It didn't sound like a wolf howl. It wasn't even remotely close to a wolf howl. The cry resounded into Osiris' cozy cove, making the air fall flat with somber. He retreated from his den to seek the irritating bay. He didn't have to look far. Despite Osiris' night vision, he couldn't see the culprit of the cry. He stood in the very alley where he kept his captive, the very alley that he had followed the sound. The captive! He turned toward Jeto, his eyes straining to see into the black abyss. All he could perceive were two, bright aqua cat eyes and pearly white teeth glistening with the settling night dew. Osiris let out a shuttering breath before he gazed up above the buildings, noticing there was no moon tonight, only the starless sky that the city lights blinded from view. He stood in the one pathway that didn't have one single trace of a street lamp or wall light. He peered at his hostage once again, getting the sickening notion that Jeto wasn't there anymore, just a large black cat howling into the night.

;;..;;..;;

Seto answered the door and was flabbergasted to see who was on the other side. “Tristan?”

The man nodded once as he passed the CEO into the house. “If I had known it was you I'd come more prepared,” the shorter brunet sneered.

Kaiba grunted. “So you're the best Japan has?”

Tristan smirked and shrugged. “What? You were expecting Sherlock Holmes? Give me a break man! This is the twenty first century.”

“Tristan? Is that really you?” Joey asked as he came down from upstairs and approached the detective cautiously.

“Eh?” The man turned in Joey's direction, his eyes widening in disbelief. “Joey? Hey! I heard you'd be coming back this year!” He grabbed Joey by the shoulders and hugged him tightly. “So, how's the new life been treatin' ya?” He winked at the teen in indication.

Joey blushed and chuckled. “It's actually better!”

Tristan nodded with a grin. “Good to hear buddy! Good to hear!”

The CEO cleared his throat. “Listen, I'd like to carry on with this little chit chat, but our son is missing!”

The detective made a little ooh sound as his lips formed into an o of understanding. “Right! Back to business.” He brought out a small memo pad and pencil from his pocket and marked something down. “What happened first?”

Seto snarled. “What good are police if they can't even tell you what happened, their selves?” He abruptly turned away from Tristan throwing his arms up into the air in aggravation.

“It's not the D.P.D's-1- job to tell me what's happened. That's YOUR job!” Tristan pointed the butt of his pencil at Seto's back. “Besides, it's more reliable if you hear it from the eyewitness yourself.”

Joey stood beside his lover, stroking his back gently. “Take deep breaths, Seto and tell Tristan what happened.”

The man nodded and started to relax his breathing. “My son, Jeto was kidnapped the night before last while we were asleep.”

“I'm going to expect you don't know what time exactly.” Tristan stated as he wrote down the CEO's information.

“The police said that it could have taken place the moment he had gotten into bed by how long the blood had dried into the sheets,” Joey answered.

“Blood?” Tristan asked undaunted. “So there was possibly a struggle?”

Both Seto and Joey replied with a yes.

“Jeto's sheets were thrown every where around his bed,” Joey explained

Tristan nodded. “I see. Was there anything else that may help me further?”

Joey and Seto exchanged glances.

The CEO pulled out a small baggy of white fur from his duster pocket. “They don't know what it's from exactly. They told us they would call once they found out.” Seto jumped slightly as he felt his cell phone vibrate against his thigh. “Uh…speaking of the devil.” He brought out the phone and answered it. “Hello? Yes. Are you sure?” He quickly hung up and replaced the small item back into his pocket. “That was them. They said it belongs to a white chimera lion…”

“What's the matter?” Tristan observed.

Seto stared off into space for a moment. “White chimera lions aren't known around Japan. They belong in the western regions of Europe and Africa.”

Joey stared at him questionably. “How do you know all of this?”

Seto smirked. “You have to know everything when one of your own children is a chimera.”

“Good point.” Joey smiled.

“Your son is a chimera as well?” The conversation irked Tristan a bit. “That tells me a lot.”

The CEO winced. “Erm…he's not fully chimera. He's only part…still.”

Joey blinked at his lover's response.

Tristan sighed. “So you're having doubts that he'll remain the way he is?”

Seto nodded reluctantly. “I just feel like I've been neglecting him more than I should.”

“Does your son have any friends?”

“No…well…yeah. Only one, but I don't think he had anything to do with it. He's not even a chimera.”

“How do you know he didn't have anything to do with it?”

“…he's Jeto's half-brother.”

Joey held back a gasp. He remembered that Seto mentioned he had another son named Tet, the one he thought he would never get to know. Of course, since he lodged that into his mind, he never registered that it would be Tet Kaiba becoming friends with Jeto Kaiba. To him it was just another kid named Tet. /That's why he wanted to talk to him outside the other day. / Joey thought. /It wasn't to get to know him. / He sighed irritably to himself.

Seto noted the deep intake of breath from his small lover.

Tristan also noticed, but ignored it. “If Jeto's friend comes by, please keep him here and tell me. I'd like to ask him some questions.” He brought out a small card and gave it to Seto. “That's my cell phone number. I keep it on at all times.”

“Alright.” Seto spoke earnestly, “Thank you for the help, Taylor.”

“Hey, Seto? This isn't exactly comforting, but no-matter what I'll find your son. You may or may not like the outcome, but I won't stop until I find him.”

Seto nodded slowly. “Yes…”

Joey led Tristan to the door and gave the detective another hug before he left. He turned back to Seto who had suddenly fell back against the nearest wall and slid down it until he was sitting on the floor weeping, his face buried in his hands and Tristan's card dangling between his fingers. That was something Joey would never expect from Seto. However, Jeto was part of the family; so, it hurt him more than losing a close friend.

“I…I'll never…forgive myself if something happens to…him,” Seto stuttered.

The blonde kneeled by Seto's side and wrapped his arms around the man's body. “Please don't cry Seto. We'll…find him…” Now he was the one that couldn't hold back his tears. He sobbed into Seto's chest allowing the man to return his hug and comfort.

Meanwhile, at the top of the stairs, Aurora sat with Destin in his lap, hugging him. They heard everything that they had said, even about Tet. Why, of all times, did Aurora have to feel like he wasn't part of the family anymore? This whole time he was someone else's baby, not Joey's. Everything was just a lie, something to tug him along to keep him going, to feel like he was wanted. He buried his nose into Destin's hair, contemplating on what he should do now.
