Yuri: Hey guys!
Jou: Hey how you been?
Yuri: Good. I just went to a rally and the Drop Kick Murphys preformed. It was pretty sweet. And right now I'm watching the Celtics kick ass! Go Boston!
Seto: …Um alright.
Yuri: Seto, please, don't give me that attitude. I am just very patriotic about my hometown.
Jou: Seto couldn't understand. He doesn't have pride in anything but himself.
Seto: Well you're—
Yuri: Guys not right now. Let's just give the readers what they came for. Here's the next chapter! Enjoy!
…Interruptions…
“Jou, I don't think that this is such a good idea,” Yugi said tilting his head towards the ceiling. He didn't understand how Jou got entertainment from this.
Jou looked down from his position on the ladder and smiled. “You never think anything is a good idea,” Jou said as he focused his attention back on his project. “Come on, Yuge, you gotta live a little.”
Yugi sighed and decided to take a seat on the long soft red rug that laid gently on the squeaky clean wooden floor. He waited until the blonde in front of him was finished patiently and frowned as he began to think about today. He had barely seen Yami all day because the taller boy was stuck up in a meeting with Seto with those men who looked like penguins. Yugi also didn't like the fact that Yami was spending so much time with Anzu. Yugi didn't realize that Jou was staring at him until the blonde spoke.
“What's wrong, Yuge?” Jou asked as he stopped everything he was doing to look at his small friend.
Yugi shook his head quickly. “O nothing Jou. I guess I'm just a little homesick,” Yugi said quietly. Even though that was not what had caused Yugi to become upset at that moment, it still was the truth. “I miss Ryou and Malik” Yugi said sadly. “I miss grandpa too.”
Jou sighed worriedly as he jumped off the latter and put it back in a small closet, in which he had gotten it from. The blonde then approached Yugi and took a seat on the floor right next to him. “You know, Yugi, no one said that this new life was going to be easy but if it's something that you really want, then you have to sacrifice things for it” Jou said softly.
Yugi turned towards Jou as memories from his past filled his mind and tears came to the wide amethyst eyes. “What do you want, Jou? Do you want to go back? Because you gave up everything just for me so if you want to go back to our old lives then I'll do it” Yugi said. It was obviously very hard for the young boy to say what he just did, which Jou picked up on instantly. It was probably due to the fact that Yugi had found love and if he returned to his old self then no matter how hard the two tried; Yugi and Yami could just not be together. Yugi watched Jou closely as the blonde turned what Yugi had just offered him around and around in his head. And then, Jou smiled.
“I really appreciate that Yuge, but I don't think I'm quite done making Kaiba's life miserable just yet” Jou said as he gave Yugi a quick wink. Yugi eyes widened in happiness and his whole face began to give off a radiant glow. That was all Jou needed to not regret what he had just said. The blonde had obviously lied but he knew that if he separated Yugi and Yami then neither of them would ever find someone who feels the same way about them like how they feel about each other.
“Thank you so much Jou!” Yugi said happily. Jou just nodded and then froze all of the sudden. After a couple of seconds, Jou jumped to his feet and grabbed Yugi roughly by the arm before dragging the short prince around the corner. Worry filled into Yugi's face as he turned around to face the smiling blonde.
“Jou, what's wrong?” Yugi asked frantically.
Jou put his finger to his lips, motioning for the small boy to keep quiet. “He's coming” Jou whispered as he peeked his head around the corner so that he wouldn't miss a second of what was about to happen. The door suddenly swung open and a loud crash could be heard followed by an angry growl.
“MUTT!”
Jou turned to face Yugi and cupped his hand around his mouth to contain his laughter. After a few seconds had passed and he managed to compose himself, he came strolling out of the corner and his eyes met with furious blue.
“Master Kaiba!” Jou feigned shock. “Whatever happened?”
Seto narrowed his eyes at the blonde in front of him. “Don't play dumb, mutt” Seto spoke angrily.
Jou once again took a few seconds to admire the sight in front of him. There was the almighty Kaiba absolutely drenched from head to toe with cold water, which had poured all over him when the brunet was foolish enough to fall for Jou's trap. Ah! The classic bucket over the door prank never failed.
“I don't know what you're talking about” Jou said as he pretended to take offense to Seto's accusation. “You don't think I had anything to do with this?”
At that second Yami walked in from the same door that Seto had just came from. Yami rubbed his eyes a few times to make sure that what he was seeing was in fact real and wasn't just his mind playing a cruel prank on him. After he had confirmed that what he was seeing was real, he grabbed his waist tight as he fell to the floor in insane laughter. Jou followed in suite, finally not being able to hold it in any longer.
“O…my…god!” Yami said in between fits of laughter. “It hurts…so much! But…it feels…so good!” Yami continued as he curled up in pain from laughing so hard. Never in his life did he see anything funnier then seeing Seto look like a wet cat.
Jou also laughed until his sides began to ache in pain and Seto never looked as pissed as he did right now. The two boys didn't even noticed when the brunet disappeared down the hallway. After a couple more minutes of laughter, the spiky haired teen and the blonde stood up shakily.
“Jou, you are so ridiculously awesome, that I don't think I can take it much longer” Yami said still beat red from his episode only seconds ago. Jou smiled and took a bow.
“I know, I know! You and Yugi can bask in my awesomeness!” Jou said jokingly.
Jou's last statement made Yami pause and look around for the object of his unknown affection.
