Learning the Truth
"So Erika, What are you doing today?" asked Yugi when he and Erika were upstairs in the room they now shared.
"I really wasn't planning anything to tell you the truth," sighed Erika. She hated the fact that the only people she knew besides Yugi and Grandpa, was Seto and Mokuba. "I was hoping that I could go to the museum today."
"Great but I'm not going to be the one taking you. I have a friend that wants to take you. He and I were talking about it last night," explained Yugi.
"Really? Who?" Erika wanted to make more friends.
"I'm only going to tell you if you promise not to laugh," said Yugi in a low voice.
Erika nodded for her promise.
"Okay. The person who wants to take you is the sprit of the Millenium Puzzle, King Yami. He's the one that saved the world 12 years ago as well as 5 thousand years ago."
"Really?" asked Erika in amazement. "Cool. I have to meet him."
"Great now the person that you may speak to next isn't really me, Yami is more like a counter part," retorted Yugi. Erika was about to say something else but Yugi didn't hear as Yami, or the Pharaoh, was going to take Yugi's place.
"Hello Erika," came Yami's deep, sexy voice. "Yugi has told me a lot about you, ever since he heard that you would becoming to live with him."
"Well, the only thing that I really know about you was that you were once an ancient pharaoh who saved the world 5 thousand years ago, but I learned that when I was living in Egypt," replied Erika.
She loved this, Yami was sexy, tall, lean, handsome, hot, basically everything Erika thought Seto was. However, the only person she wanted to be with today was Yami. "Shall we get going? You might want to meet Ishizu. She is a bit crazy but you'll like her and her brother Marik," said Yami as he gave his arm to Erika. "We shall," she smiled as she took hold of her escort. The two went of in silence. They left the game shop and went out into the streets. Yami was hoping to run into some of his friends because he wasn't sure he wanted to be alone with Erika. Well not yet anyway. He wanted to get to know her but was afraid to because he felt like he already knew her but from were? This girl is so different. I feel like I know here from somewhere but where? Erika looks familiar and her touch is so familiar thought the pharaoh.
"So Seto where were you last night?" asked Mokuba while he and his brother were eating their breakfast.
Seto put down his glass. He knew Erika wouldn't tell but would he. He then took a deep breath, "Mokuba I'll tell you but you can't tell anyone, especially Yugi."
"I promise. Come on Seto you can trust me," replied Mokuba.
"Okay. Last night after Erika and I were in the air for about an hour, she fell asleep on me. So I put my arm around her and decided that she should see the sunrise as a welcome back gift. That's why I called you. Anyway so I went to Kabia Island and basically we watched the sunrise. And then I dropped her off at her place. That's about it. Except.
"At one point Erika was cold so I put my vest around her and she forgot she had it so I had to go get from her. And well.she walked me back to my chopper and Erika kissed me on the cheek." Seto's face flushed. He was so red that even making fun of Joey wouldn't help him.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA," laughed Mokuba. "I knew it. I knew it. I knew you loved Erika. I saw it when she moved. This is great I have to tell her."
"NO! Mokuba, she must not know, well at least not yet," said Seto.
"Why not? Come on she probably feels the same way if she kissed you," retorted Mokuba.
Mokuba had a point, but Seto was not going to admit it. He wasn't even sure if it was a real kiss or just a good-luck-be-safe kiss. He wanted to know but he had better things to do today. Seto did promise to spend the day with Mokuba.
"Well, here we are, The Domino City Museum," said Yami after a few hours.
"Wow! What a beautiful building," said Erika in awe.
"Wait till you get inside and see the Egyptian Exhibit," smiled Yami.
In an unusual silence, Yami and Erika walk in to the building. Since Erika is basically lost, Yami directs her to the Egyptian Exhibit. Together they look at the artifacts found and the ancient writings. They were having a great time when, Yami remembered why they were here and leads Erika to a restricted section. He knows Ishizu and Marik are there, they barely leave that section.
"My Pharaoh it is an honor to see you again," came a soft voice.
"Hello Ishizu. Long time no see," smiles Yami.
"Yes it is my king," came another voice.
"Marik," said Yami. He loved being back in the museum. "Where is Odeon and Shadi?"
"King Yami, they went out for they day but I don't know why. So what brings you here?" asks a curious Ishizu. Even though she had the Millenium Necklace it wasn't always truthful as Ishizu learned during Seto's tournament.
"My good friend, Erika Motto. Yugi's sister," replied Yami.
