Jou fell into his hammock with an explosive sigh. He could barely lift his fingers to his head to call his armor back he was so tired. The sounds of yelling and laughing outside had faded to the back of his mind and now all he could hear was the dull throbbing of his headache. It had been three hours since they had finally forced the Elves to retreat with their forces in tatters. Lethelm and Aesccot had insisted on giving the Duke their reports on the losses and kills by the archery and main forces of the first Gold Division and Katsuya was pretty sure he could have spent the hours better. His legs were one massive ache from riding Ta'gen and from standing around for so long. There was a plate of fruit next to his bed and he picked at the offerings dutifully. He knew better than to waste such a frivolity by submitting to his desire to sleep. Who knew how long this war would last, or how long these fresh supplies would last?

"You look as tired as I feel." Seto Kaiba's voice interrupted Jou's revere.

"I'm eating because I know 'dat it might not be here later, if 'dat's any indication o' how tired I am."

"It is. Are you injured still?"

Jou shook his head and glanced over at the vampire in the doorway; Seto was wearing his flimsy clothing like Jou and was artfully slumped against the tent-poll. "No. Did ya' want somethin', Kaiba?"

"I did a little while ago, but the walk from my tent to yours took it all out of me." Seto told Jounouchi nice and cryptically. Jou shrugged as best he could and munched on some apple.

"Thanks for 'dat thing before… wit' da' wraiths."

"I didn't get much choice in the matter; Ta'gen pretty much demanded my cooperation."

"She does have her ways." Jou smiled, he liked that dragon; she was funny and powerful at the same time. Farseer had been a mount who was powerful and majestic, but he'd changed a lot over the last one-hundred years and the Luther dragon seemed more his style these days. That said, she had said some perverted things on the battle-field regarding the save from Seto, to which Jou had politely told her where to shove those ideas.

Seto ambled into the room, he still had a dark smear on his cheek from his battle with the wraiths, but otherwise he looked pretty fresh compared to Jou who had blood of different colors all over his arms and legs, perhaps his only clean parts were his hands which had received a dip in washing water. Jou wasn't going to waste anything for his body when he knew supplies were only so strong.

"I do have a few questions for you." Seto murmured, pulling up a seat and reclining. They were both exhausted and Jounouchi just didn't have the energy to think up any special retorts or insults. It had been a long day.

"Fire away." Jou mumbled.

"What are demonslayers, and why does that mean some people have to take on those huge monsters alone? I saw that Arel thing, its body was coated in blood, I could smell it from that far away."

Jounouchi grimaced; he'd forgotten that Kaiba was a retard on his magical knowledge. "I should probably teach ya' a few other things while we've got da' chance… ah, demonslayers are pretty much just 'dat. Demons don't like Fairies much and actually believe 'dat 'dey are our biggest enemies. 'Dey're not, but 'dey do like ta' cause us trouble as much as possible; so there are a few Fairies 'dat train ta' destroy demons quickly and efficiently before 'dey actually become a problem, I took a few years in 'da area, but it's mostly just intensive training on spells ta' blast demons apart. 'Dey're tough bastards and unfortunately Elves like ta' rub it in 'dat 'da demons always want ta' kill us. Demonslayers can take on demons alone 'cause despite their size; demons are only one creature, Kaiba."

Seto nodded. "I see. What else were you going to teach me?"

"Maybe some magic. Ya' could learn to turn yer' spell-vision on for one thing."

Kaiba snorted but didn't say anything. That was just how tired the vampire was too.

Jou held up his pointer finger. "First, think about this rock that I'm holdin'."

"You're not holding a rock, Jounouchi."

"Aren't I?" Jou smiled condescendingly and Seto frowned, looking more closely at Jou's hand.

Jounouchi knew the vampire wouldn't see the illusion rock straight away, but the first part was learning that the magic was actually there, not that it could always been seen. He glanced at his hand at made sure it was still brown; spells had a tendency to slip if you didn't use words to hold them up.

"You're not holding one at all; I can't see even dust on your hands." Seto growled.

"I'm holding one, but ya' can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there, Kaiba."

"Fine, teach me this spell-vision thing so I can see it."

"Alright, keep looking at my hand and think about the color of the rock. It's small and rough in texture, no good for throwing."

Seto's eyes dilated a few times. "You want me to guess?"

"It's there Seto, don't guess, piece it together in yer mind, ya' already know what its texture is, now what's its color? Think about the color."

Seto refocused on the Fairy's hand and Jounouchi squeezed the illusion, rubbing his hands over it so Seto got the impression that it was real.

