Malik lover and Bakurasgirl worshipper: Chibis are great when they're innocent!

bakachibi voidfox: I didn't know you write! Hey, you can't compare yourself to anyone else. You know why? Because you are you! You are different. Every writer is different. Bishojo Shadow and Hato chiisai are my idols. I could never write as good as they, but I'm happy with my own style.

Roo626: New reviewer! SQUEE! Thanks!

cynical spirit valea: Aten will see Robbie again. *hugs chibis*

Maruken: Aten has a yami side, but it only comes out when he is SEVERELY pissed. It won't come out in the next one, but the one after. His yami doesn't show up until he is 12.

Amane Bakura: I knew you'd like that scene. As far as Yami goes, I always thought there was a potential for evil in him. In the Japanese version, he is like my Yami. Ruthless and evil.

Grim Reminders

Ryou's POV

I opened my eyes and yawned. The first rays of morning were coming through the curtains, trying with futility to light our dark bedroom. I stretched the last remnants of sleep away and felt an unfamiliar pressure on my chest.

I opened my eyes and saw Bakura's head on my chest, his right arm draped around me! He moved during the night!"

My right arm, positioned under him, came up and rubbed my yami's bare back. My yami gave a little whimper in his sleep and his right hand clutched onto me weakly.

His skin was warm again and his hair didn't fall out when I stroked it.

"Yami? Can you wake up?"

Bakura still didn't move. With my left hand, I touched his cheek. It was with a smile that I held my yami against me again. I missed this. Bakura felt a little warm, but I continued to hold him. If he had a little fever, it wouldn't surprise me. He was locked in a soulroom with ice-cold nights and scorching hot days.

Marik came in and gasped at the sight in front of him. "He moved!"

I smiled. "I know! Even though he feels like he has a little fever, he moved all by himself!"

"Well, I bought two livers for him. He only finished half of one liver last night. Hat liver is still good. I made sure to save all the drippings, too. Sometimes, I have to admit, even he freaks me out. I never knew how he could enjoy raw meat. Yuck."

I rubbed Bakura's back as another little moan came out of him. "I know. I always thought it best not to ask Bakura why he does half the things he does. Some things are best left unknown."

Marik nodded. "Ok. Well, I'll go down and put that liver on a plate. Be right back."

With a gentle hand, I shook Bakura. "Yami? It's time to eat."

Bakura shut his eyes tightly and buried his face in my chest with fear. What is he afraid of?

Marik returned to a shaking yami and my voice trying to soothe him. "What happened?"

"I don't know. I just told him it was time to eat and he started quivering on me."

Marik sat beside the bed and stroked Bakura's hair and he seemed to calm down a little. Maybe it was the liver he smelled that made him relax.

Marik cut the raw meat into small pieces and he fed Bakura. I just held Bakura in my arms as he fed in his sleep. I wiped away a trail of blood that was flowing down his chin. I laughed when Bakura gave a satisfied grunt as he chewed.

When he finished, he licked his lips and fell back asleep.

"I have to go to training today, Ryou. Is there anything you want me to pick up on the way home?"

"Can you open a new account under your name at the bank?"

Marik smiled. "I can do that. Anything else?"

"Yes. Can you bring Aria and Aten back home? I miss them badly."

Marik's smile faded. "What if my asshole of a hikari comes back? Bakura can't defend you. All he can do is eat, drool, and sleep."

I growled. "hey! Bakura moved this morning! He's getting better. Besides, you can protect the house with a little Shadow Magic."

Marik shrugged. "True. Malik doesn't have Shadow Powers. Fine. I will protect the house while I am gone. I will bring the kids home tonight."

"Thank you, Marik."

Marik Leaned down to kiss me. "No problem, Ryou."

************************

Malik watched as the Unfaithful Guardian threw a chalice of wine across the room angrily. Steven angrily roared his displeasure.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN'T FIND THE BRATS?!"

Malik folded his arms against his chest. "I could sense the boy in the house and then his energies disappeared."

"I thought Aten was dead! I was told he was dead! BRING ME THE CHANGE OF HEART!"

The Decayed Commander sneered. "The Change of Heart left."

"FOOLS! I can't even depend on my followers to kill two three year old children!"

Malik brushed his hair back. "I don't know where the kids are, but maybe my hikari would know where they are."

A bright light flashed and Aku separated from Malik's body. Malik opened his eyes and looked around.

Steven stood above him, leering.

"AH!" Marik backed against the wall.

Aku and Steven hovered over Malik, who curled up against the wall.

"Hello, Malik Ishtar," Steven grinned.

"Who…Who are you?"

Steven clenched his fists as the barbed wire emerged from his fist. "I am the Unfaithful Guardian. In the mortal world, my name was Steven Bakura."

