Chapter 2: Cell Mate
What was that annoying noise?
The tri colored boy stirred, pain suddenly washing over his body in nauseous waves. A small groan escaped his tightened throat as he rolled over on his side. It took a minute for him to realize his eyes where already open, for no trace of light could be found anywhere. For a long time he stared into the oblivion, until he decided that it would do no good, it was just too black.
Propping himself up on his elbows, the young slave struggled to push up into a sitting position. With a grunt he pushed he upper body from the ground slowly and then let out a small sigh as his back came into contact with cool stone.
His head throbbed. It felt as though at any given moment it would burst into pieces. Lifting a small hand to the pint point of the pain, the back of his head, he winced as it came in contact with a large, tender bump. Tears began to whelm up in his eyes as the pain increased from just the tiny brush from his fingers.
A rustle came from his left and fear rose in a swollen lump into his chest. Chains dragging across stone with a small rustle of cloth met his ears. He recognized it as the noise that had awakened him just moments ago. Gulping he mustered up as much courage as he could.
"W…w…who's there?" Yugi managed to squeak out, his voice not seeming to belong to him.
A deep, cold chuckle seemed to come from everywhere at once. Wildly Yugi looked around, momentarily forgetting that he could see nothing.
"Don't be frightened, soon you shall be able to see"
The voice again seemed to be coming from everywhere at once, and although it was giving him words of comfort, the small boy didn't like the cold edge buried deep under the words. Then again, the strangers voice did seem to be helping him.
"Who are you" His courage returning, Yugi demanded to know who this stranger was.
Again the cold chuckle that sent shivers down Yugi's spine.
"It does not matter, but if you wish to know I am called Kura for short, and that is all you need to know."
Yugi took slight offence at the sharpness of this stranger's tone. Managing to force out a small 'oh', the small boy started to feel around his surroundings.
"If you are looking for the other, he is to your left."
Now the voice was kinder again, or as kind as it had been. At first Yugi was confused and grouped around at his left. Soon his hands came in contact with a warm lump. Running his hands tenderly down it, he realized it was a body.
"Jou!" The small boy murmured, surprised but relieved.
…………………… ……
The small one looked so much like him it was unbelievable!
White hair thrust away from his head in crazy patterns as his mouth turned up in a distorted sneer.
He was defiantly going to have some fun with this one.
Bakura shifted once more, watching the Pharaoh's look-a-like struggle to pull his companion closer. So much did he look like the Pharaoh but so different was his personality. He seemed, as crazy as it was, completely innocent, even though he looked to be about fifteen or sixteen years of age.
When they guards had thrown these two down with him, Bakura had thought at first that is was the Pharaoh himself. On further inspection he proved himself wrong. This look-a-like was shorter, scrawnier, and his features where not a sharp as the one who had thrown him down here.
Bakura growled deeply at the thought.
Damn Pharaoh.
His life was perfect, rich beyond belief, and getting richer, until that Pharaoh caught him raiding a tomb. Not knowing of the Pharaoh's past, Bakura had challenged him to a duel. Unknowingly he had stepped right into a trap, and underestimating the Pharaoh's skill, was beaten very quickly and thrown down here. He swore revenge on the Pharaoh as the guards had drug him down to the dungeon, and now, with this look-a-like in his grasp, he might finally be able to achieve it. After all, he always kept his word.
Again a sneer dominated his face as he looked to the boy opposite from him.
"So, boy, what's your name?"