Seto's brow furrowed and Jounouchi bit back a smile, he was really concentrating hard on this. It was fun to see Seto learning about new stuff like this.

A flicker of red slid over Kaiba's eyes and Jounouchi frowned, people's eyes didn't change color when they were staring at spells, spell-vision was in your mind, it was a matter of mental capacity, not actual eye-sight, or blind people would never be able to catch spells thrown at them. Another flicker passed through Seto's eyes before the vampire finally answered. "It's brown."

"Wow that was good. But what was with your eyes just then? They were…" Jounouchi's words dried up, the eyes that were looking at him right now were brown, not cobalt.

"Seto…?"

Seto arched an eyebrow, his posture was changing slightly, instead of bone-tired; the vampire was looking regal and impervious. Seto looked like that normally, but not this tired.

Jounouchi sat up, something was wrong, this wasn't Kaiba. "Seto, is 'dat ya'?"

"Who else would it be, Duke Katsuya?" Seto asked in perfect, unaccented English. Seto's English was not that good.

Something was VERY wrong, Seto didn't call him by his titles OR his last name, let alone his first name half the time. "Who da' hell are you? And where is da' vampire?"

Seto laughed, and it wasn't his laughter, it was a dark sound that made Jounouchi shudder, it was a sound that was too deep for Seto's laugh. "The vampire is right here… puppy."

Jou reached for his sword, he didn't get very far, Seto's body was on him in an instant and his arm was caught in a cold grip. "Who da' fuck are ya? What do ya' want?"

"Ah, that's the beautiful thing, isn't it? Everyone wants something. I want control. That man wants you… and what do you want? I remember the way your body responds to him; you want him, don't you?" His Japanese was less than perfect, it was slow and the words he used were all couplings with darker things. He obviously didn't like speaking it as much as Jounouchi did.

"I want ta' know who you are, 'dat's what I want."

"Oh, nice, good evasion. I am me, Fairy. I'm the thing that makes him go crazy if he doesn't feed, I'm the thing that makes him do what he really wants to do. Remember the elevator? That was me, Fairy. You liked him like that?"

Jounouchi opened his mouth in mute horror and shook his head. There was something else inside Seto's mind? No wonder the Queen said he wasn't like normal vampires.

"Oh, come on; tell me you didn't wonder if he'd drink you dry? Tell me you wouldn't want to touch death, real death, just once, let it caress your thighs and stomach…"

Seto's head came down and a wet tongue trailed along Jounouchi's neck. It made Jounouchi's blood run cold, this wasn't Seto… and whoever it was… they were a real pervert. He knew if this vampire got hungry, he wouldn't stop because he recognized the victim. "I've been close to death many times. I don't really like it much."

Seto's body pulled back and the thing inside him laughed in that deep voice. "Oh good answer. Good answer. But I'm tired now… maybe next time I will have more energy… more blood to burn… just make him try to use my magic again, I'll wake up… I'm always there."

Those brown eyes winked at Jounouchi and then Seto's whole body just slumped and Jounouchi was suddenly buried under him. The Fairy didn't move for the longest time, he was trying very hard not to scream for help and send Kaiba the fuck away from him. Just when he'd made up his mind to get Kaiba out of the hell-planes the vampire stirred. Jounouchi swore he stopped breathing.

"What the… how did I get over here?" Seto pulled back off Jounouchi, rubbing his eyes tiredly.

"You don't remember?"

"No. I don't have the energy to figure out what color the stone is… if it's really there, and I think I should get something to drink; I'm starting to feel attracted to your neck." Kaiba smirked like he was sharing a joke but stopped when he saw Jounouchi's pale face. "What is it, puppy?"

"You don't remember…?" Jou asked again, still in shock.

"Remember… did I try to bite you just then?"

Jounouchi's eyes turned purple. "Ya' seriously do not even have a clue what ya' just did, do ya'? Or whatever da' fuck 'dat was?"

"I apologize if I tried to bite you, I usually have more control. I will go and feed, puppy."

Jounouchi swallowed, still worried that he wasn't Seto yet. "Seto…?"

"What?" The vampire was already at the entrance.

"That is you, isn't it?"

"Who else would I be, puppy? The boogey man?"

"…It should scare you that I can answer yes to that."

Seto frowned but shook his head. "Whatever, you're pulse is erratic as all hell. Get some sleep, puppy."

Like he could sleep after that. Seto exited and Jounouchi slumped back down, he reached for his sword and brought it closer to the bed.

Jounouchi was about to close the tent up when he realized he still had the illusionary stone in his hand.

"At least the other one isn't a complete magic retard…" He mused.
