Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ I May Never Come Back ❯ Prolouge ( Prologue )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Hi, it's me! Yes, the girl with barely any reviews no matter how hard she tries! -_- *sighs* Unfortunately, I, the girl with barely any reviews, is writing my second yoai fic, and there's NOTHING Oracle Mizuno can do about it! Who is Oracle Mizuno, you ask? Why, she is my best friend who just happens to be all the way against yoai. -_- I don't know how anyone can LIVE without yoai! It is SOOOOO cute!!! I'm rambling, aren't I?

ANY ways, I hope you enjoy the story, or at least read it.

BTW, Yugi and Yami have separate bodies. It's easier that way... ^^;;

And no, I don't own YGO. Too bad. Sucks to be me.

***WARNING: DO NOT THIS READ IF YOU DO NOT LIKE YOAI. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS, NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO FIND OUT. IF YOU DO LIKE YOAI, THEN BY ALL MEANS READ AND ENJOY. IF YOU DON'T, THEN FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER GOD YOU BELIEVE IN, LEAVE!!!***

I May Never Come Back

(A very short) Prologue (Makes no sense, but you'll understand later. It's just the prologue to chapter one. Well, I can't really say what it is. It's the present. The story is told in the past and eventually goes through the present to the future. Explain a lot? Understand? Good, because I don't @.@)

It is late Monday afternoon. A very dark, cloudy, rainy day. All alone in his room, sits little Yugi Mutou, crying ever so much. The weather today seems to reflect Yugi's thoughts and emotions like nothing you've ever seen before. If only Yugi had seen the truth, he would not have done what he's about to do.

Betrayal can hurt, especially if it's by the one you love the most, but perhaps it's not betrayal we see here? Perhaps it's something more complex than that, and believed to be betrayal? Promises are hard to keep, but this one... was never broken...

Sunday. A cloudy, but not dark and rainy day. Perfect time for a heartbreak by those you love the most.

Yugi ran out of the flower store, carrying a bunch of red roses. `This is it. This is the day I'm going to tell him. The day I gather up all my courage and tell Yami that I love him,' he thought to himself, running down the street towards the Kame Game shop, where he was sure to find Yami.

He ran through the door, calling out, "I'm home!" Hearing no answer he went to the shop part where Solomon (A/N: That's right, right? x.x His name is so hard to remember...), Yugi's grandfather, was tending to the customers. "Ne, grandpa, where's Yami?"

"Oh, he's upstairs in your room..." the old man said, trailing off. "He said he had something important to tell you."

"Okay. Thanks, grandpa!" Yugi ran upstairs to his room to find Yami sitting on his bed. Yugi quickly hid the flowers behind his back. "Oh, hi Yami! I... uhh... umm... what did you wan to talk about?"

"Oh, ahh, umm, you see it's like this..." Yami took a deep breath. "I have to go for a while, you know, get away from it all, you know? I need to... find myself, kind of. Sort of. And, you see... I just need time to myself, so I'll be out of town, and I'm afraid I'll have to shut off our mental link, and..."

Yugi looked absolutely shocked. "But Yami! Why?! You said you would never leave me! Why break that promise?!"

"I must..."

"But... I... I..." Tears started welling up in Yugi's eyes, until he turned around, still hiding the flowers, and rushed into the bathroom.

Yami quickly got up and went to the washroom, which was locked. "Yugi..." Yami reasoned, "I must... please let me in..."

"No! If you have to leave, leave, but... you will be back, wont you?"

"Well, I may be back in a few days, weeks, months, years, I... I may never come back..." Yami whispered just barely enough for Yugi to hear.

From inside the bathroom, Yugi's eyes overflowed with tears that had been there a while now. "But, Yami, I-I-I l-lo-..." Yugi could say it. He couldn't tell Yami he loved him. He couldn't prevent his loved one from leaving him. Poor, poor, little Yugi...

"You what, Yugi?"

"Nothing, nothing at all!" Yugi quickly covered up. "I'll miss you, though, please come back soon... please..."

"I will try my best, Yugi, but I can't make any promises about that. But I do promise that I will try my very hardest to come back... and promises... I always keep. I will return to you, Yugi, my koishii ne tenshi (1), you have my word... goodbye, Yugi... goodbye..." At those last words, Yami departed, perhaps never to be seen again...
