Ryo leaned back against the plastic seating of the metro as it moved on, crossing his arms against his chest with a sigh. He couldn't figure out if it was a good idea to talk to Bakura about this, or if he was just thinking about things way too much. There was no way that Malik would be doing something stupid -- that was just, well ironically stupid. He was smarter than that, right? Oh great. Now he was starting to accuse Malik of things. Dammit! He was trying not to do this. Ryo rolled his eyes as he mentally kicked himself in the ass, leaning forward to pick up his backpack as the metro came closer and closer to his station.
He stood up from his seat as the train moved forward, holding onto the bar as he leaned forward to glance out the window as the station slowly passed by. When it stopped the doors were positioned in just a way that they opened up to show Bakura standing right there, his arms crossed over his chest, and a smile tracing his lower lip. The doors opened up and Ryo stole his smile, stepping off as the wind from the train blew his hair out of whack.
Bakura reached forward and brushed each strand away from Ryo's face, stepping back a moment later with a questioning glance. "Where's Malik?" Where there was one, there was usually two and so Malik missing was like the sun exploding in the sky. It didn't really happen.. but it might if something went horribly wrong like the universe deciding that card games were too awesome for cards. That didn't really make sense to Bakura, but Ryo explained it better in the end.
"Went to pick up his Quantum Mechanics IV from Almondo's; he said he left it there." Ryo said, running his fingertips through his white hair. Bakura may have been able to be sweet with his gesture, but he really didn't know the way it was supposed to go. As the train pulled away from the station, Ryo brought down his hand and noticed that his counter part was just standing there bewildered. He looked as if he didn't understand what Ryo had told him.
Shaking his head, the white haired boy brought up his arm and wrapped it against Ryo's shoulders. "Malik knows Physics?" He questioned, tilting his head towards the other questioningly. He didn't really know a lot about Malik other than what Marik or Ryo told him -- everything else wasn't really his business -- so to hear that he was studying something that involved a ton of thought.. was surprising. He always figured that Malik would be the one working Marik for the rest of his life.. as bad as that sounded.
"Yes.. he's in the same class as me, I told you before Bakura." Ryo said, making a face as he walked along with Bakura. Instead of answering with a witty and thoughtful answer, Bakura just turned his head to the side and placed a kiss against Ryo's lower lip. With his arm still resting against Ryo's shoulder, Bakura tightened his grip and pulled his light in just a little bit closer. The combination of their hair was enough to block any stare Ryo may have been bothered by. Bakura bit down against the softened flesh and with a smile pulled back until it slipped from his teeth -- that brought Ryo's attention to him, whether it was intentional or just really intentional.
"Sometimes I forget." Bakura said, still smiling to himself. Under normal circumstances, Ryo would've been worried about being so affectionate in such a public place but all things considered it wasn't that big of an offense. The sweetness seemed to balance it out in the end, and so Ryo leaned forward, pressing his lips against Bakura's own in a small embrace. He even laced his fingers around Bakura's as he did so, pulling down against the arm on over his shoulders. Though the kiss was sweet in every imaginable way, it was Bakura who was more surprised in the end as he pulled back to see Ryo with a smile tracing his lower lip.
"Stole your smile." Ryo replied, tilting his head to the side. Despite the way he acted sometimes, he still somehow managed to surprise Bakura from time to time and this.. was one of those instances. His counter part was left without a single word to say to him and only stood for a moment as Ryo kept his fingers laced within Bakura's own, adding: "You can't just stand here you know."
The white haired boy shook his head as he started to walk down the steps of the metro, Bakura at his side, and started to talk about the things that happened at school. It was inevitable that Bakura would hear about it sooner or later, but at least if he heard about it now he wouldn't be too surprised about it later. Ryo had a tendency to repeat himself.. something that made him smile a little more. It was odd to think, wasn't it? That Ryo and himself could have such a pleasant relationship after how things had.. sadly begun. He didn't even like to think about the things he used to do at the risk of feeling sorry for Ryo -- he told him every time it was the past, and it should remain there.
He spent so much time thinking about how to make up for something that Ryo had already forgiven him for, that he didn't seem to realize it really didn't matter anymore. It was himself who didn't seem to understand the idea. Bakura finally stopped thinking about it the moment he felt another kiss; Ryo leaned back with just enough space between them to see into his eyes. "Hey, were you listening to me?"
Bakura smiled to himself, lowering his head slightly: "No, I wasn't."
