THE COLD SHOULDER
The gang could tell that Erika was deeply upset about Kaiba. They didn't want to say a word to her about Kaiba. Actually, weeks went by and Erika hadn't seen or heard from Kaiba, since their fight. She was angry and holding a huge grudge. Luckily, one day the gang went out and Erika stayed in with Grandpa to help with the game shop.
"I'm really worried about Erika," said Joey as he and the gang walked to a near by pizza place.
"I'm more worried about Kaiba," said Yugi.
"KAIBA?!" hollered Joey.
"Why are you worried about him?" Tea asked in surprise.
"Guys, Kaiba needs Erika badly. He need her in his life. Without Erika, Kaiba is just the average cold hearted man," said Yugi.
"He also doesn't want to admit his feelings for her because he never felt like this before. Kaiba has never been in love and doesn't know what to do and how to treat the girl he wants to spend the rest of his life with," Yami added.
"But Kaiba deserves it. He doesn't deserve a babe like Erika," said Duke.
"Yeah and neither do you," came a voice. It was Mokuba. Luckily Kaiba wasn't around.
"Mokuba, what are you doing hear?" Duke was beginning to sweat.
"An even better question, what are you doing talking bad about my brother?" stated Mokuba.
"It started when I said I was worried about Erika," said Joey.
"Then I said that I was more worried about Kaiba," said Yugi.
Mokuba looked a bit relived. He then sighed. "You're not the only one worried about him and Erika. Seto hasn't been the same since that fight he and Erika had. Believe me, Seto loves Erika he really does. It's just that."
"He doesn't want to admit that he's in love out loud," Mai finished.
"How long has he loved her Mokuba?" asked Serenity.
"Since, before she left me all those years ago. I sure was only 16 she was 15," came a cold voice. It was the great Seto Kaiba, CEO if Kaiba Corp.
"Seto, I thought you were working until 8:00 it's only 1:30," said Mokuba.
"I needed a break," Kaiba made it short and to the point.
"Oh wow! The great Seto Kaiba is taking a break," teased Joey.
Kaiba then gave Joey a cold, icy, murderous look. "I didn't know that this place served little puppy dogs," he provoked.
Joey turned red with anger. "Why I aughta! LET ME AT HIM! LET ME AT HIM!" he yelled. Joey was about to go in for the kill. However, Duke and Tristan held him back.
"So Kaiba, if you do love Erika, why don't you just tell her?" Bakura asked.
"I thought I told you. Kaiba never had feelings like this before so he doesn't know hoe to deal with his emotions," said Yami. The 5000 year old Pharaoh was digging himself into a deep ditch that would be hard to get out of.
Fortunately, Kaiba kept his cool. "That's not completely true. I known how to deal with my emotions, it's just that, I don't know how to tell Erika that I-" Kaiba was cut off as Erika walked into the pizza parlor.
She walked passed the guys and went to the counter. After ordering a medium pizza to go, the Kaiba brothers and the gang walked over.
"Hey Erika," said Mokuba.
"Hey guys. Hey Mokuba," Erika greeted them with a smile. She was smiling until she saw Kaiba. "Kaiba," her voice was as solid and as cold as Kaiba's. Erika grabbed her Pizza and was about to go home. "By the way Yugi," she said over her shoulder, "I'm going to the museum tonight so don't wait up." And with that Erika left.
Kaiba just stood there in shock. He remembered the first kiss he and Erika had. The first real kiss. He thought that she loved him as much as he loved her. But now he was treated the way he treats everyone else. Seto Kaiba got his first taste of the cold shoulder. And by the girl he loved.
"Ouch! That was cold. Even I have to admit this, Kaiba sis not deserve dat," said Joey.
"Agreed," said Tristan.
"Kaiba, I'll talk to her," offered Yugi.
"No Yugi. This is between me an her," said Kaiba,
"And me," added Yami. Everyone looked at him. "Every since Erika and I kissed, I've been involved. Every since Erika and I first saw those ancient tablets about her, I've been involved. Every since that day, three men have been involved. Seto Kaiba, Marik Ishtar, and me."
"Whatever," said Kaiba. "Come Mokuba." The Kaiba brothers left the pizza parlor leaving the gang behind,
"Yugi, I need to talk to you," said Yami, "alone."
Yami dragged Yugi to a back corner of the pizza place.
"Yami, what's up? Are you okay?" Yugi asked in concern.
"No and I have a bad feeling that we are missing something from Erika's past," replied Yami.
"Of course you are right my Pharaoh," a voice said out of nowhere.
Yami smirked. "Very funny Shadi. Stop using the magic of your Millennium Key and explain to us what you mean.
Shadi did as told. "There is an eighth Millennium item, the Millennium Bracelet. It can only be used by women and has powers beyond imagination. It belonged to the girl you know call Erika. But that was long ago. Before the tablets about you and Erika, Erika and Kaiba, and Erika and Marik, "he explained.
"The Last Tablet," Yugi and Yami shouted.
