Chapter 5: A Day at the festival

Seto and Jouno entertain the guest, while Bakura entertains himself with a view of Serena…

NOTE: ok, now like I said in my first chapter, I know nothing of dueling so, my boyfriend made the duel that is being described here.

Yugi stood there, petrified as to what he should do, what he should say to his brother; that the woman he loves is in love with another man, a man that is his enemy, who wants to take the throne from him; who wants to kill him. How was he going to tell his brother that Serena never did love him? Could she have been using him? He didn't believe that Serena was capable of using Atemu that way. His thoughts were cut short when Atemu asked the question again, "Yugi?? Is there something wrong? What was that you don't want to tell me??" Atemu asked with a concerned look. Just then Serena and Shuree came out of the bedroom, with Serena wearing a long beige dress with a colorful design along her bust line and sleeves. "Hey guys what's up? Is there something wrong?" Serena asked looking at Yugi as if he saw a ghost, "No everything is just fine. I was trying to tell Atemu that I didn't want to tell him his surprise, he caught me off guard, so I was trying got think of what to say." Yugi said knowing that sounded stupid but relieved that they fell for it, "Ok well, lets go then. We don't want to be late." Serena said and with that headed out the door to the festival.

Back in the thief's lair, Bakura has just finished his shower and has gathered his things together, on his way out to the festival as well, "I am sure Atemu will be taking Serena. So I will just pay a little visit to see them." Bakura said. Suddenly, Malik returns from his little shopping spree, "Oh yeah!! We got a lot of food here to last us months!!" Malik says as he tows in three heavy bags, each with food and jugs of water as well as some more gold. "What did you do raid a whole block of markets?" Bakura asked on his way out. But Malik just chuckled and watched his friend head out the door, knowing where he was going. Outside the lair, Bakura pulls out a little pouch, inside was the necklace he had not long ago, "Soon, I will find a way for us to be together, once Atemu is out of the way, that throne will be mine" with that, Bakura disappeared into the shadows.

At the festival, a lot of dancers and flamethrowers took the show, throughout the festival were markets that sold sake, rice bowls and lots of sweets, one of which was the market that Serena, Shuree and Shizuka work at, which is as of now beginning run by Mai and Isizu. Atemu's friend, Jouno was outside the market occupying little children with crazy acts. "Jouno!! Yo!! Over here!" called out Yugi who tried to get his attention, but Jouno was too busy entertaining to notice. "Don't mind him. He's been like that all through this thing," said a voice behind them. The gang turned to see Mai standing behind them with rice bowls handing them out to each of them, "Mai?? You shouldn't be passing these out without us paying for them right?" asked Serena. But Mai just shook her head and turned her attention to Isizu, who just nodded letting them know it was ok to take them. After feasting on rice and sake, they decided to see the rest of the festival and they run into none other than Seto and his little brother Mokuba, "Oh look!! It's Seto!!" Shuree exclaimed trying to calm herself down. Mokuba makes his way towards the group followed by Seto, "Hey Seto, shouldn't you be training, where is your Millennium Rod?" Atemu asked knowing that Seto is in training to be his right hand priest, Seto and Atemu go back a long way, a time where Seto cared of nothing but power and ruling the world. Back then they were young and Seto didn't know better, but with Atemu's friendship and the others, Seto changed became a better person, but still has a knack for being a self-righteous brat but he is learning. "I am, just taking a break, it is a festival going on around here, there is no need for training in a place like this." Seto said. Suddenly he caught eye of Shuree, then turned heel and made his way of there followed by Mokuba, "Uh see you guys later!!" yelled Mokuba before catching up with his brother, "Hey big brother? What you leave like that for?? Is it because of Shuree, you still having trouble telling her??" asked Mokuba, but Seto just ignored him and went on his way, but then just realized something, he is supposed to be entertaining the guests here, so he goes back to the gang. Back with the others, Jouno finally finished his little gig, "Hey Atemu! Yugi!! How you guys doing??" he said making his way toward them. "Hey big brother!! I missed you. How've you been?" asked Shikuza as she gives her brother a hug. As the gang talk, somewhere in the shadows, Bakura lurks around trying to find Serena, finally finding her he goes back in the alley waiting for her to be alone. As for the gang, Seto has made his way back to them, "Seto? You're back?" asked Serena noticing him and Mokuba standing there, "Yes I forgot that I am entertaining here. And I just thought maybe a duel would lighten things up. What do you say Jouno, you want to duel?" asked Seto with a big grin. Everyone looked shocked at his request, but Jouno, as cocky as he is, accepts. "But Jouno, think about what you just said. This is Seto, the one who beat the last ten times you dueled against him." Yugi said. But Jouno would have nothing of it, "No way, I promised him dat I would continue dueling until I beat him." Jouno says (we are using the ancient duel disk here {Dia Duank} if I even spelled it right, but anyway back to the story) "Oh great this is going to be quick and easy, again.' Mai says she watches the two get prepared for their duel. Serena decides to got and get something sweet, but Shuree stops her, "Hey, where are you going??" asks Shuree as she pulls Serena back, "I am just going to get something to eat. I will be back, you should watch Seto." Serena said leaving with a big smile on her face.

