Author's notes: I might have exaggerated the story to “the beginning of time” in the beginning of this chapter because I didn't quite understand what the information I found actually meant, but… *cough* It's alright, you'll live. o_o; Nymphaea caerulea is the Egyptian's water lily.

The girl smiled half heartedly as she laid a tiny tanned hand on the flower's petals, her eyes finally lightening up a little. “It's so pretty,” she whispered as her father knelt in front of her, covering her tiny hands with his.
“It is pretty, isn't it,” he smiled as he looked up at her. “It's called a Nymphaea caerulea, and it is one of our country's most beloved flowers.”
“Why?” She took her eyes from the beautiful light blue petals and looked at her father with utmost curious eyes.
“Well, a long, long time ago, before any of us was ever born, even before many of the gods we know today, there existed this one type of flower. It would bloom every morning and close back up again every afternoon to wait a new day.”
“Why, pappa?”
“Because Chaos existed then, darling.”
“Chaos?”
“Yes, Chaos. Chaos was a dark and powerful figure that would have ruled both day and night had it not have been for the god that resided inside the flower's petals.” The girl's eyes widened and she looked down at the flower again, and her father's eyes crinkled with amusement.
“You mean… there's a god in this flower?”
“Of course there is! He is the creator of the other gods and goddesses, such as Ra and Isis. You see, he was a very lonely god, and he wanted friends to play with, much like you and me. But one day, one of his closest friends grew ill due to an aging body. Do you know what he did?” The little girl's eyes grew huge with curiosity, and she shook her head no. “He took this flower and opened it up, allowing its beautiful scent to heal his good friend.”
“And it healed him,” she repeated in awe as she looked back down at the flower, her mouth held agape.
“Yes, it did…” Her father smiled again, and he took the flower from her hands, placing it in her hair, where it was tucked behind her ear, and he kissed her on the forehead. “Come now, Alleviahn, let's go home,” he added, taking her small hand in his.
“Wait, pappa,” she said before he had the chance to start walking. “Who was the god that helped his friend?”
Her father turned around and smiled, kneeling in front of her yet again. “Can you not think of what his name is?” When she shook her head, he smiled and pulled her up off the ground and into his arms. “No need to worry, you'll learn his name some day.”
“What are you doing?!”
“Just taking some precautions, my lady.”
“Just what,” she screamed, her forehead drenched with sweat now. “Just?! How can you just be taking precautions?! You shouldn't have to take precautions!” As she began to panic, she felt more pain rack at her body, and her eyes leaked more tears. “Just get the blasted thing out of me! NOW!” She cried.
But it was no use. They could not extract the power that racked at her within her body. No specialist could, not even one of the beloved Pharaoh's magicians could ease the pain she felt, and it was at that moment when all hope had faded when a bright light devoured the room and the screaming stopped.
All the men and the woman's children were blinded by the light, so they did not see the faint figure of a woman appear before them, but they did hear her speak. “Why do you tremble so? I bring you no harm, nor does the gift within you…”
“Gift? You call this a gift?!” When the figure nodded her head, the lady exploded with disbelief. “How can you call this a gift? It wants to devour me! What is so great about a gift that wants to kill you?!”
“Is a travel to the Afterlife not good enough for you, mistress?” At her words, the woman stopped breathing and struggling, and she turned her head to the source of the voice, finding a pair of the most gorgeous colored eyes she had never seen staring straight back at her. “It harms you because you fight it. If you continue to fight it, you will endure more pain than you were destined to. You are apart of a great legacy, mistress. You have been blessed with the powers of the gods, and have been asked to carry out the task in which they could not carry themselves.” She placed a hand on the woman's sweating scalp, and the woman could have sworn she saw a smile form. “Just breathe, and accept,” she whispered silently in the woman's ear, cooing her into persuasion, and almost as instantly as it appeared, the blinding light vanished.
For a long while, everybody was silent as they attempted to get used to the lack of brightness until one of the daughters screamed and ran for her mother's side, tears dripping like waterfalls from her face screaming, “Mamma! Mamma! Please don't be dead… Wake up! Wake up!”
She awoke the next morning in her bed, her head covered with nothing but white bandage, and as she attempted to sit up, her father objected with a simple verbal of “Oh, no you don't, young lady!” Instantly, she was lying back down in her bed, her eyes wide with puzzlement.
She shivered and turned on her side, her head aching with even the slightest movement of a shiver. When she felt the warmth of another's press against her shoulder, she would have jumped, but managed to restrain herself from doing so. Soft, faint whispers were heard, but she paid no attention to it, only continued to shiver from what she thought was the cold. But when someone attempted to pull her up, she squinted her eyes shut and released a horrifyingly painful scream.
The man that held her dropped her out of shock and disbelief, and when he realized what he had done, he began to panic even more, afraid for her and what would happen if she hit the concrete floor. But she never did. Instead of hard rock, pure white light covered the floor, and as the girl fell into it, a soft lullaby could be heard echoing throughout the room. Ever so slowly, the figure of a woman emerged from the light, her long hair flowing like ribbon, her gorgeous emerald eyes searching over the girl she held in her arms.
She glanced up at the man and woman that stood in the room, both of them frozen solid at the beauty before them, their breath caught in their throats, and she smiled. “It is done,” the goddess figure whispered, and she set the young child on her bed and vanished.
“Oh, Alleviahn!” The woman rushed to her daughter's side and brought her into her arms, tears streaming down her cheeks, expecting warmth from the child and a hug in return, but…
She pulled her daughter away from her and let out a soft gasp as she stared into two lifeless eyes.
