Opening Remarks

Avari is 18 and a slave. Orphaned then found by rich and cruel merchant slave traders of Egypt…. this is where her story begins.

Found wandering in a town, unclaimed by parents and in rags, slave traders came upon the young girl, only 12 years old at the time.

A street urchin, digging in the trash bins of Egypt, she was not much to look at, at first glance, mainly because the clever little girl had the presence of mind to cloud her pretty appearance with dirt and coats of rags.

She could not evade them, but did try to be as unnoticed as possible. With purple hair and white blends, she was quite rare indeed. Commoners have brown, blonde and even black hair, but strange colors like hers were rare and a valued quality in the Egyptian slave trade.

As well as her amethyst eye color, in addition to her porcelain skin, she had never ending potential, as a pretty handmaid, or cook. But none of that was seen, because in an average slave camp, the census was around 900 slaves.

Her long hair pulled in a handkerchief, dirt, and rags all completed her bedraggled appearance, which probably saved the young one from a more traumatizing childhood than the beatings, she received from the camp.

For in the perverted homes of some slaveholders, there was no respite. Because rape and torture were common amongst the rancid houses of the damned.

But luckily she had been left untouched, and unnoticed, that was it... she was simply unnoticed.

She grew more beautiful, on each passing day, but to none's notice, she pretended to be weak and frail in front of potential buyers, but really she was as tough as she was beautiful.

Fighting in the camp was common enough and Avari handled herself well, and reigned dominant, none talked to her, nor would she have it any other way.

She only ever had one friend, she loved him and he her, but he was sold, due to his handsome face. She would not readily open herself to other slaves…not just right now anyway. Dull pain still resided in her heart and she would not forget…

Many years had passed, and Avari was 18, as said before. She was ambitious, cunning and intelligent. She had taught herself to read all sorts of scriptures and some came so natural to her, it was scary.

She could read and write, and had any known that she would have been sold within the hour. She did it for her, to prove she was of some worth. But she would not know until the end how much value she had.

Held up in Hell

Avari was being pulled to the world of the living by rough and calloused hands, as so many days before. Atari's eyes opened slightly and she murmured calmly:

"I'm awake"

"Well get up, and make yourself presentable, for Ra's sake!", the slave dealer shouted irritated.

And with that he walked out side as a clear indication that a buyer, a rich buyer was outside and wanted to see all the slaves. Only when a buyer wanted to see all of the slaves did Avari come out.

Avari walked out side secured her handkerchief and dirt covered face, and then jaunted up with a hunch, pretending she had scoliosis.

She got in line and kept her eyes lowered. The buyer was a high Mage from the Pharaoh's Palace, and Avari could not help but look at the handsome white haired demon.

Standing at 5'7 with white hair, and chocolate eyes, but his eyes held a deep and evil, well she wouldn't say evil, but instead the word sinner came to mind.

But in that instant when she allowed herself a look, his eyes met hers and it was over. She was his now. Bakura's eyes gleamed evilly as he walked over to her.

He snatched her and tore off the coats of rags revealing a toned and curved body (she had something on!).

He took his silk sleeve and wiped the dirt away to expose white delicate skin, and tearing off the handkerchief he proved her to be a bonified beauty, that would be his.

"I'll take her", Bakura said, his eyes never leaving her scared ones, as he threw some money on the ground at his feet.

"You said the whole lot was worth 350 silver pieces, so this should be sufficient", Bakura continued as he raised Avari off the ground.

The merchant was extremely angry and he raised his hand to strike her , but Bakura grabbed it and broke it in 4 places.

"None shall touch her, save me…her Lord" ,Bakura said eyes flashing.

The merchant was on the ground, crying when Bakura's bodyguard came to attach Avari to her new master's litter. Bakura roughly shoved him aside and brought her chin up, so he could look in her eyes.

She raised her eyes, as a sure sign of defiance, and he raised his hand to hit her, and then stopped, for she didn't even flinch once.

"Why do you not look away?", he questioned interestedly.

"I obviously do not fear you, my Lord", she answered evenly.

Bakura looked her over again then threw her to the guard, and got in the litter thinking only one thing.

You would do well to fear and respect me my dear, for where your going you will learn to fear the High Mages.
