The cool hands of night wrap their spindly fingers around the souls of the dead and return them to their bodies in a wave of waking, should those bodies rise they will be the undead for eternity, cursed to feed on the living like a disease. Or at least that is what the fiction books tell you. The reality is that creatures of the undying are evolved mortals, it started with a child who had unusual genetics and was passed on with blood sharing. And then, the bloodsucking you ask? The genetic change is not supported by a mortal body and the blood dries up at alarming rates, bloodsucking is the answer to becoming a husk in a matter of weeks. Over the centuries the act of finding someone to drink has become part of the natural desire for vampires.

And yet, as the last rays of light escape the sky like a fading bad dream, the mystical origins of the undead rise to your mind, forgetting the facts. After all, magic is real, why not these beings' existence.

With a soft breathe of life, cobalt eyes opened to their life of endless nighttimes. In less then a second he was aware of everything in the room, and there was more than there should have been. Six heartbeats reasoned in his ears, only one was familiar; Jounouchi's. The rest had a similar beat, which he realized was slightly softer than a human's. All six people were Fairies. There were only two people talking, Jounouchi and another. The soft hum of electric machinery caught his attention. He could see the very threads of the gauze above him.

"I see I am still alive. How curious." Kaiba sat up as if he were pulled as he spoke, catching several unusual eyes blinking back to normal. So there was a way to tell the difference between Fairies and humans. How curious indeed.

Jounouchi's heartbeat almost skipped. "Jesus fucking Christ! Wanna warn us before you do that again?"

Seto leveled the Fairy with his hunter eyes, the pupils in his eyes had expanded to unnatural size until only a thin glowing rim of blue was visible. "So sorry to scare you, puppy. I'll try not wake up next time, shall I?"

Jounouchi took a step back, hand going to his gun. "Fuuuuck." The Fairy swallowed. "What is up with you, Kaiba?"

Seto hopped off the bed and took a few steps in Jounouchi's direction; of course, to everyone else in the room it appeared as if he just appeared a few steps away from the blonde. Six guns had their safety clicked off and trained on the brunette instantly.

Seto raised his hands in amusement. "I just woke up puppy; don't tell me I was left alone all day until I woke? If you're going to kill me, go ahead."

Jounouchi swallowed again, his gun wavered as he starred at Seto's freaky eyes. Seto smirked; he'd already gotten a foothold in Jounouchi's mind, if he wanted he could make Jounouchi shoot his own comrades.

The vampire blinked and shook his head; he would never do that to the hot little blonde. He'd rather lay the Fairy down and kiss him naked and run his hands through the puppy's hair and…

"My apologies, I must go, the night is young and I must feed before I am in control again. I will be back in a few minutes." Seto turned his head so Jounouchi wouldn't see the look that crossed his face as he tried to divert the alien thoughts in his head. This was why he had stayed away from everyone in the first few years, when he wasn't blood-lusting he was talking strangely, playing mind games with everyone, the dreams had been unusual too, constantly fighting with some guy, he remembered how after he'd finally won in the dreams he'd seen things in a different light, been able to gain control a bit more.

He forced himself to turn slowly and walk out the door, he'd gone to sleep without his gloves but there was a spare pair in a secret compartment beside the lift upstairs. He retrieved these and took the lift up to the ground level. He looked at the night security, it would be too much trouble to find someone else to munch on; this girl looked like she could spare a little blood.

The security guard didn't know what had hit her. To a mortal, Seto just appeared and grabbed her, but even the memories of what happened would be clouded. The woman's blood was sweet and coffee tasting, she'd had coffee recently. She barely even struggled as Kaiba took the pain off his hunger. The vampire's eyes dilated until they were back to normal and his mind wasn't as creepy thinking as it had been. He was still famished, unlike he had been when he'd taken Jounouchi's blood, the blonde hadn't tasted like anything special but Seto only now realized that he'd only had the blonde that night and he'd felt better for it.

"That is pretty freaky." Jounouchi's voice caught him by surprise and Seto whirled on the Fairy. Jounouchi must have hotwired the lift or cast a magic spell or something. Kaiba hadn't even heard the blonde approach.

