"He has come," repeated Seth, getting to his feet as the great beast slowly lowered itself onto the roof.

"Thou hast heard my cry, and has heeded my command," Seth said, walking forward. "O noble messenger of the Gods, I beseech thee, curb thy masters wrath. The people of Egypt should shall suffer no more. Take this sacrifice, to please thy masters as they wish. The finest virgin of the land kneels before thee."

Chione swallowed hard. Some virgin she was.

Suddenly a flash of lightning split the heavens and Chione found herself kneeling before a dragon, to be more specific, the Blue Eyes White Dragon, the messenger of the Gods, and the mythical savior of the Egyptians. Seth scooped her up, and holding her, he walked toward the great beast, who merely watched. He set her before the dragon, and backed away, respectively. She bowed her head respectively before the mighty dragon. A razor-sharp claw was lightly pushed into her chin, as the dragon moved her head up, so that it could stare into her eyes. Not worthy of looking into its eyes, Chione averted her own. The dragon tilted his own head and let out a massive roar, which rang in the air. It echoed up to the heavens, and the fiery eyes of the beast burned into her soul.

"What?" Seth exclaimed. "You mean to say this girl is no longer a virgin?" He looked at Chione, his eyes questioning. She sank to the ground, shame filling her entire being. Unable to look up at either of them, she began to weep softly.

"I demand to know who took away your virginity."

She looked up at him, her eyes bleary.

"Tell me," he said his voice low and dangerous.

"It…it was the…" she stuttered, then whispered. "..the Pharaoh…"

The High Priest's eyes glinted dangerously, "So, the Pharaoh has sunk so low as to taint the pure. Well, he has made his final mistake. Enough, Adio, get this girl out of my sight."

Adio grabbed her roughly, and dragged her down the stairs. She lay on the ground sobbing, crumpled and defeated. The boy's heart was moved by the pathetic sight.

He lifted her face up, and wiping the tears off her soiled face, he said, "I'd run away, tomorrow everyone will know of what you have done. I'm not sure you could take that. So leave, run away to a place where they know nothing of your past. Start your life over."

So saying he turned his back on her, hesitating, and then reaching into his robes, and withdrawing something. He tossed a purse full of money towards her. It landed beside her, the chink of coins sounded as it hit the floor. Then, wavering again, he gave her his cloak and her sandals which she had dropped. Then he left. At last, she looked up; she grabbed the cloak, and slipped on the sandals. Then she quietly left the temple, leaving the money, and letting her feet take her where they pleased. She didn't know where she was going, but that place was surely better than here.
