Life as an Anime
Chapter 3

It had been quite some time since me and Marik had been in my world. He seemed to like my school and my friends. We we’re having a great time hanging out together, dueling in several tournaments, spending time just talking. But as fun as my world was we both wanted to go back to the Yu-Gi-Oh! world. So we packed a few things and were once again off to the world of anime.

Yugi and the gang we’re all excited to see us. They we’re all anxious to see what Marik had to say about my world and about all the cool stuff he had seen there.

“Is it true they have more then four Blue-eyes in Kitty’s world Marik,” asked Joey?

“Not only that, but her world has all three Egyptian god cards as well and there are several copies of each,” said Marik as everyone gasped in amazement. Yugi gasping the loudest.
“Wow, was there anything else that interesting there,” asked Yugi. And Marik began to tell of all the cool things he had seen there.

I was really tired the rest of that day and all I really wanted to do was sleep, but Marik insisted we ask Ishizu if she had found any information of the griffen necklace.
So we raced out of Yugi’s Grandpa’s shop and headed straight towards the apartment where he had been staying with his sister and step-brother before he had come with me to my world. We were almost there when from out of no where a person jumped out and bumped into me. All of my luggage went on the floor and the persons bag fell as well. He quickly retrieved it and ran off forgetting to say sorry.

I muttered something to myself as Marik helped me up and help me pick up my luggage.
We then headed off to his apartment where hopefully Ishizu would have more information about the necklace we were puzzling over.

We arrived right at lunch time and to a happy Ishizu and Odion as well. We all ate sandwiches as Ishizu told us of the information she had found from several of the people she knew in Egypt.

It turned out that there was more then just the necklace that was created. In fact there had been several items made just like the Millennium items, except they had been made for one person and that person was the queen of Egypt.

“Oh boy! How are we suppose to find all of these items?” I asked, “We don’t even know how many there are.”

“We’ll just have to try and find them all,” Ishizu said boldly. “We search high and low and do whatever it takes to find each and every item.”

“Okay, I guess you’re right,” I said reaching for my red shopping bag. “Anyone want some candy cause I have several kinds.”
I stuck my hand in expecting to fill lots of candy since they filled the bag half way, but I couldn’t feel anything.

“Huh, I can’t feel any candy,” I said very astonished and looked to see where it had all gone. What I saw almost knocked me out of my seat.

“What is this,” I said as I pulled out a long staff-like object out of my bag.

Everyone gasped as I gazed at the bird-like top and the pointed bottom and the amazingly familiar looking topaz jewel locate towards the top of the staff. I was covered in gold from top to bottom and shined with every angle it was viewed at.

“This..... This looks like another golden item,” I said as I pointed to the golden jewel. “Look there is a jewel on it that looks just like the one on my griffen necklace.”

But then something else caught my eye. A note that had some writing on it with a picture of a griffen at the bottom and a posting on the back that said “TOP SECRET”. The note explained what the object was and how it was one of the most valuable items in the whole collection. But not how to use it or what its other powers were. It did however tell of how just like the necklace it could turn the holder of the item into either a griffen or a person with griffen wing and ears, except instead of just the holder being able to change, this item could also allow other that the holder wished to change as well.

“Wow these items have a lot of power,” I said as I finished reading and telling everyone about the awesome power the item had.

“It could be dangerous,” said Ishizu, “But I will let you keep it anyways since we have no idea how to use its power and we still need to collect them because of the consequences that may happen if we let anyone get a hold of them.”

I began to search on my laptop for pictures of this queen. I found a lot of information on her, but no pictures so I decided to use my media finder to search the web for any pictures of the queen I may have over looked. I hoped that maybe if I could find something as good as a drawing someone had made or even just a stone tablet carving so that I might be able to tell what this queen looked like. I finally found a picture program that had several pictures of her in drawings, stone carvings, and other things as well. I tried downloading it, but it said I would have to wait for an hour. It was nine o’ clock and I was tired. I didn’t want to go to bed because of the download, but somewhere along the line I dozed off. And the weirdest thing was the dream I had that gave me a clue about these items and this is basically what went on in the dream.

