Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ How the Beginning Began ❯ An old end, and a new beginning ( Chapter 4 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

A/N: Okay guys, this is just pathetic. I have had my story viewed AT LEAST 10 times, and not one review. Not one. Not even a FLAME!! Seriously, this is pathetic. I have seen far worse stories, which had been viewed less, and had AT LEAST one flame. If you want me to leave, and are using the “shunning” technique, it ain't gonna work. You can't get rid of me, so, SEND those nasty thoughts. I prefer the truth thank-you-very-much; of course, nice reviews and fanart are accepted with much thanks and immature eagerness. Now, without further ado, the fic…

Disclaimer: I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh! If I did, than Tea would get some female friends.

The moon shone gently on the desert, betraying its shock. It was a star!! A brand new star! And coming from the most peculiar place too. She had watched the turquoise fairy come carrying it like a baby, and gently releasing it. Now, it was floating upwards like thistle down. She shone her light gently on it, feeling oddly like a mother. The baby star seemed to have been waiting for this though, for as her light shone on it, it divided, not in half, but like light separating from dark, but not exactly like that either. More like separating the egg yolk from the egg white, in fact exactly like that, for it seemed to divide into a star and…something else. But, it was clear the star would nurture the other part of it. The star continued to float rapidly upward, but the other half, it began to float slowly down to the Nile River, where it slowly sank into the water. While the moon puzzled over this, and Fairy's Gift returned to her mistress' side, the star finally reached its destination, and it began to pulse with light, not much, but enough. It settled into its place, and, if it had had a mouth, would have let out a sigh of contentment. Back on the ground, the pulsing energy had reached the light, and began to solidify it, enough that the current could carry it to other places. It began to form a recognizable outline, slowly but surely. Until when the current finally deposited it on the bank, it had taken the form of a human baby, wrapped in a blanket of cloth that was like mist. It was far from where it had originally come from, else it would have seen the sun rising, and heard the trumpets, announcing the pharaoh's appearance (A/N: Yami's father, NOT Yami. Yami has not been born yet.), and would have seen Panya gazing at the Pharaoh, and seen the gaze that the Pharaoh mirrored. And it would have known, known in the wisdom of all babies; that she loved him, and he loved her. But it didn't, it could only lie there. And do what is most logical for babies. Cry. Thus it cried. And attracted the attention of one who should have been dead. Satan.

****************Scene Change****************

In the fire and ice of hell, the devil lay thinking. For one of his demons had just given him the most intriguing information. The archangel had a child. Not just any child, but a girl. A girl would be easy prey. `The perfect way to get to her father,' he thought. Whether he had done it purposely or not mattered not to him, all that mattered was that he would at last be one step ahead of him. At last. He laughed, and evil laugh. The child was weak now, weak and alone. That Fairy had seen to that. Ironic really, that one dedicated to everyone's happiness should unwittingly aid him in causing great calamity. He would have to remember to destroy her later. In the meantime, he had more important things to do, like capture a baby.

***************Scene Change****************

The baby squirmed. Babies have a knack of knowing good from bad, and she knew that bad was coming. And lots of it. Another seemed to know it as well, but was unsure if it was fact. The water by the baby first boiled, then froze completely over as the Devil walked upon it. And the other knew what was wrong, and it hurried. Satan sneered as he walked to the baby. The baby screamed with fear. But it did not affect him, for he had no conscience, just his own twisted wants. A cloud covered the sun, shrouding the area in darkness. The baby was far from scared now, she was terrified. And the star knew this, and tried to send energy to it, to aid it and save others as well. The baby choked at the new confidence coursing through it. Her eyes began to glow a pale gold, and light began to form around her neck. Satan howled with rage just as Fairy's Gift crashed through the trees. She stopped, frightened. Satan growled furiously, “If I can't get you than at least I can make you incapable of control,” while simultaneously forcing his hand on her stomach, burning the delicate skin, just as what was within her was released. The powers seemed to consider whether they would let her use them, after being marked with something so evil. But it was brushed aside and the gold light forced him to his knees, “You haven't seen the last of me, I will remember you!!” he howled as he was sent back to where he had been for as long as anyone can remember. The light faded, solidifying into a rainbow stone on a silver chain around the baby's neck. Fairy's Gift approached cautiously, half expecting the same treatment. But instead, her presence seemed to trigger the magic again, granting it the use of the baby to deliver a message,

For light was made,
And for light will fall
A part of fate,
Another call.

A king is born, an angel made,
Same yet different, for both will fall
For light yet dark, for both were made,
For light to save, and light to call.

In this world, good can't be told,
For in light lies dark, and in dark lies light.
Lives return, however old,
To do what must, and fight for right.

He who sends her to her fate,
May be also her redeemer,
For with two faces, one you hate,
One can never tell the victor.

Weak and strong,
Pale and bright.
One is wrong,
And one is right.

Fairy's Gift shook her head, no use trying to understand what she never would. She would record this, as it was important, that she knew. In the meantime, she reached to grab the baby, but was burned as she touched the baby's skin. Tears streamed from her eyes, fate did not will for her to care for the baby. She was almost sure that she would never see the baby again. Tears still streaming from her eyes, she flew away, to her home, to her mistress, to her duty, and to her new life, leaving a baby, lost and alone.

Lost…

Whew! That was the LONGEST chapter I have ever done. It was at least two pages. Record Baby!! Oh Yeah! Anyway, this is the end of this story, for the introduction is now complete. Keep an eye out for Nine Lives, the real story. I can't believe it; my baby is off to nursery school, swinging its lunch box. I worked for a long time on this chapter, the prophecy took FOREVER, I had to toy with three different endings, and introducing the baby's magic took forever, I didn't want to make it sound corny. It sounds corny anyway. Alas, we can't all be perfect…but I still have the excuse of it being my first fic. I shan't have that excuse anymore. Remember, keep and eye out for Nine Lives, and Review please. Fanart would be nice too.