Malik gasped. "Ryou's dad!"

"In the rotting flesh, Malik. Besides my son, I have found few people who are so easily controlled. You are one of them."

Malik shook his head. "No! I'll fight you!"

Aku laughed. "You can't fight us alone! If you could have, you would have fought long ago. But you didn't."

Malik narrowed his eyes. "What do you want with me?"

Steven hovered over Malik. "Where could my son hide Aria and Aten?"

Malik grit his teeth. "Why should I tell you?"

Steven grabbed Malik's shirt as his barbed ire curled around Malik's arms and his body. "You will tell me or your yami will spend the next five thousand years searching for your remains that will be scattered around the Shadow Realm."

Malik's forehead was covered in sweat and his heart raced. "I don't know! What about KaibaCorp?"

Aku growled. "Tried it. Guess again."

"Yugi's Game Shop?"

Aku grinned. "Destroyed it. Guess again."

Malik felt the tears escape his eyes. "I don't know where else they could be, I swear!"

Aku grabbed Malik's hair. "Tell us, you insignificant slime or do I need to remind you of what you have one to the family you love so dearly?"

"I don't know where Aria and Aten could be!"

Aku sneered. "I think it's time for me to refresh your memory."

Malik's eyes widened in disbelief as Aku projected his fight with Marik in the garden. [I do love you, Marik, but only for the sex.]

A tear fell down Malik's eye. "Marik…I didn't mean that."

The color drained from his face as he saw himself drive a steak knife into Marik's hand and wrap the sink hose around Marik's other wrist. Suddenly he could feel himself buried inside Marik as his yami whimpered in pain.

"Marik…..please forgive me."

Aku grinned. "Marik is not the only one you harmed."

Malik shook his head as Steven withdrew his barbed wire. "I can't watch!"

Aku touched Malik's eyes and the purple eyes shot wide open.

"I can't close my eyes."

Aku showed Malik taking Aten away from school. Malik could hear Aten's terror-filled scream when he saw Steven. Malik watched in horror as he pulled back Aten's head as he was chained face-don on the nearby altar. "Oh gods…I hurt Aten." Malik held Aten's head down on the stone altar as he watched Steven use the dagger to carve into Aten's back.

"Show me no more!"

Malik held his breath as he saw himself kissing Aten deeply. Aten's fists were clenched as his body shuddered. A tiny tear fell down Aten's cheek as Malik kissed him hungrily. Malik pulled back. [Aten, you are getting to be a good kisser. Your granddaddy has taught you well.]

The corner of Steven's mouth curled. "That is not all that my grandson can do, Malik, as you found out yourself!"

"STOP THIS! I CAN'T LOOK AT THIS ANYMORE!"

Aku Laughed. "You didn't enjoy that? Steven sure did."

Malik turned to Steven. "You are a monster!"

"And you are a dead man if we don't get what we want!"

"What did you do to Aten, Steven?

Steven grinned. "Nothing that I regret, Malik, I assure you. I see you're beginning to have a few regrets. Let them go. Forget about them. Now, do we need to show you more about what you did to Aten?"

"No! Please!"

Steven advanced on Malik. "Change of topic. How can you destroy a yami, Malik?"

"Destroy a yami? I don't know."

Steven growled. "Five thousand years ago, pharaoh Yami sealed spirits in the seven items. Today, all that remains are three! What happened to the rest?"

Malik shrugged. "I don't know!"

Aku sneered. "You were raised around the ancient scriptures! Your family guarded the pharaoh's tomb. You know the ancient ways!"

"I hated living in that moldy, dark, cold, tomb! I hated it!"

"In the Scriptures, there had to be an explanation of why the other items no longer have spirits!"

Mallik shook h is head. "I don't know! Yami never mentioned any other spirits oher than Bakura and Marik."

AkugrippedMalik's neck. "You better not be lying to us, my new hikari!"

"I'm not lying, I promise!"

Aku growled. "We need to look around for these kids!"

Aku disappeared, controlling Malik's body again. "I'll find those kids!" Mali tuned to leave. "OH, I think I found a way for you out of the Shadow Realm."

Steven grinned. "You have?"

"Yes." A bright light appeared and faded quickly. Malik held a card in his hand. "This card will summon you to any dueling field. I will place this card in someone's deck. Should someone tear the card in half, it will release a dangerous plague among the spirits of the Millennium Items, killing them off one by one."

"But, won't that destroy me?"

"no. That means we just find another way to bring you back into the real world."

Steven looked at the card: 3400 ATK/ 3000 DEF. "Perfect."

Aku pocketed the card. Now I have to find those little bastards. I'll bring the girl back to you. You might want to enjoy her before you kill her."

Steven cracked his knuckles. "Breaking her will be harder than her brother, but I never backed away from a challenge."
