Goodbye, Pharaoh's Light
Malik stood in front of KaibaCorp with a sadistic grin on his face. "One down….two to go."
Malik walked to the KaibaCorp building and went to the security desk. "Hello, I need to see Seto Kaiba right away."
The guard narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "What is this about, kid?"
"I need to speak to Seto. Something happened to Aria and I need to see him."
The guard's demeanor melted. "Aria? What's wrong with the princess?"
"She's very ill and…"
"Go see Mr.Kaiba."
Malik grabbed the guard's hand and shook it. "Thank you!" He ran to the elevator and chuckled when the doors shut. "These mortals are so easy to convince."
Malik walked to Seto's office and knocked on the door.
"Come in," the cold voice ordered.
Seto was at his desk with three armed men dressed in black discussing something important. "Malik, I am in the middle of a very important meeting!"
Malik ran to Seto, tears in his eyes. "Seto, something happened to Aria and I came to drive you to the hospital!"
Seto snapped his fingers and pointed to the door. "Out! Now!" The men in black suits filed out of the room.
Malik ran to the door and locked it. Malik turned to Seto with a sadistic grin.
"What's wrong with Aria?"
Malik chuckled. "Don't be concerned about her. If I were you, I'd be too worried about my own safety and well-being."
Seto stood up and clenched his fists. "What is the meaning of this, Malik?"
The room slowly began to fill with freezing air. Malik held his hand out. "I think you need to relax, Kaiba!"
Seto was thrown against the wall in his office. Malik slowly approached him laughing. "The mighty CEO cannot even take a little beating? Seto Kaiba, you stand in my way." Malik reached down and grabbed Seto by the throat. Malik pinned Seto to the wall, clutching onto his neck. Seto gagged as his throat was constricted by strong fingers.
"I wish that I had time to kill you…slowly and painfully. It is a pity that I have no time to watch you die in my hand. Nothing would have pleased me more than to see you a corpse, Kaiba. Your ceased heartbeat would truly be music to my ears. But, I have places to go, people to destroy, and lives to ruin. But first, I will trap you in your nightmare…and in the Shadow Realm."
***Seto's POV***
Malik laughed and the room suddenly went dark. a thick, purple haze surrounded me . Malik released me and I fell.
I don't know how I fell, but I landed on solid ground. All around me I just saw the purple haze. This was the Shadow Realm. At my feet appeared a pit and a skeleton half immersed in the void beneath it. I should have been scared, but nothing ever scares Seto Kaiba.
"Mortal….why are you here? You do not belong in our world."
"I don't know how I got here."
"BIG BROTHER!" I heard Mokuba scream.
My blood ran cold. Mokuba was calling out to me and I ran. I heard the monster disappear screeching, "He bears the mark of my new master's accomplice!"
"BIG BROTHER! SAVE ME! HELP!"
Sweat formed on my forehead from my nerves. Please, I don't want Mokuba to be hurt! I ran into the dark oblivion before me, determined not to stop until I found my little brother and returned home safe with him.
I couldn't see anything around me. I needed to go higher. My deck wasn't in my pocket…and I wish it was. Calling my dragons would be much easier.
"Blue Eyes! Blue Eyes White Dragon! Come to your master!"
My dragons didn't answer.
"BIG BROTHER!"
I had no time to waste. My brother needed me and if I had to search this darkness again for Mokuba alone without my dragons, then so be it.
*************
Yami loaded the last box of action figures into the car. Otogi ordered some figures for his shop and he was running low.
Yugi ran out to Yami. "Give Otogi this!" Yugi handed Yami a poster with the Knight of Twin Swords. "Tell him that's a good luck gift from us!"
"Ok, Aibou. I'll be back soon. I also have to go meet the owners of the Dueling Dungeon. They want us to sell some of their dueling accessories and I have to make sure it's worth it."
Yugi hugged his yami tightly. "Ok, Yami! Let me know how it goes and pick up a pizza for dinner on your way back!"
