Where you Belong

Aten drew five cards and looked at his hand: Victims of Silence (0/3500), Silent Stalker (3000/2100), The 13th Grave (1200/900), the Early Death trap card, and Dark Hole.

Yami looked at his hand: Waboku, Illusionist Faceless Mage (1200/2200), Dark Magician (2500/2100), Gaia the Fierce Knight (2300/2100), and a Man Eater Bug (450/600).

"You go first, Aten," Yami grinned. "DuelistKingdom. You don't need to sacrifice."

Aten picked up and looked at his draw: Basic Insect (500/700). He looked through his hand and placed Dark Hole face down and The 13th Grave in attack mode.

"I tummon de Firteen Gafe in tack mode! One tard pace town! End turn!"

Ryou gasped. "Aten! What are you doing, baby?! Put it in defense mode! It's too weak to go into attack mode!"

Aten gasped. "Oh no! I taught firteen higher dan my udder tards!"

Yami pulled a card. "Too late to change your mind, boy." Yami pulled the Giant Soldier of Stone (1300/2000).

Yami grinned. "Dark Magician in attack mode! Attack his 13th Grave with Dark Magic Attack!"

Aten screamed. "NO! DARK MISHIN!"

The Dark Magician attacked Aten's monster, bringing his Life Points to 6300.

Yami grinned. "One more card face down and I end my turn." Yami set a Spellbinding Circle trap face down.

Aten drew from his deck again: Last Will magic card. "I pace one tard pace down and tummon Basic Incest in tifense mode! End turn."

Yami drew from his deck and set the Illusionist Faceless Mage in defense mode. "Dark Magician, eliminate that pest from the field!"

"NOT ADEN!"

The Dark Magician destroyed the Basic Insect. Yami grinned.

"You haven't changed in five thousand years, Aten. I wonder why."

Aten turned up his face down card 'Last Will.' "I tan pit a monner wif 1-5-0-0 from my deck and pay as Peckial tummon and tuffle my deck."

Aten picked the Man Eater Bug and placed it in face down position, knowing Yami would attack it. He shuffled his deck and smiled. Aten drew a card and activated Just Desserts, sending Yami's Life Points down to 7000.

Ryou cheered. "That's my boy! I wonder where Marik is."

"End turn."

Yami drew a card and set his Giant Soldier of Stone in attack mode. "Giant Soldier of Stone, eliminate Aten's Basic Insect!"

Aten's Man Eater Bug was activated. "My Man Ear Bug! He dissoy one monner on the peeled! Your Diant Toller of Tone!"

Yami grinned. His Giant Soldier disappeared. "Dark Magician! Attack Aten's Life Points Directly with Dark Magic Attack!"

Aten staggered back and shrieked in pain as the magician's attack struck his arm. Aten fell to his knees as his Life Points reduced to 3800.

Ryou gasped and ran for Aten, but Yami called to Ryou. "Don't interfere in the game!"

The Dark Magician watched with pity as the boy clutched his chest tightly.

"My….heart ….hurts."

"Yami, my boy needs me!"

"If you interfere, Aten loses!"

Ryou narrowed his eyes. "I won't lose Aten over a silly game!"

Yami raised his hand. "I set the Illusionist Faceless Mage into attack mode and attack Aten again!"

The mage attacked Aten again, the boy's piercing cry being heard over Ryou's panicked cries. Aten's Life Points fell to 2600.

Ryou jumped for Aten, but couldn't reach. "Aten! Jump down! Mommy will catch you!"

Robbie ran to Ryou. "Aten! Come down!"

Aten could feel his heart struggling. His body started to shake. "Wobbie…..Mommy."

Ryou jumped and grabbed onto the edge of the platform. He tried to pull himself up. "Aten, baby boy, take my hand!"

Aten pulled another card with a shaky, trembling hand. "I pace….Ato..bat…Money…in tifence mode…End Turn."

Yami grinned. "I'll set Vampire Lord in attack mode and attack your Acrobat Monkey! Finally, I raise my Dark Magician's attack points with the Book of Secret Arts magic card, which gives him more than enough to finish this duel! Dark Magician, Dark Magic Attack!"

