Seto grunted and threw the blonde off before ducking a punch, grabbing Jou's wrist and twisting his arm behind his back before he could lash out again. "I hate to admit this but I need your help," he rasped into the blonde's ear. Seto hissed in pain when Jou kicked hard at the back of his knee, causing him to stumble to the floor. Jou yelped as he was pulled down with him, and the two proceeded to wrestle on the ground like two children squabbling over a toy. After a few minutes of struggling there was sharp thump, followed by a pained groan.

"That… was a cheap shot…" Jou hissed, clutching his crotch. Seto picked himself up from the floor and slumped in an armchair, fingering his cut lip and frowning at the wrinkled condition of his suit. Jou, still in severe pain, slowly stood as well. Glaring at the brunette he stumbled to the bed and flopped down.

"Would you mind hearing me out before biting my head off?" Seto snapped impatiently. "I've got a proposition for you."

"Not interested." Jou snapped back.

"You haven't even heard it yet!"

"Don't have to. If it's got anything to do with you then I'm not interested."

"Just hear me out, alright?" Seto growled, sounding almost desperate.
Jou blinked as Seto closed his eyes and rubbed his temples. "Please?"

"Fine. You've got five minutes to talk before I go find your kitchen, grab a spoon, and castrate you with it." the blonde hissed. Seto smirked grimly at the threat, picking up the book he had dropped on the floor and pocketing it. Jou eyed him suspiciously.

"As I said before I need your help. There are these three items that are of great importance of me or, to be more precise, to my purpose."
He got up and beckoned for Jou to follow him, glaring when the blonde- who looked like a kicked and abused puppy dog- didn't move. "I'm not going to beat you up, alright?" Jou sighed and got up to follow him. They entered a fairly large library. Polished mahogany shelves lined the walls, and the floor and desk were scattered with scrolls and books. In the centre of the room stood a large tablet; very similar to the one that Jou had been investigating when he had been so rudely interrupted. The blonde stared incredulously at Seto, never figuring the brunette to be this… disorganized. Jou picked up a random scroll and glanced at the hieroglyphs, easily reading the text as if it was his home tongue. Placing the scroll back on the desk he noticed a picture amidst the clutter. The photo was of Seto and a small boy with long black hair and grey eyes. Both boys were smiling. "My brother…" Seto answered the blonde's silent question as he picked up the picture. "His name's-"

"Mokuba" Jou said. Seto's head jerked from the photo to the blonde in surprise. "You said his name back when you were in the hospital."

"He's the reason why I was at that place." Jou picked up the photo and stared at the boy, who couldn't have been more than eleven years old. "He's been missing for about two months now. A week after his disappearance I received a letter from his kidnapper." He passed Jou the letter, allowing him time to read it briefly before leading him toward the large stone in the middle of the office. "Soon after I received the letter this tablet was delivered to my mansion. The letter that accompanied it stated that there were some artefacts that the kidnapper wanted me to get for him and that the clues were in this tablet. For some reason the man couldn't decipher the text on it but he knew that I have the resources to do so. At first things were pretty easy. I managed to decipher the first half of the tablet. It mentions that there are three artefacts and then proceeds with their descriptions, which I have written down. It's the second half that's got everyone stumped. Over this past month I've been reading and searching to find some inclination of their whereabouts. Local legends… myths… the latest discoveries on excavation digs… nothing came ~close~ to giving me a clue as to what I was searching for until
I came across this." Seto pulled the tattered book from his pocket. "I found it amongst the rubble in a clear out when my father Gozaboro pulled out the funding of some archaeological research project last year at your university."

"That's my journal…" Jou whispered, recognizing the leather brown covering and the crude etching of K.J. on the upper right corner. Seto let a smile form on his lips, his eyes alight with anticipation.
He smirked and passed the book to the blonde who began flicking through it.

"I don't know what possessed me to save it back then but I'm glad I did; it gave me the first clue as to the whereabouts of the artefacts
I need: the statue of Anguis (1), the key of Benu (2) and the dagger of Myvatan (3)"

"So you got your lackeys to kidnap me to help you find them," Jou growled in disgust. Obviously the last adventure had been too much for the rich boy to handle.

