"It's good to have someone to hang out with," Yugi bit into his hamburger hungrily, "with Yami not being around and all…"
"Huh?" Ryou looked up from his salad, "did Yami go off somewhere? He rarely does that; he's like your shadow!"
His smaller friend nodded, "That's what I thought was so odd, but he said he was going to do something with Kaiba…"
Ryou choked, "W-what? Those two? You sure they won't eat each other alive?"
"I don't know…" Yugi giggled at the thought of the CEO chomping down upon his yami's wild hair and not letting go, "but from what Yami said, they were getting along, at least getting along with whatever they are doing."
"I see…"
Bakura awoke to being cold, miserable and wet. Indeed he felt slightly cleaner; someone must have bathed him. However, he was certainly not pleased with his situation; no longer was he strapped to a table but back in his old "home": the cage.
"Hmph…he even has the bloody leash, what sweet memories they bring back," he said sarcastically as he tugged the more or less exact replica of the leash he was committed to so many years ago. At least for the moment he is being left alone…was Ryou worried about him? Has Malik begun to see connections? Right now the Egyptian's the only one who would suspect anything knowing his past, but will be betray him and tell the others. At the moment, Bakura really wished that Malik would just squeal already…it would certainly save him some pain. It's not like he was much pride left anyhow, he just threw it out the window. He no longer had the Ring around his neck since he left that one night in such a hurry. How long ago what that night anyways? Days? Weeks? Months?
"Damnit Malik just tell them already…" there had to be a way…he may have a material form and all, but in the end, he was still an ancient spirit. There MUST be a way to transmit his thoughts to the other boy. There has to be…
"Look Bakura! This magazine talks about how if you can control your dreams, sometimes you can enter the dreams of another person and you can tell them things!"
"Like possession, Ryou?"
"Uh hmm!"
"That's complete rubbish. Dreams are so complex there's absolutely no way you can do that!"
"But…"
"Come on, I'll show you your dreams though!"
"I- hey!!! Mmmm…"
The memory wrenched his heart, but information it did contain, "Look at me…believing in rubbish…" Bakura said bitterly to himself, wondering if he was beginning to completely and utterly lose his mind in this dreary place.
"Seems like you're awake bitch."
Bakura glared up into the face of the High Priest and Pharaoh. Dreaming will have to wait…
"Marik for Ra's sake! That's your millionth drink!"
"I…huh? I….huh? Hic!....Hic!"
"Arrrgggh!!!" Malik wrenched the large vodka bottle out of his yami's grasp and trashed it. "You're going to kill yourself!"
"I…uhhh…die…not…I…hic… ;spirit…"
"Doesn't stop you from becoming an idiotic blubbering fool! Now I know why I stopped drinking (excessively)!" the hikari pulled his yami off the couch, only succeeding in having the other fall heavily upon the ground with a dull thud, "You're going to puke all over the carpet! And I just cleaned it Ra-damnit! You….aren't…going to dirty my house anymore!" Groaning under the weight, Malik heaved the broader teen around his shoulders and dragged him up the stairs, "You're going in here and don't even think of coming down until I know you're sober!"
"I…hic…huh? OW!" Marik cursed as he was dunked into a cold bath, "RA BE DAMNED!!!"
"I thought so!" Malik slammed the bathroom door.
Marik bobbed face down in the water for awhile before turning around, "Ok…I'm sober I'm sober…" it was always odd how the yami managed to sober up at such incredible speeds…maybe it's because he doesn't really have a human body to begin with…
Malik has become more and more moody the past few days, especially after seeing Bakura. He was certain by now that Bakura had completely confided his past with his hikari; that he was happy for that his friend got some weight off his back, but now he's pissed that Malik's been in such a bad mood afterwards and refused to tell him anything. It didn't help that Malik secured his mind carefully so that the wild haired yami couldn't snoop around.
"Damnit…" he drained the water from the tub, chilled to the bone, "Alright Bakura, what in Ra's name have you infused into my hikari's head?! What til I get my hands on you…"
He stomped out of the bathroom and down the stairs, still feeling a little woozy and falling flat on his face as he reached the bottom step. He was about to rage to his hikari when he realized the boy was on the phone, with not a happy look upon his face.
"I see…well he hasn't been around, but I will tell you should he show up. No problem Ryou, no problem at all. I'll drop by later…bye."
Anger dissipated from the wild haired Egyptian in a nanosecond and curiosity replaced it, "Huh?"
"New record," Malik said without turning, "Four minutes and twenty-three seconds."
"I have no clue how you manage to keep time like that without a watch."
"I'm strange…"
"…but I'm stranger," Marik finished.
"Exactly."
"So what happened?"
Malik sighed, staring at the phone as if it will blow like a bomb any minute, "Bakura ran off last night."
"Huh?" Marik picked himself off the ground and made his way over to his hikari, slumping on the other's back.