The Dark Magician hesitated! The magician turned to its master. "Master, he is just a child."

"Do it! Finish him off! Dark Magic Attack!"

Aten's eyes widened and he let out a whimper. "Ra, help me."

The Dark Magician's attack sent him flying off of the platform, making him land on his back.

Aria shrieked as she fell to her knees, feeling the impact on her back. Bakura kneeled down and took her into his arms. "Baby girl, are you okay?"

Aria clenched her teeth tightly and nodded. "Yes…daddy."

Ryou gasped and Robbie let out a loud sob when Aten fell off the platform. Ryou and Robbie ran to Aten where he had fallen.

"Baby boy, are you okay?"

"Aten! Aten! Say something!"

"My bat hurts," the boy whimpered. Aten narrowed his eyes as Yami approached. "He could never beat me! I knew he was weak!"

Seto and Joey scowled at Yami as he approached. "What did you have to prove, Yami?"

Aten opened his eyes again and focused on Yami standing over him with a smirk on his face.

"So, Aten. I won again. Your right where you belong….on your back!"

Aten narrowed his eyes and glared at the pharaoh looming over him. The chibi let out a growl, his body panted from the fall.

Aria stood in front of Yami, her hair spiky and twitching. Her eyes and regained their black hue with red spikes. "How dare you hurt my brother! You'll pay for this, Yami!"

Yami smirked. "You think so, hmm, Aria? Well, why don't you duel me?"

Aria laughed, her canines sharpened. Hayden ran behind Seto, shaking. "I don't need forty cards to beat you, Auntie Yami!"

"Okay, brat! You and I will duel!"

Bakura and Aria growled.

Joey growled and pushed Yami back angrily. "You think you're so damn hot, Yami? You know Aten is dyslexic and is having a difficult time with his numbers! Why don't you duel someone your own size? You're gloating over defeating a three year old! Duel me, Mr. Big-Shot! I'll teach you not to pick on defenseless little kids! Mokuba, Hayden, go get my Duel Disk and my deck!"

Aria snarled. "I can duel him Uncle Joey. I'll put Auntie Yami in his place!"

Joey's jaw dropped in shock. Uncle Joey??? "No, Aria. I'm dueling him first! Then you can duel him!"

Mokuba and Hayden ran to get Joey's deck and disk. Ryou and Robbie helped Aten off of the floor slowly. Aten gripped his back in pain.

Ryou helped Aten maintain his balance and lifted up the back of Aten's shirt to check for bruises. Miranda, Robbie, Joey, and Seto went pale at the sight of the chibi's carved back.

Aten rubbed the carved left side of his back. Ryou saw some bruises already starting around the bottom of Aten's neck and around the word "MINE."

Joey turned around to avoid seeing the carved little body.

"Does it still hurt, Aten?" Robbie asked.

Aten winced as his mother replaced the shirt on his back. "A wittle."

Mokuba and Hayden returned with Joey's deck and Duel Disk.

Joey placed the disk on his arm and put his deck into the slot. "Let's duel, bully!"

Yami shuffled his deck and returned to the podium with Joey.

Bakura looked around. "Rod-Boy's been gone a long time. Where the hell did he go?"

Ryou picked up Aten into his arms. "I think he went to follow Yami when he left, but he hasn't come back."

Bakura scowled. He held the Millennium Ring in his hand. "Ring, locate the Millennium Rod."

The golden points clanged and pointed up towards the control room. Bakura turned to Ryou and kissed him on the cheek.

"I'll be right back, angel." The yami ran out of the arena area.

Miranda picked up Robbie. "What did his necklace just do?"

"Our Millennium Item can detect the presence of other Millennium Items. It's magic."

"Neat! Where did you get it?"

"My father bought it for me as a birthday present back in Egypt."

Miranda lightly touched the Ring. "That is so cool!"

Joey called to them from the platform. "We're ready!"

