Chapter 20
Happy Valentines Day
Congratulations, Anubiset!
Even though Akuchan's and Anubiset's had partially the same answers, Anubiset's hair color and style caught my attention.
However, I want to thank Akuchan, Ryouni, CrossHunt-s, TsukasaTheFoaminian, and Belletiger for also entering! -hugs- You're all the greatest!

Eros made the first move, starting out with a flying kick.
Jeto awkwardly grinned as he waited for the blow. “Come on. Come on,” he insisted lowly. Just as the other's foot practically made contact with Jeto's chest, he grabbed Eros' leg, swung him around in five complete circles, and sent him flying clear across the ring, but not far enough to fall off the edge.
Eros grumbled as he got to his feet with cat like ease.
“I thought you said you could beat me, Eros,” Jeto sneered. “I don't see that happening.”
“Give me time,” Eros replied. “You haven't seen my potential exploits yet.”
Jeto smirked. “Potential exploits?” He crossed his arms over his chest and gazed at his opponent with interest. “Well, I don't have all day. Let's see what you have.”
Eros nodded once before kicking into a fast run. He moved left to right with quick ease, actually throwing Jeto off. He then vanished into thin air.
Jeto blinked, not catching where his challenger disappeared too. “Huh?”
“Behind you,” Eros chuckled. He lifted his arm and hit the back of Jeto's neck, sending the cat into the marbled floor.
The cat grunted as he landed hard. However, he quickly regained his composure and flipped two times away from Eros. “Damn, you're fast!”
Eros' hood concealed the wide grin on his face. “Isn't it familiar, Jeto?”
“No, not really,” Jeto replied smugly. “Enough talking!” He leaped forward with his claws outstretched. He suddenly landed on his hands and knees when Eros had vanished again. /I wish he'd stop doing that! / His ears twitched when the air above him shifted from cloth flowing against it. He rolled onto his side, dodging a foot against his back. The action abruptly reminded him of the battle with Mercury, and then the many battles before. “You've been using my techniques!”
The figure nodded. “Yes, I've witnessed many of your battles, and studied your moves. Needless to say, I've become you, only better.”
Jeto growled irritably. “You stole my moves, you fraud!”
“Yes, but you can't defeat me now,” Eros infuriated.
The cat didn't see the swift motion from Eros, as he moved behind him and tried to kick his legs out from under him. However, Jeto's mind processed it quicker. He jumped into the air, barely missing Eros' leg. “Now I've got you!”
Eros noticed the move and tried to dodge the cat's landing. He gasped as Jeto landed on top of his back and pressed his arms and legs down against the marble. He struggled to escape Jeto's grasp. “Eh! Get off me!” He never noticed that his hood fell back from the force of the air rushing against his face.
Jeto gapped at the back of the head he was staring at right now. “I know only one guy who has black hair with silver streaks and panther ears. Patience Pegasus!” His eyebrow twitched irritably.
Eros, formerly known as Patience, grinned awkwardly. “Oh, I see my hood fell off.” He stared at Jeto from over his shoulder and smirked. “What? It was the only way you would fight me.”
“I don't care! I have reasons that I don't want to face you in the arena. One, of being me kicking your ass!” Jeto scolded.
Patience snorted. “What are the other reasons?”
“Your father and mother!” Jeto replied with a frown.
“Uh…excuse me, Jeto? Are you the victor…or is the battle still going on?” Ten asked, peeking up from the edge of the arena.
Jeto sighed. “Yes, declare me as the winner!”
Ten smiled. “Sure thing!” She ran around the marbled stadium to face the audience. “Once again, Jeto is our winner!”
The crowd cheered and rooted again for the black cat. “Jeto! Jeto! Jeto!”
“Ah, man!” Patience groaned as he lifted himself up onto his feet. “I was so sure I could beat you!” He sweatdropped when he noticed that Jeto wasn't even paying attention, but instead waving to his fans and grinning.
“Thank you! Thank you very much!” Jeto obliged.
Patience rolled his eyes. “I swear, if that ego gets any bigger, you'll become Seto Kaiba.” As he turned away, he felt a tight pressure against his ear, causing him to whimper.
“How many times have I told you that combat is dangerous?” A thick, affluent tone asked.
The panther pulled away from the hand to gaze up at his father, Pegasus. “Uh…dad? What are you doing here? I thought you didn't like fighting tournaments.”
Pegasus closed his one eye, crossed his arms, and sighed. “I don't, but Jeto here invited me and your mother. I'm not about to disappoint the kid who's like a second son to me.”
Patience frowned as he rubbed his sore ear. “He's only lived with us for a year.”
“So?” Pegasus argued. “It doesn't even have to take a year for him to feel like family!” He looked around the arena for his husband. “Dukems? where are you?”
“I really wish you wouldn't call me that in public, Pegasus.” Duke approached his taller lover with a scold in his expression.
Pegasus chuckled. “I know, but it's so cute!” He hugged Duke closely and kissed him deeply. He broke away and purred softly, “Imagine. We could have been doing that today if Jeto hadn't invited us here.”
Duke stared half dazed at Pegasus. “Oh…yeah…” He blushed faintly as he pressed their lips together again.
“Mom! Dad! Not in public!” Patience groaned as he looked away and gagged.
Jeto chuckled as he wrapped his arm around Patience's shoulders. “Awe! What's the matter? Can't handle public display of affection?”
The panther blushed. “…not from…them…” He stared up at Jeto's face and quirked an eyebrow. “Why aren't you disgusted by it?”
“They're not my real parents. So I don't care.” Jeto walked away with a sort of perk in his stride. As he reached the edge of the stadium, the judges handed him a small trophy, which read `Winner of the Month! Jeto Kaiba!' It wasn't as big as the `Winner of the Year' trophy that Jeto never received; it was actually twice as bigger. Since Jeto had started staying with them, he didn't know about the tournament until almost at the end of the year, so he only received three `Winner of the Month' trophies. However, this year he was going for the king of trophies, or trying to at least.
Patience watched intently as the cat approached him. Ever since Jeto had moved in with them, he formed an envious crush. An insane crush that if it made Jeto look good, Patience would want him more, just for envious reasons. He barely acknowledged that Jeto was speaking to him as he gazed at the chest moving side to side, as the cat walked. Perfection was the only word to describe him.
“Are you going to come home with me, or with your mom and dad, Patience?” Jeto asked.
The panther blinked. “Huh…oh…uh. I'll go home with you…if that's okay.”
Jeto nodded. “Yeah, it's fine.”
Patience smiled as he walked over to his parents, whom had finally stopped making out. “Dad. I'm going to come home with Jeto. Is that alright?”
Pegasus nodded. “Of course! It gives me and your mother a little…ahem…free time.”
Duke's face flushed a crimson red. “Pegasussssss,” he groaned.
“Oh, the burden of not being naïve!” Patience complained. “I'm so scarred right now I think I'm bleeding.”
Jeto laughed loudly. “Awe! Poor you!” He grabbed Patience's hand and pulled him from the arena. “Come on! Let's get home so I can take a shower and have supper. I'm starving!” He never noticed the blush cross over the bridge of the panther's nose.

