Gone and Forgotten

This a lot like my other stories, but it does have a few differences though a lot of happenings in Trial By Cards are mentioned. Kanji Velvet Kaiba was Seto Kaiba's twin, but they were separated at birth. Well at the age of eight years old Kanji was diagnosed with an incurable disease and at age 10 he died. Now six years later, the forgotten Kaiba's grave has been discovered by Seto. Enter the world of Kanji Kaiba through the eyes of his siblings and through the eyes of two very gifted teenagers who were given a second lease on life. I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh so please don't sue.

Chapter 1: One Grave Stone, One Million Questions

Seto Kaiba walks through the cemetery and knells down by two snow-covered markers. It was December 30, and not the best time to be out, but Seto didn't care. One marker holds the name of his father and one his mother. " I always wonder if I would be where I am now if you two hadn't died," says Seto as he lays flowers by the grave stones.

" I doubt it," says a voice behind him. Seto turns around and looks at his smaller blue-green haired brother Noa who smiles innocently at him. Just last year Noa had been a ghost and now he was alive again. Thanks to Yugi, and Yami that is.

" Noa," says Seto and shakes his head, but smiles at his brother and walks away from the grave site and passes by many markers. He knells down by one with one simple word on it," Cali." " Wonder who she was," says Seto. Noa smiles lightly and knells down by the grave stone and touches it. Words start to appear on it. " Cali Air, 1970-2000, beloved mother, wife, sister, and daughter," reads Seto.

" Kenji's mom," says Noa quietly.

" Duke's Kenji?" asks Seto. During Duelist Kingdom Seto's sister Keora had found a 12-year-old boy named, "Kenji Air" who Duke had adopted. Noa nods his head sadly and looks at Seto.

" Yes," says Noa and keeps walking. Seto catches up and suddenly Noa points to a simple marker. Seto looks at it and shrugs.

" Wonder what it is?" asks Seto. Noa knells down and brushes dirt and weeds away from the marker. As he reads the name, his eyes shot up to Seto.

" Remember what Yama always says about there being a third blood Kaiba brother?" asks Noa. Seto nods and looks at Noa.

" I found him," says Noa quietly and points to the marker. Seto looks at the marker and reads out loud to himself.

" Kanji Velvet Kaiba, 1985-1995," reads Seto quietly and looks at Noa. " Can you find out more?" asks Seto to the would be ghost. On Noa's neck hangs a scarab like item that had been made by Seth back in Ancient Egypt and had brought Noa back to life. Noa nods slowly and touches the grave stone and a flood of memories come into his head.

" Yes, he was your brother Seto. He was your younger twin and he was adopted as soon as he was born, the same as Keora, and Cynara," says Noa. " He died of AIDS in 1995, which he contracted when he had a blood transfusion," adds Noa quietly.

" So he'd be about 16 now," says Seto quietly. Noa nods and then looks at Seto.

" Looks like we've got company," says Noa and points to a small boy who is only about as tall as Yugi. He walks up to them and points to the marker.

" You knew him?" asks the boy. Noa and Seto shake their heads and the boy sighs quietly. " I'm Matt, and I was his friend," says the boy. " He always talked about a twin brother, and told me if I ever found him to give this to him," says Matt. He holds out a picture and a strange item.

" He said his name was Seth, or something like that," says Matt. He starts to walk off, but Seto runs after him and taps him on the shoulder.

" My name's Seto, and I guess I'm the twin," says Seto quietly. Matt's face breaks into a smile and suddenly the air around Seto and Noa starts to shimmer golden.

" Good then take these two things," says Matt. He hands the picture and item over to Seto. " Oh and Noa, there's something else you may want to know about Kanji," says Matt.

" He loved to travel," says Matt and suddenly disappears.