Ryou and Miranda carried their kids to the platform. Aria stood at the bottom of the platform, snarling at Yami. Aria's mother looked down and noticed the change in eye color. Ryou noticed that only when Yami was in close proximity did Yami Aria make her appearance.

Joey and Yami drew their cards.

Joey grinned and put one magic card face down and played Darkfire Soldier #1 (1700/1150) in attack mode.

"Come and get me, Yami!"

Yami drew a card and placed "Curse of Dragon" on the field in attack mode. "Curse of Dragon, attack Joey's monster!"

Joey laughed. "Not so fast! I equip my Darkfire Soldier with the Malevolent Nuzzler, bringing him up to 2400 attack points!"

Yami's monster disappeared and his Life Points dropped to 7600. The pharaoh growled and placed a magic card face down. "End Turn."

Joey picked up another card and placed his Flame Swordsman in attack mode. "You know what's coming, right? Flame Swordsman! Attack Yami directly!"

Yami's Life Points went down to 5800.

"Wait, there's more! Darkfire Soldier! Attack Yami directly again!"

Yami screamed as the Darkfire Soldier's attack hit him, bringing him down to 3400. Yami started to sweat. He could feel the intensity of the heat as the monster attacked.

Joey glared. "Not so tough now, are you?"

Yami put his Giant Soldier of Stone in defense mode and ended his turn.

Joey picked up a card and raised an eyebrow. 'I don't remember having this in my deck. Hmm…Wow! It's more powerful than Seto's Blue Eyes! I'd be a fool not to play this card!'

Joey grinned. "It's time to say goodbye to your Giant Soldier of Stone!"

**************************

Bakura followed the clanging points of the Ring to locate the Millennium Rod. He found Marik in the control room face down, his body twitching.

Bakura kneeled beside him and brushed his hands through Marik's hair.

"Ishtar! Wake up!"

Marik opened his eyes and he let out a whimper. "Safety……protocol….off."

Bakura took the Millennium Rod into his hands. "What?"

"Safety…protocol off…Yami."

Bakura stood up and went to the Safety Protocol Panel. The safety controls were reduced to half. No wonder Aten was thrown off of the platform! "Yami removed the safety protocols?"

Marik rolled on his back gasping. "Yes."

Bakura growled. "Yami has some explaining to do, Ishtar!"

"Aten! Is my boy alright?"

Bakura kneeled beside Marik. "Aten is okay. He lost his duel with Yami and has some bruising on his back, but he'll live."

"His heart?"

"Still beating, Marik."

A sigh of relief came from the blond. "Thank you, Ra."

"The pup is dueling Yami right now. Take your time getting up."

"Yami's in deep shit," Marik growled as he tried to stagger to his feet.

*******************************

Joey grinned. "I play The Unfaithful Guardian in attack mode!"

Joey placed the card on his duel disk and Steven appeared. Aten shrieked in terror and Malik screamed, hiding behind Ryou.

Steven opened his palm and suddenly everyone became frozen.

"Mommy! Tan't moof!"

Steven ran for the edge of the arena and jumped over it! The villain stood in front of the growling, frozen girl.

"Hello, my little granddaughter. So nice to see you."

/YAMI! DAD!/

Bakura and Marik looked down at the arena and gasped. "Oh my Ra! Is that who I think it is, Itemri?"

Bakura narrowed his eyes and focused in on the figure. "Shit!" Bakura darted out of the control room, his canines sharpened, his hair spiky and twitching.

Steven took Aria in his arms. "Your Shadow Powers are useless with this spell cast on you, my dear."

"Daddy! Please! Don't take Aria!"

Steven stood in front of Ryou. "Well, hello……son."

"Dad, leave the kids alone. You want a hostage, take me instead."

Steven chuckled. "I'd much rather take what is important to you, Ryou. I know how much you love your daughter." Steven stroked Aten's cheek. "And I know how much you love your son."

Aku separated from Aten. "We both love your son, Ryou. Such a…sweet and obedient little boy."

"Your daughter belongs to me now, Ryou! She'll be such a sweet addition to my army of duel monsters."

Aria growled, trying to fight back the powers that bound her.

