Genie in a Bottle
Chapter1: locked up for centuries

The vast pebbles carried in the might gust of wind blew through the immense valley of, coated with large hillsides of endless sand. There, the Sahara, was a dangerous place to venture. The storms lasted days at a time and groups of travelers where said to have vanished during a sandstorm while heading to their destinations.

Beneath the millions of pounds of sands laid hidden taverns filled with priceless artifacts and treasure vaults brimming with piles of jewels, coins. These taverns were what bands of thieves and nomads sought after, however few have ever had the luck of the gods, and found one.

The mighty pharaoh Yami, of Egypt had decided on a day that was claimed favorable by the high priest that he sent out three caravans to try and locate at least one of the many hidden taverns. After all, the wind's current was impressive for that time of year and strong winds meant that these ruins of temples from long ago had emerged from the weight of the sand, the wind had discarded of.

The pharaoh wasn't interested in more wealth, hell, he was the mightiest ruler of the kingdom. He was richer than his own taste, and the only thing he desired from this expedition was some of the forgotten scriptures, and scrolls left behind that had great knowledge in their context.

“Please Jou, make sure that any sort of tablets or sources of information are collected. Please feel free to keep any treasures that fall claim to you.” The young ruler spoke, down to his personal bodyguard and comrade.

The youthful blonde stood from his kneeling position and nodded gracefully back, “You are to gracious, my pharaoh.” Jou was a lean, muscular young man. With deep-set ocean blue gems for eyes, he was a passionate man, considering his age he was mature. A person you could depend on in hectic times as these,

Before him sat the also young pharaoh Yami, He was just has handsome as the rumors. He had the female royalty quivering for his affections, but none of then seemed to stand out to him. He wasn't impressed easily, but he was kind, and humble about it. Never hurting any of his admirers emotionally,

He had gorgeous radiant violet hued, diamond cut eyes. That he was complimented on regularly, He had unique hair as well, not common at all to Egyptians at all. His tall tri-colored stood high, it was partially gold, blonde and when hitting the light correctly it gave off a brilliant shimmer.

His facial features were just as breath taking as his other lower ones, he had a strong, yet healthy build to him, with toned arms and a chiseled chest. He was simply attractive, suiting his kind persona.

Yami was a fair ruler and the people of all stature respected him for it, it was well known he was very popular in his empire, so an overthrowing was just a vague thought.

“I trust in you my friend, you are a true friend, Jou.” Yami told him, gesturing a warm smile. Singling him to be on his way with the huge groups of armed soldiers, also in the throne room.

“I am ecstatic for their return, I hope I can find some useful tablets…” thought the young ruler, as he rested his head back against his stone throne chair. His eyes drifting shut,

Ten days after their departure the small caravans had ranged through the infinite desert searching for the temples left in ruins. Jou and his accomplice, Honda grew weary of the long journey, still not uncovering anything let alone a lost temple.

The orange sun burned brightly against the horizon, beginning to retreat behind the mountains of coarse powder, the sky was painted with pastels of orange and brimming golden as evening soon set in. Preparing for nightfall.

“Jou! You see anything yet!” Honda shouted from down beside the huge hill constructed of pure sand, and he stood in the crowds of his anxious men. “I got one of those feelings,”

Up upon the elevated plain was Jou holding one of high priest Seth's latest creations a telescope. A makeshift one nonetheless, Seth didn't trust his brother in-law enough to give him a more delicate one. It had the ability to view a long distance away just by looking threw it, the blonde was most impressed. “Hold on, lem'me…” He pause shifting his gaze to the left,

Around him the wind picked up and the sand pebbles brushed up and danced gracefully with the current, making the soldiers more discomforted. The last thing they all wanted is to be forever lost in a desert storm, Honda became tense as well and called “Jou do you see anything or not! We may have to take shelter there's a storm brewing!”

