Yu-Gi-Oh! Fan Fiction ❯ Let Go ❯ Sk8er Boi ( Chapter 2 )
Title: Let Go
Subtitle: Chapter Two -- Sk8er Boi
Series: YuGiOu
Author: Dark Light Goddess
Warnings: shounen ai, usage of Rex Raptor/Dinosaur Ryuusaki as a character XD
Plot Bunny: Inspired by Lady Yami Bakura's "Gutterflower" and the Avril Lavigne CD "Let Go". It's been five years since Mutou Yuugi left Japan due to ignorance but now he has to come back because of his band's tour. Has anyone missed him at all?
Otogi Muse's Disclaimer: Dark-sama does not own YuGiOu. It belongs to its wonderful creator Kazuki Takahashi and other rich people [no, 4Kids, this doesn't mean you XP]. All the songs off the album "Let Go" belong to Avril Lavigne herself.
Dark's Forward Notes: I ABSOLUTELY HATE ANZU!!! *grabs an Anzu voodoo doll and sticks pins in her private areas* This is in no way a pro-Anzu fic so when you read the part I've written, she's only there because of the words to the song. I am a true yaoi fangirl and as a result, I hate most of the girls of Anime. Anzu included. I don't mind Mai, since I know the ACTUAL Mai Valentine/Kujaku, but Anzu just doesn't do anything for my morals, she doesn't even stick to her own rules of friendship half the time! The girl has to see that friendship is NOT what makes the world go 'round!

//He was a boi, she was a girl
Can I make it anymore obvious?
He was a punk, she did ballet
What more can I say?
He wanted her, she'd never tell, secretly she wanted him as well
But all of her friends stuck up their nose
They had a problem with his baggy clothes//
Otogi stretched as the band got out of the plane, glad to be on solid terra firma. "At last, home sweet home." He said the last part with sarcasm. Yuugi only looked around Domino Airport, noticing the chicken wire fences that separated them and the fans from each other. His eyes scanned the crowd as the group walked by, wincing at the annoyance that was the fangirl. For once, he was glad his mad rushes were only temporary. He heard someone call his name and looked to the left, only to narrow his eyes in anger.
It was him. The one who took his life away along with those other kuso-ttares.
Rex sidled up to the singer-guitarist. "Just ignore them like they did you, Yuug. And anyway, you're a superstar now, you don't need an excuse not to, y'know?"
Yuugi grinned. "Yeah, you're right. Thanks, Rex."
The four band members and their manager got into the limo that was ordered to leave immediately for the hotel they were staying at. Yami's breath had been caught in his throat when he'd seen his changed light up close. Those once pure, innocent amethyst orbs had, momentarily, held anger and hatred. But then again, Yami couldn't really blame him after what had made Yuugi leave in the first place.
"Yuugi......I'm sorry......" His whisper was lost in the shouts of the crowd.
//He was a sk8er boi, she said "See you later, boi"
He wasn't good enough for her
She had a pretty face but her head was up in space
She needed to come back down to earth//

//Five years from now, she sits at home
Feeding the baby, she's all alone
She turns on TV, guess who she sees
Sk8er boi rocking up MTV
She calls up her friends, they already know
And they've all got tickets to see his show
She tags along, stands in the crowd
Looks up at the man that she turned down//
Anzu could hardly believe what she was watching as she fed the child that had come to her on accident. Yuugi......he was a rockstar? It was hard to believe that only five years had passed since she'd heard from the others that he had left Japan. She was beginning to feel sorry she'd turned him down but then again her girl friends had been the ones who told her to stay away from him. He had been a midget then, small and easy to overlook. She got carried away with the feeling of superiority and had never realized how much she'd hurt him until after he left. Yami had verbally and physically abused her, saying she was the reason he left. But she knew they all had a small part to play in the reason. Those innocent amethyst eyes haunted her memory, only now the cold, hard ones that were on her screen replaced them.
"Anzu......I-I was wondering if you'd......y'know, go on a date with me?"
"Sorry, Yuugi, I don't date midgets. Yami's a better person than you, he has everything you don't." She turned, knowing there were tears in those eyes that she didn't want to see. He cried too much, he needed to learn the world wasn't all happy thoughts and roses. And people change.
She set baby Yuugi down onto the blanket that was on the couch and reached over to the phone to dial her friend's number. Yes, she had even felt guilty enough to name her child after him. Call it obsession if you wanted. The phone rang three times before it was picked up. "Hey, Tina, you watching MTV at the moment?"
<"I know! Dark Millenium's in town! Oh, Anzu, I can't believe how stupid you were to turn Yuugi away! He's such a cutie!">
She sighed, closing her eyes and shaking her head. "You're right. I need to apologize to him. I'm going to the concert, are you guys?"
<"Like duh! Why would we miss the chance to see the greatest band in the world?! What're you gonna do about the baby thou?">
"I'll need to get a babysitter, I know. I'll talk to you later, Tina. Can you get my ticket for me?"
<"Sure. Later, Anzu-chan.">
The two hung up and Anzu turned back to her child, picking him up and hugging him to her chest, running a hand through his baby-soft brown hair. "Yuugi," she whispered, a tear trailing down her cheek. Friendships never lasted. "I'm so sorry......"
//He was a sk8er boi, she said "See you later, boi"
He wasn't good enough for her
Now he's a superstar, slamming on his guitar
Does your pretty face see what he's worth?//

//Sorry girl but you missed out
Well tough luck, that boi's mine now
We are more than just good friends
This is how the story ends
Too bad that you couldn't see
See the man that boi could be
There is more than meets the eye
I see the soul that is inside//
The song finished and Yuugi brushed his blonde bangs away from his eyes, grabbing the glass of water nearby and taking a drink. Already in Japan and they still had to do studio work. It was a hard life, but he had gotten used to it over the years. The long nights and late mornings, the pressure to succeed and write the songs the group played. It was all a routine in the back of his mind, a routine that would keep going as long as he stayed a superstar. Once again, he wondered if anybody had missed him in this backwater town, if anybody remembered the small one he used to be, the innocent that never wanted to fight.
That had all changed. Everything about him this town even knew had changed. He was no longer small, he was six feet seven the last time he'd looked. He was no longer innocent, there was a black hole in his heart and soul that had eaten away at any emotion left. The only emotions that remained were anger, hatred and depression. That was why all the songs were depression and anxiety-filled, like the one they'd just played for the new album, "In The End". It fitted perfectly to his own life.
"Hey, Yuugi." He looked over at Bahamut, who was poking his head through the door. "Someone here to see you. Looks exactly like you." Yuugi froze, the glass slipping out of his fingers and crashing to the ground, breaking into tiny shards and leaving the water to its soggy fate. He regained movement and pushed past the silver-haired adolescent at the door, eyes narrowing at the mere sight of him.
"Yami."
The said ancient froze at the hiss, not being able to move under that cold glare. "Yuugi......y-you've changed......"
"What do you want, asshole? I have no time for talk and I defiantly don't want to talk to you," he hissed, placing his hands on leathered hips. "Anything you want to say, say it quickly. We're in the middle of a recording." He brushed golden bangs away again, waiting for an answer.
"Y-Yuugi, I want to talk to you. Alone. Meet me at Domino Bridge at eight thirty tonight. I won't blame you if you never show." Taking one last, lingering look, Yami turned and walked away, leaving his once pure light to consider.
//He's just a boi and I'm just a girl
Can I make it anymore obvious?
We are in love, haven't you heard
How we rock each other's world?//
//I'm with the sk8er boi, I said "See you later, boi"
I'll be backstage after the show
I'll be in the studio, singing the song we wrote
About a girl you used to know//
