that held her to the stone. [SACRED STONE OF OUJAH. Magic] Now hovering above her was the Winged Dragon of Ra [5400/3900] which Marik had successfully summoned.

Kaiba could not keep the joy within him. `At last, the Winged Dragon of Ra!' "Mokuba," he whispered into the microphone on his collar, "are you getting this?"

"Sure am, big brother!" came the enthusiastic reply.

Kaiba turned his attention to the dueling arena. `Valentine's got 300 life points left. At last I shall see the power of this mighty creature!'

(Yami) Yugi wrestled with his thoughts. `This is insane! If Mai loses, she not only loses her memories, but her mind as well!' "Kaiba…" he growled. Then he felt it. A chill. `Yugi, I sense an evil presence approaching, unlike Mariks'.'

Marik could not help grinning. At last he could show these fools the power of an Egyptian god. But yet, there was a feeling he could not shake. A feeling of great power. He narrowed his eyes and darted them from left to right. There!

In front of Mai, the stage now had a distorted look to it. In the center, a hood covered head appeared, followed by a body. The head lifted, revealing a pair of yellow eyes.

Yugi watched as a cloaked figure appeared Shadi-style. He narrowed his eyes. `There's the force'

Kaiba gaped at the newcomer who appeared out of nowhere. `How did he get there?' He watched as the figure held up his right arm, revealing a duel disk.

Marik sneered. "Do you want to duel me?"

"It is as you say." The figure pointed at him. "And when I win, I'll take your Millennium Item. And I shall do it with these meager life points."

Marik laughed. "With 300? I'd like to see that!"

"Fine!" He whipped off his hood, revealing a face like Marik's, but lighter hued. His eyes flashed amber yellow. "Let's duel!"

He drew 6 cards. He grinned. "I play the spell card DIAN KETO [Magic card. Increase your life points by 1000 points.]. And another!" His LP increased from 300 to 2300. "Now, I play a monster in defense mode." He put the card down. "Your move."

Marik drew. "Heh. Winged dragon! Attack!" The Winged Dragon of Ra attack by exhaling a beam of energy. The beam hit the card, revealing the Koumori Dragon [Lvl. 4 Dark Dragon. 1500/1200].

Kaiba narrowed his eyes. `Why would he play such a weak monster? Unless…'

"Sir! Should I stop the duel?"

"No. This could prove to be very interesting."

The figure drew. He grinned. "I play another monster in defense mode. And I place one card facedown. Your move."

Yugi peered at the figure. `I can't help but wonder. I feel like I've seen this guy somewhere before.'

Marik had the Egyptian god attack again. The monster was destroyed, revealing the Y-Dragon Head [Lvl. 4 Light Machine/Union. 1500/1600 Once per turn, during your main phase, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to your "X-Head Cannon" as an Equip Spell Card, OR change it back to a monster in face-up Attack Position. When equipped to a monster by this card's effect, that monster's ATK/DEF is increased by 400 points. (1 monster can only be equipped with 1 Union Monster at a time. If the monster that this card is equipped to is destroyed in battle, this card is destroyed instead.)]. He narrowed his eyes. `This fool's up to something. Might as well see what.'

The figure drew. "I play the spell card POT OF GREED [Spell card. Draw 2 cards from your deck.]." He drew, then cackled. "You fool! You have played right into my hands! I shall now summon a creature of the likes you have never seen!" He took two cards out of his graveyard. "I remove Koumori Dragon and Y-Dragon Head from the duel to summon this!" He put a card on the disk. On the field, a shaft of light appeared and lightening crackled around it. Out of the light came a monstrous creature. Steely bluish-green, it towered above them all. Sporting muscled legs and arms, tail and neck, steely wings, and a head that terrified all, of which had long, flowing orange hair, it roared at them all.

"Behold, the Chaos Emperor Dragon-Envoy of the End* [Lvl. 8 Dark Dragon/Effect 3000/2500]!"

Serenity hid her face in Joey's chest. "Joey…"

"My god, it's huge!"

Kaiba's eyes widened. `It's on the same level as my Blue-Eyes!'

Marik recovered. "Although it is magnificent, it is still to weak to be of any concern."

The figure, now known as Draconus, grinned. "Not so. The fool with the Millennium Eye made the gods invulnerable to Spell and Trap cards, but he forgot one thing: They are still vulnerable to monster effects!"

Marik, Yugi, and Kaiba felt a chill go down their spines. He was right.