But it looked as if his fellow royal guard member was ignoring his ranting, he never looked away from the telescope once, still determined there was something out there.

“Wait a minute I think I--!” hidden beside a large mound adjacent to it was a structure that looked as though it had been in fact one of the ruins they had desired to find in their prolonged search. “Found it!” He cried out happily and he treaded towards what he had seen, he thick, rugged boots kicking out splashes of sand.

The brunette watched in confusion as his long time friend ran frantically in another direction screaming incoherent things, not understanding his excitement at first. “Jou what are you doing!?”

Jou shielded his sensitive eyes from the bright rays of the evening sun, not stopping his repeating footfalls towards his destination. Yelling back at the camp “I found the ruins HONDA!”

His comrade's shouts finally were grasped, Honda's sharp soil eyes brightened with realization. “Men you heard the man! Let's go!” As with him the herd of Egyptians males followed in hurry after their leader,

The pack made their way past the fallen statues of gods and broken framework, and came upon a single temple within the heart of the ruins; it was left without and major damage, scathed only by the harsh winds. The soldiers gazed in awe at the ancient building, how sacred it once was, they had made a huge accomplishment, finding a lost temple that no one had been in since it's demise.

There were patterns of old hieroglyphics all along the walls; it was more like a work of art then an actual temple. It was so impressive to have lasted the eons that it did, and just the thought of all the jewels and precious ornaments within was enough to cause a backlash of excitement erupt from the crowd.

“Alright men, make your way through the entrance, carefully.” Jou instructed, emphasizing the word careful. He wanted it to remain, as it did, no damage what so ever.

Honda, Jou and his men cautiously shuffled through the corridor, and into the enclosed entryway. The room was unlit, and overcastted in complete darkness, so as the head Jou singled for one guard's man to light a torch. As he did so the flares from the flame slowly lit the room, “Good,” He looked on for a passageway “Let's go down through there.”

The narrow hallway was crowded, and smug as they passed through and reached a large thick hatchway. Honda looked it over and noted that there was no locks or bolts. He motion for three men to drive the doorway open, one held the latch up and the other two shoved as hard as the muscles tolerated.

The three watchmen choked out grunts, as the bulky, solid lumber door had finally gave way and opened. Creaking as the old hinges allowed access, the next room was also shrouded in darkness. The young man with the torch walked slowly into the new chamber, the flame divert the light of the sparks onto the stone walls, showing more artistic drawings on the walls.

The group followed him to the center and all chaos broke lose when they saw what had been concealed in the darkness, hills of bountiful jewels, coins, and other priceless artifacts by the piles. Each man for himself, pilling lute into their own sacks, trying to find the most valuables.

As they stood, watching how their co-workers had behaved at the site of treasure, they couldn't help but let a few chuckles slip loose. “Well I guess there aren't any tablets, Yami will definitely be disappointed.”

Honda nodded, then walking off to take his own share, Jou smirked once more at his comrade's greediness and began to wander around the pillaged treasure chamber. “Too bad though,” He thought to myself.

I feel like I've been locked up tight for a century of lonely nights
Waiting for someone to release me…

An angelic voice sang. The melody was so lovely, so luring one would've thought it had came from the lungs of a siren. Jou jumped, startled be the mysterious call. He glimpsed around; there was no one who could have belted out such a magnificent whisper.

Oh oh oh…

It sang again, this wasn't his imagination, he was positive he looked up. He began to turn not sure what direction the feminine, singing was coming from. But desperate to find it's owner,

…clank…

Jou looked down at his feet, where he had heard something fall to the floor. There in deed was something there, in fact it was a golden lamp. With a lace tied around the handle into a delicate bow, “Could it be?”

He bent down retrieving it from the marble flooring, he shifted it in his hands. Touching it chilly container, “yes, no doubt…” He paused, “It's a magical lamp…maybe this can be my apology gift to Yami.”

If you wanna be with me
Baby there's a price to pay