I could see a young girl with the Golden Griffen Staff, as I knew it to be called, and several griffens that were fighting off three gigantic monsters. I couldn’t see what exactly the monsters were or exactly who the girl was either, but then I saw a guy. He had griffen wing as he walked heading towards the girls side. And then like the wind they both flew to where the battle was taking place and I could see that the girl had been wearing wings since the beginning of the dream. I still couldn’t see her face because it was dark, but a light shown on the face of the guy as he flew by and at that moment I could see clearly that he was Marik.

“Kitty! Kitty!,” Marik said to me as I stood there staring in amazement. “Kitty.....”

It was then that I realized I was dreaming. I woke up and saw Marik hovering over me, calling to me to see something.

“What is it Marik?” I asked as I got out of the bed and walked over to what he was pointing at.
I looked over to the laptop and what I saw made me also fall over.

“That’s.....That’s me,” I gasped as I looked closely at the Egyptian artwork that had been drawn some centuries ago. “But....But how?”

“The whole seems very strange to me as well,” Marik said in a calm voice. As if that was going to help calm me down.

“There’s just no way. How could I be the queen. There must be some mistake. I don’t even live in this realm and I am no way an Egyptian.” I sat back in my chair and sighed. “How did I get into this predicament?”

“I know this may be shocking to you, but you’re very lucky to have been known through out Egypt,” Marik said ashurringally. “I only wish we knew when this queen lived, then we could get more information on her.”

“I guess you’re right Marik, what should I be so worried about.” I said cheerfully. “I mean I guess it could be kinda fun, collecting the items and finding out their secrets. Its just that, I’m of the fact that these items will get me into a lot of trouble and I know you and everyone else here have already gone through enough and...”

I was abruptly interrupted from my quick paced, let sad speech when Marik said.

“You don’t need to worry,” he grabbed my chair and stared in to my eyes. His voice became stronger. “You have good friend who are caring and loyal to you, you should know that.” He backed away and began to speak softer. “And you know that I will always be there to back you up if your in any kind or trouble.”

“Uh....” I was a little embarrassed. I had no idea Marik cared so much. I mean sure he was a nice guy, but I had no idea he really cared. “Thank you Marik, I can always count on someone like you to back me up. You are a true friend.”

“Just a friend and nothing more,” I guess Marik had intended for me not to hear him because he was talking under his breath.

I showed the picture to both Ishizu and Odion later that day. They both gasped just the same as I did and were equally as baffled. How would this new found secret effect me in the days and weeks to come.

“I had a dream,” I said softly to Marik as we sat outside on the grass outside his apartment.

“So did I, but what makes you’re’s any different?” Marik answered jokingly.

“I’m being serious,” I said to Marik playfully. We both smiled for a while at each other and kind of laughed a little. “ I dreamed that some one and surprisingly you were fighting off three beasts with the aid of griffens helping.”

“Hmm. What exactly do you think it means? And what do you mean by another person? And what exactly were the beast?” Marik was asking was to many questions and I was getting quickly annoyed.

“I don’t have any answers Marik,” I said leaning back from the position he had put me in with all those questions. “Like I said, it was just a dream.”

“Yes, but a dream can mean more then just what someone sees,” Marik said obviously sensing that I was getting a little annoyed and backing away. “A dream could possibly tell the future or even reveal the past.”

“Oh....” I sighed and stared up into the clouds and the beautiful sunset. “Isn’t the sunset just so beautiful. Back at home the sunsets were never this beautiful. It could be the ocean or it could be where were sitting, but I think the biggest reason is because I have someone to share it with.” I kind of blushed as I said this. He didn’t say anything, he only stared at me for a while and gazed into my eyes. This only made me blush even more. I turned away and sort of peeked through my long hair to see if he was still looking at me. He was, and I couldn’t help but as him. “Do you really care about me as you said Marik. Would you really back me up in a situation?”

He smiled for a while and then finally said. “More then you know.”

Now I’m usually not one to just go and get all comfortable with someone, even if I really know them, and what I did at that moment must of come from the heart.
I leaned my head on his shoulder and closed my eyes. “I am fortunate to have a friend like you Marik.” I knew that Ishizu and Odion must be watching because I some how sensed them, but I didn’t care. I felt just fine rest here and loved every second of it. And I know Marik did to because after a few seconds he said. “As am I Kitty.”