"Aibou….."
Yugi's smile widened and his eyes grew wide and chibi. "Please, Yami??? For me?"
Yugi bat his eyes for Yami and Yami smiled. "Ok, Yugi. Pepperoni this time?"
Yugi shook his head and winked. "I think I want……sausage this time."
Yami blushed, knowing his light's hidden message. "Ok, Yugi. I'll get you a sausage pizza. Love you, Aibou."
"Me, too, Yami!" Yugi kissed his yami's cheek.
Yami sat in the car and Grandpa drove away.
Yugi returned into the store and sat behind the cash register. he opened up a magazine and read about Otogi's store holding Dungeon Duel Monsters tournaments the next week.
The front door closed and he lifted his head to see Bakura leaning against the door.
"Hi, Bakura! I'm glad you're here! We have new dolls in! We have a Dark Magician Girl doll for Aria and our Harpie Lady dolls came in! Aria would adore them! Wanna see one?"
Bakura snapped his fingers and the shades fell. "Hello, pharaoh's light," Bakura said smiling, his canines revealed.
"Bakura?"
Bakura walked to the sales counter slowly. The room became bitter cold and Yugi jumped off the chair. He grabbed the door to the house to escape and found it was locked! 'This door is never locked!' he thought in a panic.
Bakura grabbed Yugi by the hair, his long nails digging into Yugi's scalp. Bakura growled and threw the smaller boy over his shoulder and across the store. Yugi landed on the magazine rack. The rack fell over and cut Yugi's forehead. The gash began to bleed as Bakura approached laughing.
"Bakura," Yugi whined as the heavy rack pinned his little body to the floor. Bakura grabbed a display of new cards and threw it on the floor. He took the crystal and glass and threw it to the ground by Yugi. He went to the cash register and opened the drawer. Bakura stuffed the money in his pocket and pulled the register out of the plug. Bakura threw it against the wall by Yugi, further burying him under a pile of wires and shattered glass. Bakura snapped his fingers and a small spark started in the trash can. He bent down to Yugi and claimed Yugi's neck belt as a prize.
"Goodbye, pharaoh's light."
Bakura shut the door behind him and Aku assumed Malik's form again.
"Bakura, your time has come. The pharaoh will come after you and will punish you for hurting his light. Your punishment….will be severe. Now…I must meet with the Unfaithful Guardian and plan our ultimate revenge."
***************************
Steven stood in his temple, running his hands over the cold stone of the altar. The Decayed Commander stood at the temple entrance. The Old Vindictive Magician read a spell from his book and manacles appeared on the stone altar.
Steven grinned. "Now all we need is the boy."
"Master, Malik Ishtar is here."
"Send him in."
Aku approached proud. "I have eliminated Seto Kaiba and Yugi Motou as potential threats. Now no one can protect Ryou. He's left out in the open with no one to protect him."
Steven grinned. "Has the deed been done?"
"I have destroyed Marik's faith in Malik."
"Perfect. Now, I must mobilize my army against Bakura. I will need someone who knows Bakura well enough to know his weaknesses. I need someone who won't fight back. I need the child."
"Child, Unfaithful Guardian? What child?"
"The child whose weaknesses are easy to exploit. I need the child who will not fight back. I want my grandson."
Aku grinned. "Why do you need him?"
"He will join my army against Bakura. He may be weak, but that is of no concern to me. As long as he serves his purpose for my needs, I do not care about his physical condition."
"What are you going to do?"
Steven went to the Old Vindictive Magician's Book of Spells. "Turn him into a duel monster. He's too weak to fight in his current condition, I would think. He was weak when I saw him before." Steven's grin widened. "I know he's dying to see his granddaddy once more."
"How are we going to get him here?"
Steven flipped through the book. "You will bring him here. Then, we will perform the ritual that will make him mine forever."
Aku laughed and brushed back his host's blond hair. "Aten will be one of us."
"He already is one of us…..he just doesn't know it yet."