"In a sense; especially since this journal has reached the limit of its usefulness." Seto replied coolly.

"What do you mean `reached the limit of its usefulness'? This journal has all you need to know in order to translate the tablet," Jou seethed, snatching the book from the brunette's hand.
"It led us ~both~ into a death trap with that tribe and we gained ~nothing~ from our last venture."

"What about that?" Jou gesticulated towards the garnet stone that sat like a paperweight on the piles of scrolls on Seto's desk.

"That doesn't even remotely resemble what we're searching for and
I've meticulously analysed your translations. They're as obscure about this as all of the ~other~ translations I've seen." Seto flicked through Jou's journal to the right page and then the gestured towards the matching part of the texts in the tablet as he read from the book: "A figure of metal of the noble servant of the gods, dwelling in the land in worship of perpetual darkness and born from the eyes of evil." Jou scoffed.

"Don't you read your Bible? Who tempted Eve with the apple? Even with the ~other~ interpretation of the text that I documented it's pretty obvious," Jou picked up the large orb and Seto blinked.

"Other… interpretation?"

"Yeah: that evil was born from the eyes of nobility. Think about where I retrieved the stone from and remember that the Orosini revere
Lýgion as the cunning noble with eyes that consume and obliterate evil. In other words, take the stone and…" Without warning Jou smashed the large garnet against the desk and, to Seto's surprise, it shattered. Seto smirked as the blonde pushed the bits of rock aside; there amongst the rubble sat a small statuette of a dragon that exactly matched Jou's illustration. "Dragons can be interpreted as either good or evil depending on which side of the hemisphere you live in. Eastern cultures such as the Chinese have always regarded the dragon as symbols of justice whilst western cultures such as the
Orosini have seen them as malevolent beasts." Jou saw the glint in the brunette's eyes and then smiled. "But I guess from the way you're smiling like that you already know… you're just testing me."

"And I guess that ~you~ already knew that I would be looking for you… from that talk in the hospital." Seto retorted. "So are you going to help me find my brother?" Jou was impressed. The young brunette did his homework; challenging Jou was one of the ~few~ ways of getting help from him. Of course the fact that a child was involved was really all the incentive the blonde needed, however the brunette proved to have a certain quality that he liked and admired: Spunk.
Jou stood up and strolled out of the room. "Well?"

"Well what?" The blonde continued to move towards exit.

"Where are you going?"

"Home…" Seto glared at the blonde and grabbed him, pinning him against the wall.

"What about Mokuba?" Jou cocked his head and raised an eyebrow.

"You don't honestly want me to go rescue your kid brother dressed like this do you?" he asked the brunette incredulously. "Where are you supposed to meet them when you've got all three items?"

"Egypt…"

"Hmm… alright then; go ahead and make the travel arrangements."

"We haven't got all the items yet."

"Yes we do," the blonde replied before strolling out of the mansion, only to stop abruptly at the sight of three people struggling against half a dozen guards.

"Unhand me you hooligans!!!" screeched a voice. Jou sniggered at the fact that it took so many strong bodyguards to hold down two old men a `kid'. Yugi, finally catching sight of the blonde, gasped as tears welled up in his eyes.

"JOU!!!" he shouted. With a sudden burst of energy he made his way to his friend, managing to knock three of the six guards to the floor despite his small stature. "Oh thank Kami you're all right… when Grandpa and I heard what happened at the university… you're not hurt right?" Yugi checked Jou over as he spoke, lifting his shirt to check for bruises and searching his face, chin, and head for signs of bleeding.

"Um… ~I'm~ fine Yugi, but I don't think that the poor guy with your grandpa is." Jou sniggered as the old man that was Yugi's grandfather continued to beat at the guard with his walking stick. Mr. Motou was a short, stout man of seventy with a bushy beard that rivalled that of Santa Claus' and an energy level rivalled that of his grandson's. Deciding that the bodyguards had been bruised enough Jou went to intervene.

