A/N: Yay for the reviews! Thanks to everyone for helping me and commenting on my story. You're all so nice. Why am I saying this so soon? Well, the story is about over with…but we still have to decide who the heir to Kaiba Corp. will be. Many of you don't want Tet because he's a jerk and needs to disappear to the far regions of outer space, but then that just leaves us with Destin and Jeto. Should Jeto return home to his fathers and become the heir? Stay with the Pegasus family and have…kittens?...with Patience and have Destin become heir? Return home WITH Patience, have kittens, and become heir, or should he and Patience just disappear together and never be heard from again? XD I don't really swing toward the last idea, cause that'll just swing toward more opportunities for a story that I don't want to go into because it'll be way off from the main characters of the show. So what do think?
Chapter 26
Hey, the Timing isn't Always Right!
3-3-3-3
Tet had stayed in the Pegasus manor for two weeks, allowing the family to take care of him until his wounds completely healed. However, it wasn't exactly a glorious two weeks. Patience and Tet were constantly at each other's throats whenever Jeto was around. To Patience, it was bad enough the slayer shared the same bed with Jeto.
There was a sneaking suspicion that Tet was having his way with the cat when Patience wasn't looking. If it were happening, the smell of Jeto's heat, practically suffocating the house to a panther's point of view, would have diminished. So maybe, Patience could still have his chance with the black cat.
Today, though, one way or another, Tet's future was about to change.
“You're really pushing it, Tet!” Patience grumbled as he tore a piece of paper from the slayer's hands. “I don't have time for this.” The teen tried to race downstairs so he could greet his parents and give them his book report over why Egypt was his favorite country.
Tet sneered as he chased after the panther and grabbed him by his ponytail. “Wait a minute here!”
Patience's head jerked back from the harsh tug. “Ack! Come on, Tet! Let me go. My report is due today. I need to give it to my parents so I can…uh…go to the arcade…yeah.”
”Sure, whatever.” Tet enjoyed seeing the panther struggle, including if it had something to do with Jeto. “There is no way I'm going to let you `play' with the kitty. Not while I'm around anyways.” He reached over Patience's shoulder and grabbed the report, then released the panther's ponytail and smirked. “You'll have to write a million book reports before that happens.”
Patience lunged for his homework, but Tet's hand against his face abruptly cut him off. “Give it back you jerk!” He aimlessly tried to scratch the slayer's face so he would drop the sheet of paper in defense, but it was a futile attempt. The panther dropped his arms in defeat and pulled away from his rival's hand. “I really hate you, you know that?”
Tet smiled curtly. “I know. But it's well worth it!” He folded the piece of paper into a small square and tucked it into his shirt pocket. “Now, the only way to retrieve the sheet of paper is to grope me, but I know you don't want to do that.”
“That's right, you pervert! I wouldn't even grope you with skunk shit.”
The slayer shuttered as he peered at the panther with a bored expression. “That's disgusting.”
Patience snorted. “When are you going to leave?”
“I'm not.”
“What? Why? You're completely healed.”
Tet smirked. “I'm not going to leave until Jeto decides he's going to leave as well.”
“He's not going to leave!” Patience exclaimed as he tackled the young man to the floor. “Now give me back my homework before I give you a reason why YOU shouldn't stay!”
“Damn, you filthy chimera!” Tet was actually stunned from the quick reaction by the panther.
They both rolled on the floor punching and screaming at each other.
Jeto opened the door from hearing all of the commotion and stared paralyzed by the obscene sight. On the floor lied two disheveled forms. They had ripped their shirts profusely, revealing almost all over their upper bodies and the sweat shining off their lean muscles. Then there was the fact that Patience lied underneath Tet, appearing like an innocent virgin. Both were breathing heavily as if they had just broken apart from kissing each other. He cleared his throat nervously with a frustrated blush. “Um…guys? Couldn't you do that somewhere else instead of the hall? Somewhere like Patience's bedroom?” He winced from the sound of his tone. There was a hint of envy.
Patience blinked at the comment. “What? It's not what it looks like!” He shoved the slayer off him and ambled toward Jeto. “He took my homework and I was trying to get it back. Please, believe me!” He latched onto Jeto's leg and whimpered. “I would never do such a thing with a pervert like that.”
“Heh.” Jeto smirked at the way the panther was behaving. However, the feeling of covetousness had vanished. He looked up at Tet. “Do you have his homework, Tet?”
Tet snorted. “Yeah, but it was for a good reason.”
“And what reason was that?” Jeto asked.
“You're so naïve, Jeto,” Tet boasted as he stood and approached the cat. “He wanted to `hang' out with you after he gave his homework to his parents.”
Jeto stared at his brother perplexed. “What's wrong with hanging out?”
