The lush green forest was a place of elegant beauty and riddled with intoxicating essence of magic. The sight was tainted with shafts of pearly white light that laced through the canopy of spider-like branches to the pine needle floor.

The light was never constant; drifting mist would filter the moonlight and brush the pinecones with moisture that glistened when the mist rose and disappeared into the crisp cold air.

An amber glow reflected in the diamond-like droplets that came from a roaring bonfire, situated in the clearing of trees.

Around the bonfire sat a Witch. She wore an earthly brown cloak; the hood covered her chiselled features, like a temple dancer. A brass belt was fitted around her small waist. Celtic designs decorated the hem of the fabric. The Witch sat at the head of the bonfire.

Next to her sat a male elf that wore a dark blue robe that was fitted with runes to show his high rank in his Elf-clan.

On the other side of the bonfire sat a male Vampire that wore a blood red robe that is tightened with a piece of black cord that had a pendulum at one of the end. The cord was wrapped around his waist. Next to him sat a human wearing a jade-green tunic and dark leggings. A blanket of heavy material was wrapped around her slight form, her auburn hair whipped around her pale face. They made up the four corners. Earth, air, fire and water.

"Has it begun?" came a smooth voice from the shadows behind the Witch. The figure stepped out into the flickering orange light. Lavender hair caught the slight breeze, lifting it up from well-defined shoulders to sway around his high cheekbones. Hazel brown eyes stared at the group with a bored glimmer.

Suddenly the branches overhead, parted to let a ray of brilliant white light that shone on the four.

The Witch smiled, her crimson lips parted in a glee, "It had begun, Lord Pegasus" The four joined hands as they closed their eyes, reciting a chant. Flickering images of certain Leaders of Kingdoms were shown until it stopped at two certain Lords with unearthly resemblance and yet totally different at the same time.

"Alone, they are powerless against you. Their forces will be crushed instantly. But combined.they would work like Exodia, obliterating everything that stands in their path" the Witches raspy voice rose to Pegasus's ears. His face turned grim.

The image disappeared and the four let go of each other, breathing heavily. Their eyes glazed, magic still coursing through them like electricity.

"So it is to be. Not even our Gods will change the prophecy of Pegasus's ruin," The human murmured, her head bowing in shame of letting her Lord down.

"Tell me what I have to do to stop it" his voice was a hiss, obviously near to exploding in anger, His patience was slipping from his grasp.

Silence fell over them and Pegasus turned to leave but was stopped by the low voice of the Vampire, who's gaze was fixated on the flames that licked the logs that were turning into charcoal. "Nothing is set into stone, not even prophecy's. Lady fate sees to that." (AN: I couldn't really put in Lady luck, cause it didn't sound right! It sounds sweet, ne?)

"What are you saying?" Pegasus asked turning around fully, as if trying to decide if the Vampire was telling him something that was worth the wait. It sure as hell was.

"The boy of light will bind himself to a leader and that someone can change the course of the future. You can be that Leader" Pegasus's lips were tugged up in a smug smirk.

"And you know this to be true?"

"Do not be a fool with this knowledge, Pegasus. True love is the hardest battle to overcome" The elf spoke up. Pegasus nodded.

"Blessed be" and he left, disappearing into the shadows.

The Mouto heir stood transfixed in front of the three-part mirror as his reflection stared back. What used to be a rather weedy boy was now replaced by a teenager, a beautiful teenager.

He wore a mask that was made of smooth, shimmering ostrich feathers that covered the top half of his face, from his forehead to the end of his nose. His attire was made of dark blue silk that made a tight fitting shirt. It clung to his body in graceful lines, held together by a light blue ribbon that began in the middle of his small but well-defined chest and crossed and re-crossed to his lower abdomen. A more callous fabric made of the same dark blue was for his tight fitting pants. Black knee-high boots completed his costume.

Even though the mask hid most of his face, it did not hide his startlingly wide violet eyes that everyone was so attracted to. Yugi thought of them as traitors, they showed so much emotion. Emotion that could cost him his life. So much emotion, like now, they were showing nervous anticipation. Nervous anticipation for tonight, when Yugi finally meets his nemesis.Yami.

Even though the treaty between the two Realms was made, it was falling apart in mere days after the Light Realm had made alliances with Pegasus. Yugi feared that if he made any careless mistakes, his Kingdom would pay for it, dearly.