"As proof, I activate my dragon's special effect! By paying 1000 life points, I send all the cards in our hands and on the field to the card graveyard! But first, I activate my spell card, Vortex of Negativity* [Permanent Spell.]!"

"What does THAT do?"

"I'll tell you. As long as this card remains face-up, I am shielded from card effects that do damage to me! So I keep my cards, while you lose yours. So say goodbye to Ra!"

The Chaos Emperor Dragon threw its head back and exhaled a stream of energy to the sky. The energy came down like meteors, destroying Marik's Winged Dragon.

"No!" He couldn't believe it. His Winged Dragon, gone.

"And now, you lose 300 LP for each card."

Marik's LP dropped from 2900 to 1800. He growled, then drew. He looked at it, then chuckled. "It looks like things are looking up. I activate the magic card Premature Burial* [Equip Spell]! By giving up 800 LP, I can revive a card from my graveyard and equip it to this card. And I choose the Winged Dragon of Ra!" The Winged Dragon reappeared, roaring in defiance.

Draconus chuckled. "You do know you're only delaying the inevitable. Which is why it is time to end this duel." He drew. "Ha ha ha! This duel is over! I summon Lord of Dragons [Lvl. 4 Dark Spellcaster/Effect 1200/1100. All Dragon-type monsters cannot be targeted by Magic Cards, Trap Cards, or other effects that specifically designate a target while this card is face-up.], and next I play these two magic cards, the Flute of Summoning Dragon [Spell. Playing this card when you have a Lord of D. card face-up on the field allows you to play up to 2 Dragon-type cards from your hand as a Special Summon]! Now I summon the Serpent Night Dragon [Lvl. 7 Dark Dragon. 2350/2400], Tyrant Dragon [Lvl. 8 Fire Dragon/Effect. 2900/2500. When there is another monster on your opponent's side of the field after the first attack of your Battle Phase, this monster can attack once again during the same battle phase. In addition, negate the effect of a Trap Card that specifically designates this card as a target and destroy it. If this monster is Special Summoned from the Graveyard, you must offer 1 Dragon-Type monster on your side of the field as a Tribute.], and this card, which is familiar to you all, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon [Lvl. 8 Light Dragon. 3000/2500]!"

Everyone froze, Kaiba most of all. `That's impossible, I possess the only ones in existence!'

Marik growled. "Although you have an amazing array of monsters, they still pale to the might of my Winged Dragon!"

Draconus chuckled. "You don't know who I am, do you? I am Draconus, herald of Dragons! And my Chaos Emperor will wipe your Winged Dragon out! For I play this card, United We Stand* [Equip Spell.]!"

Kaiba twitched. `United We Stand? That card depends on how many mon… Oh no!'

Marik snickered. "You can't use that on Ra! Magic cards only work on the Egyptian gods for one turn. The reason Premature Burial hasn't stopped is because it's like a combination of Monster Reborn and an Equip Spell Card."

"I never said I was going to use it on Ra. I equip it to Chaos Emperor Dragon!" A pair of bands appeared on the arms of the Chaos Emperor Dragon; one red, one blue, each with a small emerald on them. "United We Stand works like so: For each face-up monster I control, the equipped monster's attack and defense rises 800 points for each monster. Since I have five monsters, Chaos Emperor Dragon gets a 4000 point bonus!" Chaos Emperor Dragon's attack rose from 3000 to 7000. "Chaos Emperor Dragon, obliterate the Winged Dragon of Ra!" The Chaos Emperor Dragon opened it's mouth and exhaled a gigantic stream of energy. The beam obliterated the Winged Dragon, the Divine Beast letting out a small wail.

Marik's LP dropped from 1000 to 0. The tombkeeper dropped to his knees, shaking uncontrollably. "Impossible… the Winged Dragon… defeated…"

Kaiba and Yugi were in shock. An Egyptian god Card… defeated.

Draconus approached him. "Now, your Millennium Rod…"

Marik glared at him. "The only thing you'll get from me is a trip to the Shadow Realm!" he said, lifted the Millennium Rod. Draconus threw off his cloak, revealing his muscular upper body. Around his neck was the medallion he wore. He held it forward. The eyes glowed emerald, and Marik was thrown backwards. The force from the medallion was so powerful, it knocked Yami Marik into a limbo, bringing back the original Marik back to the fore.

Draconus picked up the Millennium Rod and smirked. "Five down…"

Kaiba turned to his men. "Turn off the holo-projecters."

"Sir, they are they are off."

"Then why are the dragons still there?"
