Chapter 4: A Brother's Secret

Serena's making to many excuses, while Yugi finds out the truth to her little tryst and more….

Serena looked shocked at the question, remembering what just happened a few minutes ago; letting herself go to Bakura. "So Serena, what happened in there are you ok?" asked Yugi as he tries to look inside to see if anyone was in there. Serena hurried outside, closing the door, "Um, I was cooking and I was trying to move something and I almost got burned" she said trying to look calm, "Are you sure, I heard you moaning? Is there someone in there?" Atemu asked trying to get inside. Serena shuts the door and pushes Atemu back, giving a big hug in the process, "Um I am I sorry. I missed you. How are you doing?" Serena asked as she hugs and kisses Atemu. But instead of returning the affection, he pushes her away and looks at her with a confused expression, "Atemu?? What's wrong?" Serena asked. Atemu continued staring at her, "Serena? Why are you all warm and sweaty?" Serena then jumped back from Atemu and touched her face, knowing she just came from that little even with Bakura, Serena tried to think of a reason why she was that way, "I uh, I told you I was cooking and I was near fire, so.." but then she was cut off, "But you smell weird, like you were, you know" Atemu said not wanting to let little Yugi know what he meant. Serena blushed realizing what he meant, "Um no. I was just cooking that's all." But then they heard a noise that sounded like a window or a door shutting, "Serena are you sure no one is in there?" Atemu asked again. Serena started to sweat; trying to figure out how is she going to get out of this.

On her way to her sister's house, Shuree and Shizuka suddenly noticed someone coming out of the alley along Serena's house. "Um hey. Who is that?" Shizuka asked as she tries to get a good look at the figure. But upon investigating who is was Shuree stops here, looking very shocked at what she saw, "Shuree! What's wrong do you know who it is??" asked Shizuka. But Shuree just turned her attention to Shizuka, "No it's nothing. We were seeing things, see what ever it was is not even there now." Giving up, they continued on their way to Serena's house, but who Shuree saw was made her worry about her sister as she hurries Shizuka up, "Oh Serena, please don't tell me that you are caught up in this again." Shuree thinks to herself as they come up to Serena's house, who is still trying to explain her situation to Atemu, but then she notices her sister and friend, "Hey sis!! Over here!!" she yelled finally getting away from Atemu. After the girls greeted each other, Shuree takes Serena away from the group, "Hey, what's up?" Serena asked but her sister just looked at her with a somewhat disgusted look, "Don't play like that. Why did I see Bakura run out of your house?" Serena was about to go crazy from all the questions, it just got worse, "Bakura!! Did you just say Bakura?? Why would you say something about him." Atemu asked suddenly appearing behind them. Serena backed away, looking scared and confused, `How am I going to get out of this one?' then Serena starts laughing, shocking everyone, "I don't know what any of you guys are talking about, so am going back inside and get ready ok." Serena hurries inside closing the door, not before Shuree rushes inside, "Hold on you didn't answer my question…" Shuree then noticed that there were no dishes or pots laying around, "Wait a minute…Atemu told me that you said that you were cooking in here, but it doesn't even look like you started. Serena I want to know what is going on and why I saw Bakura coming out of your house? What was he doing in here?" Shuree asked with a concerned look. Serena just looked at her and started to gather her clothes to get ready, "Look I have to get ready, I don't know what you are talking about…." Serena tried to go in her room but Shuree stopped her, pushing her way into the room, noticing that the bed was a mess and Serena's undergarments were on the floor, "You mind explaining this…." Shuree asked looking at a confused Serena.

Elsewhere, Bakura makes it back to his hideout where he finds Malik rummaging though a bag of gold, throwing out rings, bracelets and coins, "What are you doing??" asked Bakura as he sets himself down on one of the futons. Malik finishing his search gathers the items in another bag, turning to Bakura, "Well we need food. I am hungry and I am sure you are." But Bakura is not paying any attention to him as he himself begins to go through the bag looking for something, "I am not hungry I already ate." Bakura says as he pulls out a golden necklace with rubies, diamonds and sapphire. Malik watches him examine the necklace, realizing whom it was for, "I see why you not hungry." Malik says with a chuckle, but Bakura just ignores him and continues looking for something. Finally, Bakura found what he had been looking for, a long wide golden necklace with rubies, emeralds, diamonds and sapphires on it, `Good. She will love this.' Bakura said as he places the necklace in a small bag. Malik still gathering his stuff heads but not before patting Bakura on the back before leaving, "Good luck. Don't want you to run into her boyfriend, the soon to be pharaoh." Malik says, but Bakura just waves him off, "He is not her boyfriend. Get out of here before I kill you." Finally rid of Malik, Bakura gathers his things and goes to take a shower.

Back with Serena and the gang, Atemu and the others are still outside waiting for Serena and Shuree to return. But Yugi decides to sneak inside to make sure everything's ok. Inside, Shuree is still waiting for an answer from Serena, "Well I am waiting for you to tell me why was Bakura in your house and why are half you clothes on the floor?" she asked. Serena couldn't just say `Oh me and Bakura were getting it on in here' Shuree would kill her. Shuree finally giving up, "Look I know about you and Bakura. So trying to think of something will not help. You can't keep seeing him if you are going to marry Atemu, I really don't like the fact that you are in love with him; he is a thief who stole an item from one of the priests." Shuree says trying to save her sister from heartache. Outside of Serena's room, Yugi looks around, realizing that Serena was never cooking in here or maybe they cleaned it up, suddenly he hears the voices of Serena and her sister inside her bedroom. "Um look, what me and Bakura do is none of your business. As for Atemu, I just have to explain this once I can think of what to tell him that's all. I don't love Atemu the same way I love Bakura." Serena says. Shuree looking very upset tries to talk some sense into her sister, "Serena, honey, you are not thinking correctly, this is Bakura, the most wanted thief in Egypt. Why you fell in love with someone like that I will never know. But you have Atemu, he loves you, he will be the pharaoh, what do you think will happen to Bakura, they will kill him. I don't want you hurt, so please think about this." Serena just looks away. Outside of the bedroom, Yugi is now at the door listening to them on the other side, `Serena is in love with Bakura?? No way…this is not good for Atemu.' Yugi says to himself thinking how this will hurt his brother. "Shuree, I am grown now, you don't have a say in my life. Bakura has never hurt me or done anything to me. He loves me just as much as I love him." Serena says. But Shuree just turns away, shaking her head, and picks up Serena's remaining clothes, "Well you better, clean yourself up. You don't want Atemu to find out that you and Bakura slept together in here." Shuree says handing Serena her clothes. Serena then walks over to her dresser and pulls out some more clothes and heads to the bathroom, "Tell them I will be out in a minute. I am taking a shower and Shuree we didn't sleep together." Serena then disappears into the bathroom leaving her sister standing alone not aware that Yugi heard the whole conversation on the other side, "Then Serena what were you doing in here? Or are you lying about that too." Shuree says to herself. Outside the room, Yugi is hurt and confused, "What am I going to tell Atemu?" Yugi tries to think of what to say to his brother until a hand taps him on the shoulder, "Tell me what little brother??"