“Katsuya!!!" the two old men crowed as they hugged him. Both men regarded Jou as a saint who always came home from his `expeditions' with something major and different for them to analyse- unlike their *own* excavations which, to them, were quite boring. The blonde was also the voice of reason for the two archaeologists whenever they had conflicting theories about the finds. Although Arthur and Solomon were firm friends their arguments could get quite nasty.

"Jounouchi…" Jou turned to the brunette who was leaning against the door. He cocked his head and smirked in amusement as Seto tried to form the words `thank you' on his lips. "The plane will be ready in three days… You have that time to do what you have to do before we leave for Egypt."

"Egypt? Oh great! When are we going? I always wanted to see the
Pyramid of Giza," Yugi squealed excitedly. He immediately began to pack his bags whilst Jou pushed under his bed, pulling at a loose floorboard to reveal a small hole. The blonde searched through the dust and pulled out a box. Opening it, he pulled out a large dagger, its black hilt encrusted with ruby jewels. What was ~unique~ about the dagger was that the blade was as red as freshly drawn blood.

"You're… you're taking that?" Yugi asked upon seeing the weapon. "The dagger of Myvatan?"

"Yep…" Jou replied as he packed it into the suitcase.

"That things deadly. Your grandfather said it nearly killed him when he found it in Tibet." Yugi reminded him. Jou smiled at his small friend. "Don't you think it's dangerous to give up the `family heirloom'? Especially one that can blind people just by touching it?" the smaller teen continued, looking over the blonde's shoulder nervously at the red blade glinting up at him. "I mean… this next expedition could ~kill~ you!"

"Yep…" Jou replied again. "But then ~all~ of my expeditions have nearly killed me Yug."

"Well… I suppose… but that dagger gives me the creeps. Remember the
Tibetan folktales about Ama the warlord?"

"Yes," Jou sighed. "Of ~course~ I remember the notorious mass murderer that spilled the blood of so many that the blade he slew them with changed to the permanent shade of blood." Yugi gestured toward the dagger.

"And that's the proof of that story."

"Well I have ~another~ side to the story of this dagger; ~especially~ since its existence predates the stories of Ama the Warlord in
Tibet," Jou replied. "It's an Egyptian Ceremonial dagger… quite impractical compared to the Tibetan Princess daggers that Ama could have used. No, I think this blade was ~already~ red when Ama came into possession of it. I think this dagger belonged to someone in
Egypt and obviously said person didn't want anyone to find it for it might lead them somewhere like…" the blonde paused deliberately, seeing if his friend could come up with the answer.

"The tomb of Septheres!" Yugi replied triumphantly. "Septheres was that priest that killed himself to prevent some kind of magical revolt against Pharaoh Amenemhet I. So if that's the case the dagger of Myvatan could have belonged to him" Jou patted Yugi on the head.

"That's right my puny friend… that's right," he said, making Yugi flush with anger. Seeing the furious expression on his friend's face,
Jou quickly bolted from the room.

"KATSUYA JOUNOUCHI I AM NOT PUNY!!!"

Seto frowned at the blonde disapprovingly. Jou had shown up wearing the same attire he'd had on the first time they'd met and, while the brunette didn't mind ~most~ of the outfit, he ~definitely~ resented the felt hat on Jou's head. They were on the train heading toward
Egypt and the blonde was currently slouched in his seat, the ridiculous hat covering his face.]Curiously Seto tipped the hat up to find Jou fast asleep; unkempt blonde fringe splayed against his eyes and lips parted slightly as if begging to be kissed. He then glanced over to their other companion who was sleeping in the seat opposite him. Because of his small stature Yugi curled into the fairly narrow seat quite snugly when he dozed. Seto turned his attention towards the view outside. The golden landscape was broken up by the river
Nile whilst a setting sun bathed the sky in pinkish red. It would have been a wonderful place to relax if he wasn't so worried for
Mokuba. When they finally reached the main city of Cairo Seto ~knew~ that they would be expected.

"We welcome you, Kaiba Seto, to Cairo. We shall travel by horse towards the palace of Chisisi (4) for the exchange. You have the items, yes?"

Seto nodded as the three of them mounted their horses to follow the strange men, they're pace changing from a trot to a canter as they crossed the strip of desert.
