did something happen?" Ryou asked cautiously.
"Me and Marik broke up…I couldn't lie to him anymore about what I do for a living now, it got to hard." Malik said sitting down admiring Ryou's apartment.
"This place looks expensive…" Malik said looking around.
"Nothing is cheep when it comes to apartments, might as well make it a nice one if it's going to cost me anyway." Ryou said slipping on a pair of pants and a T-shirt.
"How do you afford it?" He asked
"I spent almost a whole month working for Dallas straight, I made good money doing it too, and I can afford it." Ryou said standing and was about to leave.
"Wait where are you going?" Malik asked
"I have night school…if you think I'm going back to school when summer is over your wrong, it's easier to earn my degree this way. A few more months and I'll have a high school diploma." Ryou said proudly
"Wow…no wonder you weren't home at night." Malik said feeling a little envious of Ryou's ambition.
"Well I got to go, I'm, going to drop by the store after school…anything you want or need?" Ryou asked
"No, thanks for asking." Malik said
"All right, I'll be home around eleven." Ryou said almost about to head off
"Wait! It's only ten in the morning where are you going?" Malik asked
"I also have a weekday job, I make good money at the 'house' but I still want to be a productive member of society…make yourself at home and help yourself to anything in the fridge." Ryou said before leaving and locking the door behind himself and heading off to work then school.
Malik sighed as he went to the guest room curling up on the bed wanting to cry for the loss of Marik. He only wanted him to understand why he did this kind of work but he didn't have a choice in the matter they almost lost their home and thanks to Dallas they kept their home. He couldn't lie to him anymore but telling him the truth went horribly, not the expected Marik to be okay with it but he hoped in telling the truth that Marik would be a bit more understanding about the situation…but no, he totally exploded and when Malik yelled back Marik…Malik began to cry at the words his so called 'lover' called him he was so mean, how could someone he love call him such nasty things, he did it all for them no one else…why couldn't Marik understand?
Several Hour's Later…
Bakura shopped silently when Marik placed a hand on his shoulder nearly scaring him half to death.
"Oh, it's you Marik." He said sadly as he turned back to his shopping list.
"Yami asked me to find you, they're really worried about you Bakura and frankly so am I." Marik admitted knowing Bakura's behavior was not healthy.
"I'll be fine, besides you have your own problems…Malik remember?" Bakura said hoping to divert his attention from him to Malik.
"Malik's eighteen now, I can't control him any more than I can control you…he will come back hopefully, he'll have to, I know he still loves me and it was my fault anyway I shouldn't have yelled at him like I did." Marik admitted. "If and when I see him I'll apologize and hopefully he'll accept it." Marik said.
"Who say's you'll see him again?" Bakura said not trying to sound mean although it came out that way when he said it.
Marik sighed he knew Bakura was really messed up about Ryou running away and it had been almost a month and a week since they last saw the pale boy. Marik decided to leave Bakura alone he would come home to drop off the groceries so at least he would make an appearance even if he didn't stay there for long. Marik decided to pick up some aspirin while he was there as well.
Ryou entered the store grabbing a hand basket and started going down the medicine aisle needed to buy some supplies for a first aid kit. He always had one at hand at his old place and would probably need one at his new home too. He cracked his neck and stretched, another long day of work and school…although it was sad he had a less tiring time working with Dallas than he did at his other job and school itself was hell. He sighed picking up some band-aids and hydrogen peroxide throwing them in his basket. When he reached for the aspirin his hand collided with someone else's,
"Sorry I was just…" He stopped mid sentence at who it was "Marik?" Ryou asked unsurely.
Marik immediately grabbed his arm. "Ryou!" He said, "Where the hell have you been? Everyone has been worried sick about you!" He yelled, it would have made a scene but no one was really around it being so late at night.
"No! Let go of me!" Ryou said trying to wrench his arm from Marik's grasp suddenly someone threw Marik across the way making him let go of Ryou.
"Are you all right?" Dallas asked
"What are you doing here?" Ryou asked "I mean…yeah I'm fine." Ryou said feeling slightly bad that Marik had been hurt. He dropped the basket. "Would you mind dropping me by home?" He asked softly
"No problem." Dallas said flashing him a brilliant smile as he took Ryou's hand.
Ryou smiled back and was about to be lead out of the store but hear someone else's voice and looked behind him seeing…white.
"Bakura?" He said softly as his soft brown eyes were meet with sharper ones that went wide at contact with him.
"R-Ryou?" Bakura said standing up leaving Marik
Ryou shook his head and ran Dallas right behind him as they ran out into the parking lot.
"Take me away! Take me away now!" Ryou yelled frantically as Bakura ran after them
"All right." Dallas said leading them to his car quickly and taking off before Bakura could stop them.
"RYOU!" Bakura yelled falling to his knees as he saw his love disappear into the night. "NO! No, no, no, no" Bakura said over and over and over until he was crying uncontrollably into the parking lot.
Ryou cried into his hands as they drove down the highway streets.
"Ryou? Who was that? Are you okay?" Dallas asked genuine concern in his voice.
Ryou sniffled slightly "Its not important…" He trailed off slightly curling up in the bucket seats of Dallas's BMW.
"Who is he? At least tell me that." Dallas asked
"His name is Bakura." Ryou said softly
"Is he bothering you? Do I need to do something about him?" Dallas asked
"No! Ryou said looking at him wide-eyed…no nothing like that I knew him before I started working for you, he…he was my lover." Ryou said sadly but noticed Dallas's face darken at the word lover.
"Well you probably shouldn't go back to that store then, you know I can't let you stop working for me." Dallas said
"I know, I didn't intend to quit…it was just seeing him, the hurt on his face, I hate it when he looks at me like that. It hurts so much to see him like that, I hoped he had moved on but obviously he hasn't…he looked a complete wreak a total mess." Ryou said
"He didn't seem all that bad." Dallas said
"You don't know him like I do." Ryou said
"Are you going to tell him where you live or are we going to drive forever?" Dallas said changing the subject.
"Oh…sorry." Ryou said blushing as he wiped the rest of his tears. Turn left at the next light and my apartment will be on the right." Ryou said
Dallas nodded and the rest of the ride was spent in silence but Ryou could feel Dallas looking at him. Dallas stopped the car and waited for Ryou to get out.
"Something's bothering you…" Ryou said noticing the way his featured darkened at the mention of Bakura.
"No…I'm fine Ryou, just be sure to come to work on time Friday okay." Dallas said
"I've never been late before." Ryou said stepping out.
"Be…be careful." Dallas said before he left Ryou.
"I will be." Ryou said smiling hoping that Dallas believed him.
Dallas smiled at Ryou as he drove off. Dallas tightened his fists around the steering wheel…'a lover?' he asked himself 'he had a lover?' Dallas didn't like the idea of it at all. He hated to admit it but he had grown quite fond of the white haired boy that now worked in his house, true Ryou had earned him a lot of money more than most others had but it was more than that he had feelings for Ryou too. He remembered he nearly killed on of the clients for using Ryou to roughly, even though Ryou said he would be okay…he took care of Ryou like no one he had before. He wondered for a while if he had fallen for Ryou and what was strange he didn't seem to care, so what if he loved Ryou? That just meant no one else could touch his little tenshi and Ryou would be all his…it seemed like a wonderful idea, but he was scared to say anything to Ryou for fear of rejection…maybe he could tell him Friday.
Huza! New plot twist Ryou's boss is in love with him! And Ryou has another job (honest one) and goes to school! GO RYOU! I had to make things look up a little bit and I'm sorry for this chapter being so late I'm at my sisters and it's hard to update while I'm here, anyway I hope you liked it!