" Was, he what I think he was?" asks Seto quietly. Noa just nods his head and looks at his brother. " What're we going to tell Keora?" asks Seto quietly. When Keora first heard about Noa, she almost died and when Noa suddenly appeared the teen was scared so badly that she checked herself into the ER just to make sure she wasn't crazy. Thing was Keora herself was actually a miracle. She had the problem of being a clumsy person, but had grown out of it.

" Hey Kaiba, what you doing here?" asks Yugi as the tall brunette walks into the Game Shop. " Don't tell me we've got another ghost," says Yugi jokingly. Noa thought looks at Yugi and puts his head in his hands.

" Just great Yugi, you had to go off and mention the word," says Noa as Seto starts to cry. Noa runs to his brother and tries to comfort the older boy, but to no avail.

" Yugi, what's all the racket?" asks Yami and then notices Seto and looks at Noa. " What's wrong, Noa?" asks Yami knowing that he wouldn't get a word out of Seto himself.

" Let's just say, taking walks in the cemetery has suddenly become the least fun thing on my list of fun things to do," says Noa quietly. Sure he may have been a ghost and you'd logically think a ghost turned human would stay as far away from one as possible, but Noa was different.

" Don't tell me we've got another of you walking around," says Yami. Noa shakes his head and looks at the ancient King of Games.

" No, but Seto, just found out he's got a twin," says Noa. Yami raises one of his eyes in confusion.

" Isn't that a good thing?" asks Yami. Noa shakes his head and sighs.

" Not, when the twin is 6 feet under," says Noa quietly. A sudden wind tells him of the presence of his sister Keora. She walks up to Noa and takes a video tape out of her pocket.

" Noa, I knew about Kanji," says Keora quietly. " I was at his side when he died if it helps any," says Keora as tears fill her eyes. " He had one last wish and that was to be able to look on his big brother's face," says Keora and hands the tape to Noa.

" In one way or another," says Keora quietly. " The item's nameless so you better think of a name," says Keora and walks outside.

" It's the Millennium Life," whispers Seto quietly through his tears. " Yugi, can I use your tv?" asks Seto just above a whisper. Yugi nods and Noa nods back in gratitude as they walk upstairs. Noa pops the movie in and a light brown haired face comes onto the screen.

" If you are watching this, then it's obvious that I've died. You may wonder why you're seeing this now instead of five or more years ago. Well, I guess you could say that I wanted to see you when you were more grown up big brother. I'm younger by an hour Seto, and just like Keora, who was only seven or so when this happened you are my big brother.

I always told the doctors that my final wish was to see my big brothers face, but that's partially a lie. Seto, I wanted to see you face to face and talk to you, but I guess now in the grave that's impossible. I remember seeing a little red, yellow, and black haired kid come in here once in a while and just talk to me. He was funny that kid was. He was only about 4 feet tall and kept telling me he was 10 years old, but I didn't believe him. He said his name was," Yugi, Yugi Motou". He mentioned a card game called, " Duel Monsters" and he taught me how to play it a bit. I remember a card I really liked that he called " Blue Eyes" or something like that. He never used it in a duel and I always lost, but it was fun.

Maybe you know him and if you do please ask him something for me. Ask him if he still has that Multiply card and that Kuribo card. He always used that combo on me and it got me so mad.

I remember seeing other kids in the hospital so scared and afraid of what would happen to them. I remember how the nurses would try numerous times to stop them from crying, but it never worked at least not as well as Keora's way. Keora would come into the hospital with an air of calm and assurance which rubbed off on the others. They'd calm down partially and fall asleep.

I wonder what it will be like to die? I hope I die in my sleep without too much pain, but only God knows what will happen. Well goodbye big brother and I hope you have a long and happy life. Oh and as for my necklace, well I'm giving it to my friend. Goodbye," says Kanji on the screen.

" So Keora, how did he die?" asks Seto quietly. Keora looks at Seto and as tears stream down his face.

