I know, I haven't finished my other two stories but this one wont stop nagging me to write it so here it is and I hope you enjoy! I still intend to finish "Love & Pain" and "Cant Erase What I Feel" so don't fret! ENJOY!

Yami sat patently in his living room awaiting the arrival of his new foster son. Neither Yami or Bakura had ever taken care of a boy before they mostly got young girls for some reason but this time they were able to snag a boy to take care of, and he would be their only foster child for a while. The caretaker had said something about him having problems with others but said they would fill him in later. The doorbell rang as Yami had just got done making a fire in the living room. Bakura came from downstairs to answer it and opened the door slightly to meet a smiling woman and a young boy.

"You must be Bakura?" The woman asked

"Yes, please come in" Bakura said stepping aside

"My name is Meia, this is Ryou." She said looking down at the young boy.

Bakura knelt to his knees "Hello." Bakura said softly

Ryou backed up hiding slightly behind the woman who looked sadly at the young boy.

"I'm sorry, he's a little shy around other men…Ryou?" she asked softly "Would you like to see your new home?" She asked

"How about I show you to your new room? Would you like that?" Bakura asked

Ryou looked into the chocolate brown eyes that matched his own and nodded slightly taking the older boys hand as he lead him upstairs. Meia went into the living room as Yami greeted her.

"Hi, thanks for coming by…where is he?" Yami asked

"Bakura is showing him his room, his name is Ryou." She swallowed a bit nervously.

"What's wrong?" Yami asked concerned

"Well…Ryou has some special needs that you might need to take into consideration and I didn't want to discuss them over the phone and its just…they are not exactly easy subjects to talk about either." She reached into her bag and pulled out the boy's files.

These files are copies for you to keep; we have the original files in office. Yami reluctantly took the files and opened them revealing pictures of Ryou with scars all over his body, every inch of him was in some way battered.

"My god…how old is he?" Yami asked

"He is thirteen now." She answered "But the abuse started when he was about six, right after his mother died I guess his father just…" She stopped shaking her head

"You said something about special needs…" Yami trailed off still taken aback by the pictures in the file.

"Well for starters he has an eating disorder, anorexia to be exact but it's not his fault really." She said a bit sadly

"Explain" Yami asked.

"Well, whenever Ryou misbehaved his father wouldn't feed him. He used food as a primary weapon and now…he is so unused to eating he just…doesn't altogether, he doesn't even realize he's doing it really, and a lot of the time your going to have to push him to eat, it may be good to start with simple things like soup and such. And in all truth he thinks he's not hungry when in reality he is starving" She said

Yami nodded in agreement and waited for her to continue.

"Also he is very shy and is often bullied a lot, that's why we tend to keep him away from other foster care children, they target him and he doesn't defend himself…we have tried to help him but it doesn't seem to work really." She sighed "Yami…" she began slowly.

"You sound worried." Yami said closing the file not wanting to see anymore.

"This will be the hardest thing to tell you so just listen and don't interrupt okay?" She asked

Yami nodded in agreement.

"For one Ryou is one of the most sever abused child cases ever reported and it wasn't only physical abuse. He will be very scared of you and Bakura for a while because of the mere fact you are male and this is because his father also sexually abused him."

Yami interrupted her "What!" he jumped from his seat

"Please Mr. Yami sir…sit down I wasn't finished." She said as Yami took a seat.

"The sexual abuse started when he was only eight years old, and for the next two years it was only by his father but when he turned ten…when Ryou turned ten his father would sell him to other men…and this has done extreme damage to Ryou mentally and physically. There is no indication of an STD thankfully and the wounds will heal but it's his mental problems are what concern us the most." She stopped

Yami swallowed so not to yell, "How long did it last?" Yami asked

"Three years, we've only had him five months and he as already attempted suicide…twice if you count the time he tried when he was still in his fathers custody." She stopped

"He is so young though…how could anyone do that to their own son?" Yami said

"I don't know" She said "We know it happened because he told a friend but…now he wont say anything about it…and if he doesn't say anything in court…his father will regain custody." She said a bit sadly.

"God…it's a wonder he is still here…Thank you for the files, I promise he is in good hands." Yami said standing.

"Oh and one more thing he will sleep underneath his bed, he would hide there often is what I am guessing so you might want to put some extra pillows or sheets there okay?" She said

"I'll be sure to and thank you again for all the advice." Yami sighed as he closed the door, and started upstairs.

He stood in the doorway and watched Bakura watch the young Ryou look about his room in amazement.

"Do you like it?" Yami asked startling Bakura slightly

"H-Hai" Ryou answered softly

"Well tomorrow we can go shopping and get you nicely settled in, would you like that?" Yami asked.

Ryou dint answer and looked away from him. Yami was confused for a second he didn't understand if he had upset Ryou somehow. Bakura looked at Yami worried.

"Here I bet you're tired, lets get you ready for bed." Bakura said as he tried to pick Ryou up but Ryou jumped from his arms.

"NO!" he yelled and went to the other side of the room.

Yami touched Bakura's shoulder, shaking his head no telling him to never do that again as Bakura nodded.

"You can get dressed by yourself right?" Yami asked

"Hai." Ryou answered quickly

"All right we'll be back in ten minutes to tuck you in okay? Be in bed waiting okay?" Yami said with a reassuring smile "You're pajamas are in your middle drawer." He said

Once outside Bakura looked at Yami curiously.

"Why did he jump away from me like that? Every time I got close to him he only moved further away too." Bakura said.

We have a lot to talk about Bakura…" Yami paused "For now he was pretty badly abused by his father and having an abusive adult male around him I guess made him afraid of any adult male…like ourselves." Yami sighed

"There is more to his story I'm guessing?" Bakura asked

"He is much worse off than any other we have taken care of Bakura, I'm not sure how to act around him without frightening him…when you read his file your understand." Yami said shaking his head slightly and knocking upon the door.

When Yami and Bakura walked in Ryou was sitting contently on the bed as he was told. Yami smiled at him sadly unable to keep it hidden as he gently tucked him in saying goodnight before he left Ryou alone.

Later that night Yami showed Bakura the files, pictures, and filled him on what Meia had told him about Ryou. He was surprised at how strongly Bakura reacted to this.

"How could somebody sell their own son!" Bakura yelled, "He should be thrown in prison for Christ sake!" Bakura said

"I know, its how I felt too." Yami said "we need to be careful around him, the only male influence he has ever had involved rape and abuse…its no wonder he's afraid of us."

"How long until his court date?" Bakura asked

"That's months away." Yami said simply

"We should wake early tomorrow and show him we are trying to help him not harm." Bakura said

"I agree." Yami said about to leave

"Yami…he, he seems awfully thin, is there anything related to that?" Bakura asked

"Oh, yes his father inadvertently made him slightly anorexic by not feeding him, he thinks he's not hungry when in all reality he's starving…we'll need to work with him on that subject a lot." Yami said before he left

Bakura sadly nodded his head before he tucked himself in and went to sleep.

Yami stopped and opened the door slightly to Ryou's room to find him sound asleep in his bed. Yami smiled at him softly before he went into his own room thinking. His thoughts dwelled upon what Meia had said

"We know it happened because he told a friend"

Yami wondered who this friend was; maybe he could help them with Ryou.

I know how mean I am to Ryou all right; if you are a fan you know this too. Next chapter will contain horrible nightmares from little Ryou okay, and maybe Yami and Bakura will end up adopting Yugi as well in the next chapter…maybe. PLEASE REVIEW!
