Samael’s POV*  *            *

My gaze darted over to the particularly crowd of beachgoers young Mariku referred.  Out of all my fallen angels that are now incarnated, he is the youngest, gullible, easy to lure to the Light.

“Who is the one with the purple hair?” Mariku asked innocently, pointing over to the crowd, his eye on a tall, and violet hair youth.

The youth’s piercing amethyst eyes locked onto Mariku’s.  This wasn’t good.  I knew who he was, archangel Zadkiel in disguise.  If he discovered my identity, I’d be dead.

“Let us be going, my fallen ones,” I whispered urgently.

Mariku, Rishido, Ishizu and I hurried off.  We strolled down on the sun beaten boardwalk that divided the beach from the city.  The overhead palm trees provided occasion cover.  I relaxed, breathing in the briny sea air.

“My children, when the Throne of God is ours, Earth, our fallen brethren shall walk the earth freely.  Such a beautiful place, is it not?” I inquired of them.

“Indeed, my lord,” replied Ishizu, her head lowered out of respect.  “But first we must slay archangel Michael before he awakens.  We must find his incarnation as soon as possible, lord!” she insisted urgently.

“I already know who archangel Raphael and Uriel are, my lord,” added Rishido calmly, a few short paces behind me.  “They were among that crowd nearby with Zadkiel before.  And I can tell by the amount of Light in their auras, they’ve awakened.”

“Ah, just lovely.  But why the hell is Zadkiel with them!?” I hissed under my breath.  “If Michael’s incarnation isn’t found soon, our plans may be thwarted!”

As soon as Michael dies, God’s Throne will be mine and Heaven shall cower before me once again!

*          *            * Zadkiel’s POV

Back at Yuugi’s house, the image of the red hair man haunted the recesses of my mind.  I closed my eyes, drifting into the myriads of my memory.  A cosmic battle struck long ago, that tore the Heavens asunder.  In it two thirds of the Heavenly Host rebelled in strife never to be forgotten.  A particular seraphim, now a fallen angel, led that rebellion.  His image, etched forever in my memory, like that of the red hair man, strikes me deep in fear.

“Zadkiel-san, Zadkiel-san,” repeated a soft, boyish voice.

I yawned tiredly, gazing at Yuugi through half opened lids on his bed.  “Yes?”

“As Uriel’s incarnation, I ask you, are you okay?” Yuugi whimpered, lying down beside me.

I smiled slightly, resting a hand on him.  “Uriel, my heavenly brother, the winds of change stir.  What I thought might be a simple mission of fulfilling your wish, and your counterpart’s, Yugi, may be more complicated than I thought.”

Yuugi frowned, shifting his position closer.  “What do you mean, Zadkiel-san?  My Jou-kun is almost cured.  Then Yami-san can use my body, and Yugi-san’s wish is fulfilled.  After that, Yami-san and Yugi-san return to their world, right?”

I sighed deeply, my voice grave with concern.  “Dear Uriel, I thought just as you did, until now.  Back at the beach, I sighted an uncanny figure.”

“That red hair man!” exclaimed Yuugi, abruptly sitting up.  “You’re worried about him, aren’t you, Zadkiel-san?”

“Yes, that is the source of my worries, Uriel dear.  He reminds me of someone who caused the deaths of so many angel kin long ago…” I reflected.

“S-samael!” shrieked Yuugi in terror.  Yuugi grasped me violently.  “He…he’s incarnated here hasn’t he!?  We’re all going to die!”

The red hair one, his hair blows in the wind like the flames of Hell.  Deep in his pupils, I see bottomless holes of suffering that can never find peace.  In the suffering, that darkness of no light, I hear the cries of the angels he has killed.  Who is it?  Samael.  He is here along with his fallen ones.

*          *            * Yuugi’s POV

Today was Monday morning.  The new fall semester at Domino High will begin.  I need to wake my Jou-kun up, so we can walk to school today.  Luckily for me, he slept over.

In my bedroom, I sprang out of bed, skipping downstairs!  I rushed into the living room, stripping the covers off my Jou-kun who crashed on the couch.

“Jou-kun, koi, wake up, its time to leave for school.” I shook him.

Jounouchi yawned sleepily, glancing up at me through half an open eye.  “Already, Yuug?”  A lively sparkle played in his eye.  The apples of his cheeks glowed a healthy red, like they did before he drank.

I knelt over and kissed him.  “It’s been a week since you’re sober, Jou-kun.”

“Because your love has given me the strength to pull through,” Jounouchi admitted, sitting up now.  Before you helped me, I had no reason to live.  My dad committed suicide two weeks ago, life sucked.”  His eyes rimmed with tears.

“I know Jou-kun, I know.”  I reassured him gently, encircling him in my arms.  “Our love will keep you sober.  And let’s not forget our friends, Zadkiel-san, Yugi-san, and Yami-san.  Jou-kun, I’ll never stop loving you as long as I live!”

“Oh Yuug, that means everything to me.  Your love…is all…that keeps me going.”  My koi collapsed in my grasp.

 *         *            * Yugi’s POV

“They’ve really grown close, haven’t they, Aibou?” Yami’s thoughts echoed to me softly through our soul rooms.

“They have, koi,” I replied mentally, watching Yuugi embrace Jounouchi from my view in the kitchen.  “Soon, when Jounouchi stabilizes, we’ll ask him if you can borrow Yuugi’s body…”

“And I’ll show you, Aibou, the pleasures of love.  A night in the flesh with you is all I ask for.  Then our hearts prayer can be fulfilled.  Your counterpart, Yuugi will have his prayer answered too, now that his Jounouchi-kun has improved.  Once our prayer is fully answered, we can return to our world,” Yami communicated in our thoughts.

Suddenly, Zadkiel drifted himself into the kitchen, from the backyard where he meditated before.  His hung his head over, his expression unusually grave.  “I’m afraid it won’t be so easy, my friends,” he murmured, speaking as if his soul were lost in the darkness.  “God’s enemies may be close by, do warn Yuugi and Jounouchi to be careful at school today.”  The violet angel of prayer said nothing more, retreating somberly from the kitchen.
