Light In Darkness

A/N: Hello all! =) I know it's been a long time, but I just couldn't write. I don't know why, but it's like I can't finish my stories. @.@ I promise I will though! Summer's almost over for me…but I am going to try and update as much as possible. I'll be updating more because I'll be so freakin' bored in class that I'll need to write. -.-; Pray this is going to be a boring year for me. It's already bad enough my parents' friends are my teachers and everything. (Mr. Peters is cool though.) >.< Anywho, please review!

Disclaimer: I do NOT own Yu-Gi-Oh! but I DO own this fanfic. ^__^

Yugi let out a shaky breath as he entered the Kame Game Shop. Yami was walking beside him, unsure if they should be showing Yugi's family the bond between them; lest they act like Rebecca did. She was trailing behind them. They'd made her swear not to breathe a word about their relationship. The violet-eyed teen walked into the kitchen, immediately being hugged by Solomon and Arthur. Yugi giggled softly and pulled out of the crushing embraces.

"Long time no see? Did anybody miss me?"

Solomon smiled at his grandson. "Yes, the three of us did miss you. Didn't Rebecca tell you?"

Rebecca hurriedly made her way to her cousin's side and turned pink. She shook her head quickly and muttered something incoherent. Arthur chuckled and glanced at Solomon; the two nodded. They grabbed Rebecca and tickled her mercilessly. Yugi cracked up. When he'd finished laughing his head off, he looked back at the doorway to the kitchen. Yami was standing there, with that same taunting smirk on his face he'd had when the two met. Yugi felt panicked. He strode over to his lover, noticing his gaze was directed straight at Solomon. Yugi turned worriedly back to his grandfather, who'd finally stopped tickling the blonde girl and spotted Yugi and Yami. The prince of the Light Kingdom noticed his darkening scowl, his eyes narrowing at the vampire beside him. Solomon stood and made his way over.

"So, you're here now too. Why?"

Yami let out a cold laugh. "I'm here because I was asked."

Solomon's eyes flashed with alarm. "Who invited you?!"

Yugi looked at the floor, then up again; stepping between the two. "I did. What's the matter…?"

Solomon blinked and stared at his grandson. Why did Yugi invite…him? It just wasn't done! This was exactly what he was afraid of, letting Yugi go to the Light Kingdom and meeting with this bastard. He growled and pulled his grandson away from the crimson-eyed ruler. He wouldn't allow it. Never!

"Grandpa! What are you doing?! Let me go!"
Solomon huffed. "No! Not with that leech in my house!"

Yami looked slightly offended, but then the expression turned cold again. He bared his fangs and let out a menacing hiss. His black wings grew from his leather-clad back. He would not be harassed by the same man who killed his father! Anger overtook him and he stepped towards the elderly man. His intent was to kill. His mind couldn't comprehend anything but the death of this man at the moment. Yugi looked frightened. He wrenched free of his family member's grasp. He grabbed Yami around the middle and buried his face in the male's stomach. Solomon watched in stunned silence as the Ruler of the Dark Kingdom calmed instantly, closing his crimson eyes. He purred softly, lifting Yugi from his kneeling position (A/N: Sorry, he wasn't doing THAT. He got on his knees…and flung himself at Yami…)

"Yugi…I need to go…now."

The prince shook his head feverishly. "No! You promised you'd stay!"

Yami let out an small growl. "But I need…you know what I need!"

Yugi looked into the other's eyes, tilting his head slightly to the side. "Let me come with you?"

The elder nodded, understanding Yugi had to learn to feed sometime. He glanced back at Solomon. "I am willing to get over the past, if you'd give me another chance."

Solomon paused for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, but if you hurt my grandson or anyone we know, this little agreement's off and I'll kill you in an instant."

Yugi frowned at the thought of somebody trying to kill his koi. "Grandpa…you can't kill him! Besides, he wouldn't hurt me."

Yami nodded in agreement, then pulled Yugi out the door. "You've got a point, aibou."

"I know. But what happened between you and my grandfather?"

Yami sighed. "He killed my father and then I tried to kill him for it. It happened a long time ago, though, don't worry about it."

Yugi agreed and silently walked beside his lover. He wondered how exactly they were going to feed. He'd never done it before. Was it the same way Yami had sired him? His eyes clouded in confusion as he racked his brain for an answer. The darker of the two watched his love from the corner of his eyes, wondering what in the worlds was bothering him. His train of thought halted as he found the perfect pray. He bared his fangs and pulled a startled Yugi into a tree. Yami quickly explained and grabbed a young woman, feeding off of her and then the same with Yugi. Yami touched the wounds on her neck, causing them to disappear. He dropped her body carelessly and headed back to the shop with Yugi. The other prince seemed not the slightest bit worried about the death of the woman. Actually, it was probably all Yami's fault. Yugi knew Yami was definitely changing him. Yup, he was not so innocent anymore. He grinned sheepishly at his family and practically dragged Yami to the living room. He sat down and immediately began to watch television. In the Light and Dark Kingdoms, nobody had time to watch TV. None at all. But now, Yugi gleefully sat on the couch and stared at the screen. Yami chuckled and sat beside him.

Hours later Yugi had fallen asleep on Yami. The crimson-eyed male smiled softly and turned off the television; picking the other up. When he reached the kitchen he gave Solomon a questioning glance. Solomon nodded.

"Up the next set of stairs; third door on the right."

Yami smirked and carried Yugi to his room, looking around. It was all…blue. He chuckled at his own description and laid beside his koibito and covered himself and Yugi up, trying desperately to fall asleep. He couldn't. He usually slept during the day…and soon Yugi wouldn't be able to stay awake during sun up as well. Only three more days before he truly became a creature of the night…