"You're wet…" Malik commented offhandedly before continuing, "Ryou and Bakura had a fight…and…stuff happened…apparently Bakura hasn't returned yet either."
"Wow…" Marik whined a bit when the other tanned boy pushed him off and onto the sofa, "they never get into a fight; but then, Bakura has never confided his past to anyone before. Isn't it weird? A few days after you guys talked you've been in a WONDERFUL mood and Bakura freaks out on Ryou."
"Yes…I have been a bit moody haven't I?"
"Yes and you won't tell me a Ra-damned thing. Believe it or not Malik, I'm psycho but I have feelings too and you're my hikari Ra-damnit!"
Malik sighed in defeat and collapsed on top of his yami, earning an 'oof' from his other, "I'm sorry…I've been…occupied with my own thoughts and I guess I still need to open myself up to you more…it's hard; please don't be offended."
"No offense taken, I wasn't the best other half you've had in the past. I'm trying," Marik tucked his hikari into a better position, enjoying the moment, knowing he'll probably never have something like this happen again.
"You know I can't tell you about Bakura's past…but I'll tell you one thing…it's awful…and it haunts me day and night. At times I wished that he had never told me at all…"
"That bad?" Marik rubbed his hikari's back. What could be THAT traumatizing?
"It doesn't help either that I know all my hopes to ever be with Bakura are shot. He loves Ryou like there is no tomorrow. I'm hating myself for even thinking that I had a chance with him and taking him away from Ryou like that. Ryou is so kind to me and all I think about taking Bakura away from him, knowing that it will hurt Ryou. Am I that terrible of a person?"
"You are not terrible Malik and you know that."
"I just…I don't know…I don't know!" with that Malik broke down, startling his yami.
Marik sat there dumbfounded; he didn't really know what to do at all. Malik get moody and could go form extreme happiness to freaking out on him, but he rarely ever breaks down, and he's not the one to usually witness it either. "Ummm…don't cry," he wrapped his around the smaller Egyptian boy, "don't cry…"
"I'm sorry!" Malik blubbered, "I just had no one to talk to and I feel terrible and it feels like there's no one there who will listen to me at all!"
"I'm here…" Marik offered awkwardly, "and I'm not about to go anywhere either. I'm stuck with you remember?"
Malik made a sound between being strangled and laughing, "You must always make me laugh in the middle of a good cry don't you?" He flung his arms around his yami's neck, "you're wonderful!"
"Err…" the wild haired teen had eyes the size of violet saucers, which would appear disturbing since they were always half narrowed with an arrogant look, "thanks…"
"You are the absolute extremist!" Malik blubbered on, though it sounded like his was happy but crying his brains out at the same time, "the evilest a person can be and then being the wittiest and kindest person ever! What in the name of Ra!"
Marik couldn't tell if that was a question or a statement, but took it as a compliment.
A few minutes followed before Malik quieted down completely, "Let's go to bed…"
"Let's…you definitely could use some rest…"
"It's only 5…"
"I wouldn't know…I wouldn't care…"
"I have to see Ryou later…"
"I'll wake you up…"
"You don't wake up…"
"I will now."
"Heh…"
"Fuck…this hurts…ahhh…"
"H-huh?"
"Wow, shit this works…still hurt like hell though…"
"Where are you? Who-"
"You can't even recognize my voice? Some best friend you are Malik…"
"Who- you know my name! Where?"
"I have no fucking clue…look around."
"I don't se- B-Bakura?"
"Right right, so now you see me. Alright, this works…listen I don't have that much time left cause the fucking Pharaoh and his bitch will be back soon…"
"What?"
"Just shut your trap and listen! To make this story short, those two bastards caught me the night I left Ryou, heard of that day?"
"Yes."
"I'm in some secluded place right now getting ass fucked and it hurts…and I want to go home."
"Bakura…"
"Find me soon, and I think…it's time to tell everyone…"
"Pssst…Malik, hey babe, wake up"
"Mrmmmm…."
"Malik, you said you'd see Ryou. It's almost 7 o'clock."
"Hmmm? Alright Marik…just…" Malik squirmed around, his eyes still shut and his brain half in dream mode.
"Malik!"
Malik's eyes opened, and everything he sought to remember slipped away.

Author: I'm so mean!
Bakura: TT_TT Yes you are…
Author: I just HAD to do that. Do you readers ever have that feeling? You dream away and when you wake up, not remember a thing? You might vaguely recall you dreamed but you retain nothing? You know, the reason why it does that is cause at night when you sleep, a chemical in your brain comes and erases everything and that's why you feel so fresh in the morning. Thus your dreams usually also get erased. That's why it's also a bad idea to cram for tests in the morning cause there's a good chance your brain is still erasing away. So you guys just learned something new today and remember to study for tests early!
Bakura: You don't practice what you preach.
Author: ><:;;; I do it the NIGHT before! - Anyways, I love you all for reading! Please review!