As Serena looks around for a good market, she caught eye of someone looking at her, as she zooms in the figure she sees who it is but the figure disappears, "Bakura?"

Back with the others, Seto and Jouno start their duel, "This shouldn't take long. Come on, runt. We have to entertain our guests to so don't cry when I beat you." Seto says as he gets himself ready. Jouno just smiles and gets ready as well. "Diaha!!" " Summon, FLAME SWORDSMAN!!!" Jouno shouted as his monster was brought from the shrine of monsters. "You're a fool!!" Kaiba laughed as he placed his ancient dueling disk forward. "Rude Kaiser, Come forth!!! Forearm Slash." The green beast appeared and attacked the Flame Swordsman, shattering it. Jouno gripped his chest in pain while Kaiba laughed. "You won't be able to defeat me!!!" Seto Laughed. Jouno growled all the way up to his feet. "You'll eat those words, Kaiba!!! Let's Go! Thousand Dragon!! Attack with Nauseous Nostril Blast!!! "Grrrr…" Kaiba Growled as the large beast came into play, the aged dragon, with it's horned face, and was still a very powerful monster. It inhaled and released its powerful Toxic Breath, melting Rude Kaiser away. Kaiba fell to his knees, his eyes bulging out of their sockets, he was obviously in pain and Surprised that Jouno was able to connect such a powerful blow. As he struggled to stand he noticed Jouno cheesing. "What's the matter, Kaiba? Lost your touch?" "You Dog!!" Seto yelled, "You are dead to me!! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, appear before me!!!" Suddenly a flash of bluish-white light brightened the room, causing Jouno to cover his face. As a roar was heard echoing across the room, Jouno opened his eyes, only to see the creature, Blue-Eyes White Dragon. His mouth dropped to the floor in disbelief. " Now my Blue-Eyes, attack now with White Lightning!!!!!!!!!!!" As the creature shot its blast, Jouno was sent hurtling to the floor in sheer agony, the power of the dragon was far too much for Jouno; he was defeated by Seto.

After the duel, the crowd cheered for their great performance, Jouno just smiled, "I will be coming back for ya. We're not through. I will keep coming after ya until I defeat ya" with that Seto just walked away waving his `friends' goodbye. Once Seto and Mokuba left, Shuree turned her attention to another matter; Serena, now they have to find her, the festival was about the end. Back with Serena she just finished her dessert but can't keep her mind of the fact that she probably saw Bakura. But her thoughts were interrupted when she heard the voice of her sister calling her, "Serena!! Where are you!! Serena!!" Serena looked one more time for Bakura and went back to the gang, "I'm over here sis!" Serena yelled out. Finally catching up to them, Bakura was still watching Serena from he shadows, angry that he couldn't get her alone. "Well there is always tonight." Bakura said with sly grin, then he disappears in the shadows. Back with Serena and the others, Shuree begins asking her where was she, what was she doing, who was she with, unaware that the others were just staring at her and Yugi looking very worried, `I hope she wasn't with Bakura' says Yugi, Atemu then comes up to Serena, "Serena is it ok that I spend the night over your house?" Atemu asks. But Serena shakes he head telling him no, not really paying attention to him, still thinking about Bakura, "Serena? Can I talk to you for a minute?" Shuree asks, she pulls Serena away from the group. "Serena? Where were you?" Shuree asks her "I was going to get something to eat, like I said, I just came from the cotton candy stand." Serena says. But Shuree shakes her head, knowing her sister better than that, "Was Bakura here with you?" Serena just turns away from her, "Now that's wrong! Why would Bakura be here, in a place full of people." Serena yells, Shuree just looks at her and shrugs it off and makes her way back to the group. "Well shall we go home now." Isizu says as she picks up her bag and leaves along with the others.

Finally home, Serena takes a shower and puts on a cotton knee length t-shirt, closes the window, taking one last peek at the moon before making her way to the bed. Outside her window, Bakura waits for her to go to bed before using his Millennium Ring to unlock and open the window, as he makes his way towards Serena, he watches her breath in and out as her chest goes up and down. Blowing out the candle that was light next to her, he takes out the little pouch with the necklace; he then proceeds to take off his cloak and approaches closer to Serena's bed. Suddenly Serena feels that someone is next to her an jumps up from her sleep, but she can't make out the figure in front of her, but has a pretty good idea who it is, "Bakura?" she says but gets no response, instead the figure lightly caresses her cheek, "It's nice that you are able to recognize me in the dark" Serena then realize that it is Bakura, "Wait what are you ding here. We are going to get caught." Serena says trying to get out of the bed, but Bakura grabs her and pulls her closer to him, "Don't tell me that you invited that fool over here?" Bakura ask. Serena shakes her head and tenses, feeling Bakura hard chest rub against her, "Well why are you here? It's late." Serena says pushing him away. Bakura just smiles, then pulls the blankets off her and gets in the bed next to her, "I came to give you something, and more…" with that he kisses her passionately.