"I am what I was turned into, dog."

"Would ya' can it wit' da' animal annotations. Dey're kinda' irritating."

Kaiba raised an eyebrow. "No."

Jounouchi sighed, beautiful eyes closing in a moment of frustration. The blonde looked endlessly tired. "Thought I'd at least ask, anyway. What was wit' ya' down dere? Ya' looked like ya' were another person."

Seto shrugged and stepped away from his now sleeping victim. "I'm like that all the time when I wake up. The hunger is greatest then."

Jou shivered. "Would ya' have fed on me if I hada' still been asleep when ya' woke?"

"No." Seto let a little smirk curve his lips; his teeth were white and unbloodied. He was a clean eater. "Would you want me to, puppy?"

The russet eyed Fairy shook his head mutely; he swallowed softly and stepped back into the lift. "Come join us in yer' room ta' discuss da' situation when ye've finished being creepy."

Seto ran to the lift and pinned Jounouchi against the wall all in the blink of an eye. "You have no idea how creepy I can be Jounouchi. You're so scared that your heart keeps beating rapidly, are you worried that you can't beat me with your little magic spells? What if I hadn't of realized I was dinning on you and just kept drinking?"

Jounouchi made a little whimpering sound; it was as if most of the fight had been drained from him earlier and now he was just weak. His lips were half parted, full in invitation.

Seto stared at Jounouchi's lips, so kissable…

It was too late when he realized that he'd forgotten himself and closed the gap between them, forcing Jounouchi's head up and catching the blonde's lips in a searing kiss. It felt like molten heat passed between them, Jounouchi seemed to melt into the vampire's touch and the world narrowed down to the sensation of flesh on flesh.

Seto pulled back, his eyes had gone hunter again. He blinked until they dilated back to normal, meeting Jounouchi's stunned look until the Fairy had to look away.

The ex-CEO stepped back and pushed the button, taking them down to the lower level. He couldn't believe he'd just done that.

They went down in silence, neither able to form enough thought to speak or make a crude remark. Seto was busy hitting his head against a mental wall. And even though the vampire could tell you the exact pattern of the Fairy's heartbeat, the blonde's thoughts were alien to him.

The lift dinged and they walked out quietly to rejoin the others in Kaiba's room.

"Yer' such a jerk, Kaiba." Jounouchi muttered before they went into the room.

Kaiba didn't retort, he still had the taste of Jounouchi on his lips.

"I hope you are ready now, because we are losing precious time sitting here, Duke Katsuya insisted that everyone be prepared before we leave to give the briefing."

Seto blinked. "Where are 'we' going?"

"Fae Land." One of the dark suited Fairies answered him.

Seto looked around at the gathered creatures. "And why am I included?"

"Because you are a witness." Jounouchi answered him. "Besides, don't you just want to know what happens now?"

"I'm a witness… to what? Those dead bodies? Why would you need a second witness of dead bodies, wouldn't it be enough that one person saw them and the coroner's report…?"

The leader of the five new Fairies stepped into the light and Seto was shocked to realize it was Honda, the kid that Jounouchi had been like best friends with, according to his records; Honda had started a bike shop. He would never have of pegged Honda for a Fairy.

"Because them being murdered means war, Kaiba. And the Queen will not simply believe me if I say I saw it alone."

Seto stared at Jounouchi. He hadn't signed up for war.

Whether it was the taste of the Fairy still on his lips or something else, the vampire ended up nodding his head.

Yami: Yeah!!! When do we come into it?

Sweets: You don't.

Yami: What???

Sweets: I write too much about you two, it's time for Seto and Jou to have some action. He, they're so cute.

Ryou: *stroking a baseball bat* That's all well and nice, darling, but… I believe you have a story or two with ME in them that could do with some attention?

Sweets: ^_^;;;; Really? Gee fancy that… eheh…. Eheh… *facefaults* alright, caught me, I'll get on them tomorrow.

Ryou: Hey, hey! No tomorrows about it, I want them now, missie!