“Yugi?” Yami called out. Yami smiled when Yugi came creeping out of the corner and bent over to ruffle the small boy's hair.
“Miss me?” Yami asked with a wide grin on his face. Yugi nodded happily.
“Well then how bout you and me go stroll along the beach a little?” Yami asked kindly. Yami really wanted to spend some quality time with Yugi since they had not seen each other that much lately.
“Really!?” Yugi said with a joyous tone.
Yami nodded. “Ya and beside” Yami said as he looked around carefully “I don't want to be here when Seto shows up again because if I know one thing about my cousin, it's that he loves revenge.”
Jou smiled. “O please, he doesn't scare me. What's the worse he could do?” Jou asked. He wouldn't realize what Seto was truly capable of until later that night.
…
Jou dusted the table and sighed. Even though he was use to it, Jou still didn't enjoy being a maid. Too much work for him. He wanted to go out and have fun. I mean if he was going to live as a human then he wanted to see everything that it had to offer. Not just this big mansion with stuck-up employers and passive employees. He looked at the big grandfather clock that sat in the corner of the room. 2:20. Jou sighed. This was so boring. Jou looked around suspiciously to make sure that no one was watching him. He then proceeded to put away his cleaning tools and slowly went towards the big front doors. He really wanted to feel the water again. It had been way too long. He was almost free when a loud but acquiescent voice spoke to him.
“Excuse me, Mr. Jounouchi, but we have new visitors who need to be set up in rooms and taught how to clean and work”
Jou turned with an exhausted look on his face to see a very stout and emotionless man with a butler's outfit on. “Why can't you do it, George?” Jou asked annoyingly.
“Master Kaiba told me to attend to other things and you're the only one who is available at the moment” the man said.
Jou rolled his eyes. “Fine!” Jou said angrily. “Where are the two fuckers who need the rooms?”
“Why Jou” said an all to familiar voice “Calling us fuckers isn't very nice.”
Jou swung around violently and his eyes went wide with amazement as he peered into lavender eyes.
…
“This is nice” Yugi said as he and Yami sat on the edge of the shore with their feet submerged in the cool water.
Yami nodded. “Yes, this is very nice.” Yami glanced up at Yugi and smiled. “It's better with you.”
Yugi blushed slightly as his heart began to race. Why was Yami so sweet, and intelligent, and kind, and—
“Yugi?”
Yugi turned his attention back to Yami. “Ya?” he managed to peep out.
Yami looked away. “Well I need to tell you something.”
Yugi blinked. What was Yami hiding from him? “Well what is it Yami?” Yugi asked curiously. Yami's behavior at this point was very peculiar, as the taller boy wouldn't look up to meet Yugi's gaze.
“Well I…I hope that what I say won't change your opinion of me…” Yami sighed and looked at Yugi to make sure that the smaller boy was listening.
“Yami” Yugi said softly “Nothing you say could ever make me think about you any differently then how I see you now.”
Yami smiled and scooted over so that he and Yugi were sitting right next to each other. Yami then took Yugi's hand in his and cupped Yugi's chin so that their eyes locked.
“Yugi…I l—“
“Yami there you are!” a chipper voice said.
Yami groaned and looked up at the brunette who had just interrupted him from proclaiming his undying love.
“Hi Anzu” Yami said as he separated himself from Yugi. Yugi frowned in response and gave the girl standing above them a glare.
“Sorry if I interrupted something” Anzu said clearly not really caring. “I just wanted to spend some time with you.”
Anzu saw that Yami was about to say something but cut him off. “Of course unless you were too busy. I mean I'm sure my dad could find business elsewhere.”
Yami sighed. `Ya and then Seto would decapitate me' Yami thought as he stood up on his two feet. He looked down and gave Yugi an apologetic look.
“It's ok Yami. I'll be fine. I'll just come see you tonight” Yugi said. The small boy would be lying if he said he didn't get pleasure from the jealous look on Anzu's face.
Yami smiled and nodded. “See you then my hikari” Yami said before walking away towards the house.
“Yami I'll be there in a second” Anzu said innocently.
Yami nodded and Anzu watched him until he was clearly out of sight. She then whipped her head around to face Yugi who was at this point standing as well.
“Listen you little freak” she began “I don't know who you think you are but you better stay away from my man or else the next thing you know you'll be stranded in the middle of the ocean and you'll never see Yami ever again!”
With that the brunette stomped away, leaving a very angry and distraught Yugi by himself. He glared violently at the shimmering water in front of him. If that obsessive bitch thought that Yugi was weak and feeble just because he was small, then she had something else coming. Yugi smiled devilishly as he thought to himself about the events that were to come later tonight. Yami would be his.
…
“Malik! Ryou!” Jou screamed in shock. The blonde ran up to the two and wrapped one arm around both of their necks. “O my god, look at you two!” Jou said as he took a step back to look at his two friends and motioned at Malik's tan legs and Ryou's pale ones. “How did this—“
Malik and Ryou both raised up their millennium items. Jou quickly understood but there was one thing that he couldn't comprehend. “Why?” Jou asked.
“Well we missed you and Yugi” Ryou said softly. “Without you two, things were just not the same.”
“And besides” Malik said, not liking to show emotions that often “We had a little bit of persuasion.”
Jou raised an eyebrow. “From who?” the blonde asked curiously.
Ryou smiled. “It's a long story.”