"Ishizu, it's the que-ow what was that for?" asked Marik. He wanted to say one thing but Ishizu had to stop him.
"Not now my brother. We don't even know what her destiny is. And my Millenium Necklace won't let me see," whispered Ishizu.
"Yes but she has a right to know the truth," argued Marik.
Ishizu knew that Marik was right. She didn't argue. She didn't lie. She didn't do anything but look at her brother. "Alright," Ishizu finally said in defeat. "I'll tell her."
"Erika, Pharaoh please follow me." Erika and Yami followed Ishizu with Marik bringing up the rear. "As you may already know, the ancient past of many of your friends came from Egypt. However, Erika, your past plays a much bigger part."
"The only problem is that Ishizu and I don't know how big of a part. According some other Ancient Scriptures that I found the Pharaoh's Queen was the keeper of the Millenium Necklace and for told that the one thing that almost destroyed the world would happen again. If it had not been for her Yami's sprit would not have been able to bring me back from my evil ways and save the world again," explained Marik.
"On the tablet there is a picture of the Queen with the Pharaoh. I also found another scripture of a young woman who was the only one that could control the sorcerer, you know him better as Seto Kabia," Ishizu stopped walking.
"There is also a story about me," piped in Marik.
"It was said that in ancient times, Marik was once the pharaoh of the Southern parts of Egypt. He had many servants, advisors, and escorts. However, he had an escort who was a beautiful young girl. Marik was not suppose to fall in love a servant, he was only to marry and love an aristocrat or a princess. The thing is Marik was in love with his escort so he rewrote the laws so he could marry her. When Marik did this the escort was in a terrible state. She barely knew who she was or where she belonged. All she had was a necklace given to her by the Pharaoh of the North. However, we don't know what happened next as time has warn away the writings," explained Ishizu. She begins walking again. The group soon walks to a long black velvet curtain on the wall.
"We don't know when some of these things took place but we do know is that they all have pictures of the girl and Erika, they all look like you," said Marik.
"And while Marik, Odeon, Shadi, and I went to Egypt on our vacation, we found one more tablet," Ishizu turned her back to Erika. "it is written in a very ancient form of Egyptian writing that Marik, Odeon, Shadi, or I have been able to translate. However, we all agreed that it was written when Egypt first came to power." Ishizu returns to look strait into the eyes of Erika and Yami. "Now face you eyes on the moment of truth." Ishizu pulls on the curtain's rope to reveal the contents of four stone tablets.
As the curtain is pulled away, Erika and Yami see the carved pictures. The first on is a picture of Erika and Marik together. The next is a picture of Erika and Yami. The third one is a picture of Seto and Erika. The last tablet was at the bottom. Erika and Yami saw an ancient carved picture of Erika standing alone with lights coming from her. It was as though she was a goddess but still human.
Erika was in shock. After seeing these tablets she was even more confused. Yami was very surprised. If he could he would laugh but the carving of him and Erika made Yami think.
"Erika there is one major mystery to this all still," came Ishizu's voice from nowhere. "What does all this mean? What is your destiny? And where does the origins of your past seem to come from?"
It was more that what Erika could handle. With one final look at the tablets, she ran out of the room. She ran out of the exhibit. She ran out of the museum. Erika was now afraid to face her past.
"Ishizu, give us a call if you learn anything about Erika's past. As you can see she's afraid out it. We need to know what is going to happen," and without another word, Yami chased after Erika. Hopefully he could find a way to cheer her up.
"Ishizu, what does all this mean? Erika couldn't have been in three places at one because as you and I both can see these three tablets probably all came out around the same time," pointed out Marik. He was standing looking at the tablets the entire time.
"Oh my brother, I do not know. And what scares me the most is that we might not find out Erika's destiny and that we may never learn about her pat," said Ishizu. She stood next to her brother in agreement. "Yes and I'm afraid to say that you, Kabia, and Yami will have to work together to help find Erika's past."
"But Ishizu Kabia does not believe in his ancient past," replied Marik.
"Perhaps we should get his brother, Mokuba to talk sense into Kabia. And if worst comes to worst, we will invade Kabia's dreams and memories," Ishizu looked at her brother and knew that they had no other choice.

(A/N) Okay guys, I know that it hasn't been that Rated R type yet but its getting there, starting in the next chapter. Trust me you're going to love this story. Sorry but I had to go back to ancient Egypt because remember Yami still knows very little of his past. Besides he plays a bigger part than you think.