Full lips drew together in a tight line and determination was etched on his child-like features. //I'll never let that come to pass, I swear. Even if it costs me my life. From what Pegasus has told me, I'm not totally clueless bout him..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I must congratulate you for facing up to the Darkness, but have no fear, I will be attending the masked bawl also so I will be there if you need any assistance" the smooth and chilling tone of Pegasus floated through their Link. Yugi couldn't actually see Pegasus's face so he didn't know if he was being truthful or not.
"If that's so, then would you introduce me to.him?" Yugi asked hopefully.
"Trust me when I say he will take care of introductions. He has a way with people, outside of bed as well as in" Yugi couldn't help but let the gasp slip from his mouth. He heard Pegasus laugh, obviously enjoying the shocked noise at the other end of the link.
"So you haven't heard, little Yugi. He has quite a reputation, seducing everyone and once he has them in his bed, he will brake their hearts" Yugi swallowed the growl that had risen in his throat.
"He has no compassion, the worthless bastard!" the outbreak was so unlike Yugi that it surprised Pegasus.
"Come now Yugi, it isn't entirely his fault, he has striking good looks and it takes one hell of a strong will to resist him" Yugi 'hmphed' at his statement. No, it takes less then that. You have just got to remember that he's a blood-sucking vampire, like the rest of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ End of flash back ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thinking back on the conversation, it sent chills down Yugi's spine. Something was going to happen but what.?

The Mouto Mansion was now basking in the glow of the sunset while loud music from an orchestra floated out from the large open windows. Gleaming chandeliers cast a dim orange glow over the crowded dance floor. Numerous noble men and Ladies stood talking, laughing or dancing, awaiting the arrival of there soon to be king.

He stood at the arch doorway that led to the main ballroom; a wave went through the crowd, like electricity. Men stood rooted to the spot, like they were in a trance as Yugi made his way through his way across the dance floor. Women smiled and nodded at him, their eyes glinted with interest. Little time passed before many admirers surrounded Yugi.

"I always knew you look really good in blue" a familiar taunting voice was heard from Yugi's right. A small smile played across his lips and he turned to face his best friend and first commander, Jounachi.

"Jou!" Yugi embraced him in a tight hug.

"Missed me?" Jou asked teasingly. He wore a rich green uniform with a scabbard and sword that hung from his belt. Thick blonde hair occasionally got in the way of his golden eyes that often gleamed with a gut-flipping mischievous glint that never seemed to go away.

"Dance with me?" Yugi asked, almost pleadingly. Jou laughed and pulled them both on to the dance floor and immediately began to twirl Yugi around.

"I hear the almighty Prince of Darkness is coming to your ball. Do you really think that is a wise decision?" concern was purely evident in his soft voice and Yugi nodded with uncertainty.

"I know what you mean, but my high-council said it would be our best option since our treaty is falling apart" Jou nodded in understanding.

"Where's Ryou? I thought he would be here with you?" Yugi asked while searching the crowed for his White-haired friend and respected Mage.

"You know Ryou! He's probably off somewhere, casting protection spells against shape shifters and all. He takes his position as a high-Mage a little too seriously" Yugi laughed, the sound was bubbly making Jou smile.

Jou's grip on Yugi's arm tightened and his attention was fixated on two people who had entered the room, immediately catching everyone's eyes and attention in the room.

"He's here isn't he?" Yugi whispered, turning his head, then his whole body.

"There he is" Jou said in a half whisper. Yugi's eyes touched a man, then another, and then froze to the only person who could be Yami.

Even across the room, he gave the impression of barely contained power and sensuality that was barely contained. He wore a black mask, covering his upper part of his face. Tri-coloured hair framed his high-cheek bones. His skin was a slight tanned colour, which is unusual for a Vampire. Yugi watched Yami smirk a full-lipped smirk at the boy he had entered with, which Yugi presumed was his first commander. He had heard of his commander, his name was Seto Kaiba, a man of little mercy. Yugi hastily drew a shaky breath at the smirk.

He also wore a white shirt that had a gaping neck, showing off his broad shoulders to his viewers. The shirt fitted snugly to a muscled torso and the sleeves were flared in a traditional manner. Black riding pants hugged long muscular legs while black knee-high boots finished off his attire. A black sash was fitted around his narrow waist that held a gold decorated scabbard that held a sword. At the hilt, long lean fingers tapped absent- mindedly.

Yugi noticed at once that the whole time he conversed with Seto, his eyes kept flickering around him, as if he was in search of something.

Then their eyes met. Crimson on Violet. Yugi could have sworn that in someway, Yami had reached out and touched him; electricity was flowing between them and not in a bad way either.

Now, seeing his enemy or half-enemy for the first time put Yugi in a sense of uneasiness. What was he suppose to say or do? Treat him like a friend? Or be called towards him? Being cold wouldn't solve him anything, his grandfather had taught him that much.so what???

While Yugi was battling within himself, Yami and Seto were making their way towards them. Yami's smirk widened and Yugi got the feeling that what ever he had been looking for, he had found it.

Yugi felt frozen to the spot, pinned by the intense gaze from the crimson- eyed Prince, and held by a magnetism he couldn't break, no matter how hard he tried.

Yami now stood within inches of Yugi, who was a head shorter, then himself. No mask could hide the pure innocence of the smaller Prince and it became evident that Yami was very attracted to him. He could be mistaken for a fallen Angel, the blood of an Elf that was flowing through his veins. The most beautiful creature he has the pleasure of setting eyes on. It was just a matter of time, until everything was set to capture the Prince and his strongest Allies. He was going to personally see to it.

TBC.