Tet laughed and leaned in to capture the teen's lips. “You're so cute!” A sharp pain in his leg cut him off. “Ouch!”
Patience snickered as he backed away from Tet's leg. “Serves you right.”
“He bit me!” Tet exclaimed, once again showing his surprise for Patience catching him off guard. He lifted his pant leg to observe the teeth marks on the back of his ankle. “You better hope you've had your rabbi shot,” Tet growled.
Jeto sighed in relief and stared at the panther hiding behind his legs. Sometimes, he was relieved to have Patience around when Tet was. He came in handy. However, other times he could become a real horn dog. He reached out toward Tet and smiled. “Come on Tet, give me his homework. I don't know why you have to be so mean to him.”
/If you only knew! / Tet thought irritably. He scrounged threw his ripped pocket for the square piece of paper and handed it to Jeto. “Here. You're going to be sorry.”
Jeto smirked. “Well, I'm sure it isn't anything too serious.” He gave Patience's homework back and watched as the panther raced down the hall to get to his parents. Jeto then followed pursuit, Tet right behind him.
As soon as they were downstairs, they could hear Duke in the kitchen complaining about his son's ripped shirt.
“This is the third time you've torn one of your good shirts to shreds.” Duke pulled the shirt off over his son's shoulders and stared at it disgruntled. “What are you always doing?”
“Mom, I didn't mean to. It was an accident,” Patience pleaded.
Duke scolded, “It's always an accident with you.”
Patience winced and smirked nervously. “At least I got my homework done.” He handed a small square of paper to his mother.
“Yes, well, I'm surprised that IT still stayed in contact.” Duke grabbed the aforementioned homework and headed toward his and Pegasus' study. “By the way. There's a guest in the living room, so please be polite…and put on a decent shirt.”
The panther blushed. “Sure mom.” Patience heard a snicker from outside the kitchen and realized immediately who it was. “Tet, you jerk! Thanks to you I got in trouble!” He stared at the slayer, whose shirt didn't seem nearly as tousled now as it had before. “I ought to beat you ten ways straight!”
“I'd like to see you try it.” Tet laughed.
“That's enough,” Jeto demanded calmly. His ears folded back against his head as two people approached from behind them.
Tet stared at the cat quizzically and then to the two arrivals. “Oh.”
Patience frowned at their visitor. “Some visitor,” he scoffed.
“Patience!” Pegasus barked. “Be polite.”
The guest chuckled. “It's alright, Pegasus.” He turned toward Patience and grinned with his arms extended for a hug. “How's my favorite panther doing?”
Patience sighed as he gave a smile. “Fine, Uncle Mahado!” He lunged into the man's arms and hugged him tightly. “How come you haven't been by in four weeks? You promised you'd be over every week to see me.”
“I'm sorry kiddo. I just kept getting swamped with work,” Mahado explained and stroked the top of Patience's head.
Tet blinked. “He looks familiar,” he whispered to Jeto.
Jeto smirked as he peered at Tet. “That's because he's the Dark Magician and also the one who owns DM Inc.”
“What?” /Jeeze, he's even better looking without the purple outfit. / Tet mused.
Mahado noted that one of the other teens were observing him and looked up. He spotted Tet instantly. “Who's this handsome young man?” He inquired as he released Patience and approached the auburn haired teen. “I believe I haven't seen him before.”
Tet smiled teasingly. “That's because I'm new here.”
Pegasus chuckled. “Yes, our dear Jeto brought him here because he was injured.”
“I've heard of humans bringing stray cats home, but cats bringing stray humans home? That's droll.” Mahado grabbed Tet's chin and lifted it to analyze his face clearer. “You look awfully familiar. What's your name?” He pulled away to wait for a reply.
“I'm Tet Kaiba,” the slayer responded. “I'm a chimera slayer.”
“Ah yes! The infamous chimera slayer. But aren't you the heir to Kaiba Corp. as well?” Mahado asked, beginning to circle the teen for further study.
Tet nodded. “Yes sir, I am.”
Mahado noticed a rip in the back of Tet's shirt. He abruptly stuck his finger through the cleavage and thoroughly caressed the young man's spine.
Tet shivered violently and turned to stare at the mage. “What are you doing?”
“I couldn't resist,” the man chuckled seductively.
The chuckle left a warm sensation flying from Tet's gut to his groin. He would have gone down on his knees in a second if the mage had commanded him to.
Pegasus cleared his throat. “Um…I believe my husband is about to make supper soon. Please, if we could all make ourselves comfortable in the den.”
The scene had fixated the two virgin teens.
Mahado nodded. “Yes, I think that would be more appropriate for a conversation.”
Tet nodded dumbly.
They all followed Pegasus to a separate room and continued with their chat from there.