The drive home took longer than Patience liked and the silence was killing him. He anxiously fiddled with his fingers and the seatbelt wrapped around his waist. He finally spoke, ending the deafening peace. “Hey, Jeto, do you know what today is?”
Jeto glanced at the panther from the corner of his eye. “No. What is today?”
Patience smiled timidly. “It's Valentines Day.”
“Oh, yeah!” Jeto smirked. “I almost forgot about the presents I left in the trunk.”
“Presents?” Patience asked with curiosity. “Did you get something for all of us?”
“Um…no…actually. The presents are from them to you.” Jeto noted the distraught expression from Patience. “What's the matter? I thought you always loved getting presents from your parents.”
The panther nodded. “I do…I was just hoping…” He fell silent, not wanting to carry the conversation into unknown territory.
Jeto smiled and reached in front of Patience to open the glove box. A red rose popped out with a tag attached, which read To: Patience From: Jeto, with love! “Is that what you were hoping for?”
Patience stared at the rose and then at Jeto.
“For once, you don't have anything to say?” Jeto laughed. “What kind of friend would I be if I didn't get you anything?”
/Friend? / Patience weakly smiled as he took the rose out from the glove department and smelled the sweet aroma. “Thanks, Jeto. You're the greatest.”
“You don't sound all too happy. Did I say something wrong?” Jeto asked with concern.
The shorter teen chuckled nervously. /As if you just read my mind. / “No, of course not. I just…suddenly came down with something.” /Take a chance Damnit! Tell him how you really feel before it's too late. /
“Really?” Jeto placed the back of his hand against Patience's cheek. “Hm, you don't feel warm. Maybe you have an upset stomach. Too much excitement today, huh?”
Patience took a deep breath as he unbuckled himself from his seatbelt. “Jeto, I have something to tell you.”
“So tell me.” Jeto smiled warmly as he gazed at the shorter teen, now leaning close to him. His ears flattened nervously as he could feel the other's warm breath against his skin. “Uh…Patience…what are you doing?”
The panther purred softly, using his hand to grip Jeto's chin, and forced him to make eye contact. “I'm showing how I feel about you,” he whispered and then pressed their lips together, earning a muffled moan from the black cat.
Jeto tried desperately to keep his eyes on the road ahead and concentrate on his steering. His eyes widened when he felt something slick slide across his bottom and upper lip. He abruptly stopped the car in the middle of the street that they lived on, and pushed the panther away. “What the hell is the matter with you? I'm driving!”
Patience chuckled. “So what you're saying is that I can kiss you when you're not driving?”
“…no…” Jeto breathed and started down the avenue again. “If you're going to confess something like that to me again, warn me next time so I can put up a front.” He growled tetchily.
The panther sighed and started playing with the petals on his rose. “I'm…sorry, Jeto. I didn't mean to startle you.”
The taller teen just nodded, accepting the other's apology. /Great! Now I have another one that has a crush on me. However, at least he isn't my brother. / He sighed deeply as he closely observed the panther, idly stroking the silky rose petals. /Oh…gawd! Imagine him touching me like that. / A shudder ran up his spine to the mere thought. /No! Stop that! /
The rest of the drive home resolved in silence.

A/N: Hee hee hee! Doesn't Patience know? Black cats are bad luck! XD I doubt that, but it couldn't help to be safe. -wears a horseshoe around her neck- o.o'
Okay, nice reviews please! I'm a hoe! I give you story while you pay me with reviews! XD
I also really need to warn people not to criticize. It's just a small warning. As much I appreciate them, it's just…after working on it for some odd months now, I really don't want to go back and change it. -.- I might later…when I'm in the mood…which isn't often. n.n' However, when it comes to summaries, I can take all the advice I need.