" In his sleep," says Keora quietly. " On December 31, 1995," says Keora quietly. " At 11:59 he was pronounced dead," says Keora quietly. " He missed the new year and Mazara's birthday by one minute," says Keora.

" So the anniversary of his death is tomorrow," whispers Seto quietly and wiped his tears away. " I guess I've got some thinking to do," says Seto and walks down the stairs and takes out his cell phone and calls his limo. Keora watches her big brother as tears make rivers down his face.

" Kanji Velvet Kaiba, your memory will live on through the eyes of the people your life touched," whispers Keora very quietly.

She takes out a simple journal and turns to the last page and reads the date and then starts to read the entry.

December 31, 1995,

Hi it's me again. Yugi just left and now Keora is here at my side. It's getting harder and harder to breathe. It was Christmas a couple years ago and guess what I got? Keora gave me a puppy. I named her, " Dream." She's a cute little dog with blue eyes and a nice pink tongue. She's blue-grey in color and Keora says she's a blue-merle Collie pup 10 weeks old. Well journal this will be the last entry. Good bye, Kanji Kaiba.

" So Kanji, you knew it was the end," says Keora quietly to herself and looks at the journal. " I'm going to get this published," whispers Keora as she holds the journal close to her. " It's the least I can do for Kanji," whispers Keora. Keora feels a tap on her shoulder and turns to see Yugi and Yami looking at her.

" We couldn't help over hearing," says Yami. Keora nods to him and smiles slightly.

" I want to thank you Yugi, for being there for my brother," says Keora quietly. Yugi blushes and nods to her. " I mean it Yugi, and I'm going to repay you some way or another," says Keora.

" You've already repaid me," says Yugi smiling. Keora looks at Yugi and shakes her head back and forth.

" Yugi, my family's debt to you has grown almost more then we can handle," says Keora. She smiles slightly and looks at Yami jokingly. " Saving Mokuba and Seto, bringing Noa back, saving my sorry hide more than once, saving Bakura even though he was your enemy at the time, and being with Kanji," says Keora.

Yugi and Yami look at her though and shake their heads.

" Keora, there's no reason for you to repay us," says Yami. Yugi nods and smiles at her.

" We don't need to be paid for good deeds," says Yugi and smiles slightly. " Anyway if it wasn't for you, Yami wouldn't have his own body and he would have never met Yama," says Yugi. Keora just shakes her head and sighs.

" I always repay my debts," says Keora. " You went after Seto in Virtual World and risked your own lives doing it," says Keora and looks at them.

" You kept Seto from breaking me and Ryou up," says Keora and looks at Yami. " You were there to help me defeat Tut in the hospital and you always catch me when I fall if no one else's there," says Keora with tears in her eyes. " Isn't there anything I can do to repay you?" asks Keora. Yami and Yugi just shakes their heads, but suddenly an idea comes to mind.

" Yes, stop asking how you can repay us," says Yugi. Keora smiles and looks at Yami and smiles slightly.

" What about you?" asks Keora. Yami smiles and looks at her.

" Tell all your friends and family to stop asking how to repay us," says Yami. Keora nods and then walks up to both of them and slips something in their hands and jumps into her waiting limo. Yami and Yugi look at their hands in amazement. There in both of their hands lay a $200 bill. " Kaiba's," says Yugi and Yami and smile though and walk into the Game Shop holding the money Keora had given them.

Next Time: When Ryou, Bakura, Malik, and Marik learn about Kanji they want to go to the Shadow Realm and try to find him for some odd reason. Keora though holds them back by saying that if they do that one more time Yami will kill them. A flashback to a couple months ago happens and a strange white-haired girl appears. With Seto in an emotional breakdown, Noa trying to comfort him, Cynara and Mazara visiting a friend in France, that leaves Keora and Mokuba to man the Kaiba Mansion and the New Years Eve Ball. When Keora recruits Duke, Yugi, Tristan, and Joey to help out what will happen? Well you better wait and see.