"Goodbye, boy. Don't worry about Aria. She's in good hands!"

Steven and Aku disappeared in a purple haze.

The spell wore off and Aten fell forward on Ryou limp.

"Aten? Aten?"

Marik and Bakura ran into the dueling arena and found Ryou rocking Aten and whimpering with worry.

"Marik! It's Aten! He just went unconscious!"

Marik and Malik rushed to Aten and checked his pupils. "He just fainted. Bakura, go get some water."

Joey jumped down from the dueling platform.

"We're not done yet!" Yami called to him.

"Aria's been kidnapped, Yami! We can pick this up later!" Joey ran to Aten. "Wake up, little guy. Come on."

Robbie gripped onto Miranda. "Is he okay?"

Marik splashed some water on Aten's face. "Wake up, little monkey. Open your eyes, son."

"Awia…."

"Aten, wake up, baby," Ryou encouraged him by rubbing the right side of his back.

Aten opened his eyes. "Where's my tisser?"

Bakura turned to Joey. "Let me see that card, Joey!"

Joey handed the card to Bakura. "It was just in my deck when I started dueling. I don't even remember owning that card."

Marik looked at it with Bakura. "I don't believe it! Steven has a card now!"

Bakura growled at the card. "I don't know who did this, but this is not a joke! I'm going to the Shadow Realm to get my daughter back!"

Ryou turned to Miranda. "Can you watch Aten?"

Aten clung to Ryou. "No, mommy! My tisser nees me!"

"Aten, honey, you just had two shocks to your system."

"Awia nees me, mommy!"

Ryou looked down at his chibi. "It will be dangerous, Aten."

Aten nodded. "I know."

Robbie gripped onto Aten. "I wanna go, too!"

Ryou shook his head. "I don't think that is a good idea, Robbie. You and Miranda are safe here."

"I'm going," Yugi said. "Yami?"

Yami groaned. "Yeah, I guess."

Bakura and Marik stepped a safe distance away and faced each other with their items. "Shadow Magic, open a portal to the Shadow Realm!"

A thick, purple haze appeared in the room. The crowd entered.

At Bakura's feet, the Earthbound Spirit appeared. "Lord Bakura! What brings you here?"

"My daughter was kidnapped and brought here by a monster called The Unfaithful Guardian. Where is he?"

"I know not, my lord."

Aten narrowed his eyes at the fibbing monster. "He knows, Daddy Bakuwa! He was wif mommy's daddy when mommy's daddy was tutting my bat!"

Bakura growled. "You know where he is, Earthbound Spirit! Tell me!"

"I will not betray my new master."

Bakura narrowed his eyes. "You had better tell me or I will banish you to the Shadow Realm Badlands!"

The Earthbound Spirit disappeared. Bakura looked around the purple void in front of him.

"ARIA!!!!!!!!! ARIA!"

Ryou wiped away tears from his eyes. "ARIA! BABY GIRL! IT'S MOMMY!"

"Hello…," a tiny voice said. Aten gasped at the small child who looked just like him. "Hello, Master Aten."

Aten approached the boy. "Who are you?"

"The Helpless Child. I've come to help you find your sister. I have also come to give you this."

The child held out The Helpless Child card. Aten took it and smiled. "Tankoo."

Marik heard a roar of a dragon over his head. Seto and Marik looked up to see The Nightmare Dragon roaring loudly. The three Blue Eyes White Dragons and the Red Eyes Black Dragon followed it.

"The Nightmare Dragon isn't happy," the Helpless Child sighed.

"Where is she? Where is Aria?" Ryou pleaded.

The Helpless Child sobbed.

Marik removed his deck from his pocket. "WINGED DRAGON OF RA! COME TO YOUR MASTER!"

A loud roar and the Winged Dragon of Ra landed beside Marik, lowering its head submissively.

"Lead us to where Aria Kanika is being held!"

The Helpless Child followed his master to the temple where the Unfaithful Guardian resided.

Bakura gripped his Millennium Ring tightly. "It ends here, Ishtar!"

Marik growled as his hair spiked. "It's payback time!"