"I didn't think so -- I'll tell you later." Ryo said with a laugh, pulling Bakura's arm away from his shoulders as he spun out from beneath it and still managed to keep their fingers laced between them. He wasn't about to let go just yet. Where they lived not many people bothered them because not many people cared about things like this -- it was nice for Ryo to know he could go home and not worry about touching, kissing, or even holding Bakura's hand. It was just perfect, no other words could describe it. The Andersons next door were always friendly and said good-morning when he left for school, David Leyoung and his girlfriend always had a thing or two to Gossip about -- stars and such -- and even Marik got along with them. that in itself was a bloody miracle.
Parked outside of the house, already waiting, was Hiroto by his motorcycle and his helmet underneath his arm as Jonouchi looked over all the new parts. Hiroto explained to him how they worked and the differing speeds he could now go, but Ryo didn't understand a word of it as he came up to the house. Jonouchi was the first to catch a glimpse of him and smiled as he waved over; "Hey! What took you two so long, the metro's like five minutes from here."
"Things tend to happen when you get sidetracked." Ryo said, still wearing Bakrua's smile.
'Aii -- I don't want to know." Hiroto said, shaking his head as he placed the helmet down against the handle of his motorcycle. He knew what went on between the two of them and honestly he didn't really care: it wasn't really is business. The brunette just went along with everything as he stepped up the steps of the house and opened up the door, finding Marik asleep on the couch. He knew as well as Jonouchi that Marik worked through the night -- from eleven at night until ten the next morning -- so letting him sleep was a given; no one wanted to wake him up.
Hiroto tapped Jonouchi on the shoulder as he gestured him towards the kitchen, walking backwards as he did so towards the door leading out into the backyard. They were going to talk, for sure, and to wake up Marik would be just a wee bit rude. Not even Ryo or Bakura woke him up; that was Malik's job when he came home from school or the cafe like he told Ryo earlier. The white haired twins were the last to come into the house, and the last to leave through the backdoor as Ryo still held onto Bakura's hand as he stepped down the deck stairs towards the grass.
"So where's everyone else, Jonouchi?" Ryo asked, pulling Bakura's arm back over his shoulder.
Jonouchi turned around, his hands resting behind his head, as he leaned up against one of the trees in the yard: "Yuugi had to take a delivery for the Shop, and Yami's watching the store till he comes back. Ryugi sent me a text -- he's on his way."
While Jonouchi talked with Ryo and Bakura, Hiroto was left to his own devices and started up the little Barbeque pit in the back of the yard. If there was one thing he knew about coming over to Ryo's house it was this: there was bound to be a barbeque. Hiroto had unofficially claimed the pit as his own for one of two reasons: he was great at cooking and he was in love with Okonomiyaki. It was just a known fact: barbeque grills meant that they would be eating Okonomiyaki. Now what he was going to make exactly.. well, that was a completely different matter all together.
Hiroto had been so wrapped up in starting up the barbeque that he didn't even take notice the shift of the conversation between Ryo, Bakura and Jonouchi as the white haired boy asked: "Jonouchi, did Malik tell you where he's working?"
"No, why would he tell me?"
"I thought maybe he did." Ryo replied, sighing heavily as he shook his head. The fact that Malik had left so suddenly made him question where he was going -- if even to Almondo's -- and if that was even where he got the money for the rent. Even if he was working a normal job, no one could make that amount on such short notice let alone when they were still in High School. Ryo wondered if maybe he was stretching this into nothing.. maybe Ishizu really did wire him the money.
Bakura leaned closer towards Ryo, nudging him slightly, as his fingertips remained laced in his light's own and asked: "He doesn't need a job -- Marik doesn't want him to work."
"You're probably right; he's too busy with Physics." Ryo said, glancing back towards Bakura and Jonouchi; he followed their gaze as the two looked between each other questioningly. They forgot again. "Oh come on, I told you guys twice already."
"Yeah well.. that was before lunch." Jonouchi said, sticking out his tongue out. He couldn't remember anything in the morning until it was the afternoon -- he wasn't really a morning person and Ryo should've remembered that by now. Now who was having memory problems? Ha, not him that's for sure. But it was Bakura who reached over and smacked his head lightly that he remembered: he didn't like Ryo being made fun of. It was too close to home for his liking.
The tension in that minute was so thick, not even a knife could cut through. Hiroto took this opportunity to call for Jonouchi -- actually screaming for him -- leaving the blonde to excuse himself in a hurry. It was good for Bakura as his eyes watched him leave, right into Ryo's looking right at him. "You know, you really should be a little bit nicer to him." The white haired boy said, making a face as Bakura just sat there.
"I just can't help it. He's a jackass." Bakura replied, Ryo dropping his head against his counter part. Why did he have to make it sound like he was just another idiot? He may have been a little slow at certain things but that wasn't the point! He was still a human being and all people needed -- Bakura leaned in and placed a kiss against his lower lip once more. Though it was only a sweet, second, kiss Ryo still ended up forgetting what he'd been thinking about again.
