chapter 2

darkness. She can't see, only listen

"I love you, Teana but I fear that we

might be torn apart"

a soft and loving voice speaks. But then

, a new harsh one.

"My beloved , you will join me in eternity!"

and a sudden pain followed by a loud scream

"TEANA!"

Tea sat up sharply. The dream had felt so real.

She could feel the cold beads of sweat trickling

down her bruises and cuts. And geez they still hurt.

Looking around, Tea saw that she was in the sickbay.

Two beds and two chairs lay on each side of the room,

there was a strong smell of disinfectant and the room

was so white It felt like you were in the psycho ward.

A noise caught her attention. The nurse was talking to

someone.

"I think that she will be fine, she has only fainted"

"I thought she might of fainted because of that bruise"

Tea gasped, she knew that voice .'Kaiba?'.

"It was quite a good thing you brought her in here to me

Mr Kaiba" HE brought HER here? but Kaiba hated her and

her friends, especially Joey and Yugi. Why would Kaiba

care if she collapsed? This was too weird.

The nurse came in and saw she was awake. "Ah good morning,

Miss Gardner , that was some collaspe, as Mr Kaiba was

telling me"

"He brought me here ?" (as if we didn't know that already)

"Oh , yes he seemed quite concerned , would you like to

speak to him?"

Tea hesitated, then nodded. "Oh, good, he wanted to speak

to you, any way, I will call your uncle to come and pick

you up"

Tea started. "Um , my uncle is usually busy, can you please

call my friend , Mai Valentine instead?"

"Okay, But I will have to still notify him ".

Seto stood around outside . 'why do I even stay here, I

missing english!' but He wouldn't leave, not until

he was sure that Tea was ok. 'After all' he thought.

'nobody but the doctor ever made sure I was ok after one of

my 'father's' lessons'. Just then, the nurse came out.

"She is awake and would like to talk to you "

He nodded and walked in. She looked so tired and beaten,

he could hardly believe it.

"You wanted to see me?" Was said with a slightly softer voice

than usual. She noticed 'huh? he is being nice to me?' Tea

thought.

"Yes, I would just like to say, thank.... thank you".

Seto nodded, then started for the door. Halfway though, he

stopped, and gathered his courage to ask what he wanted to ask.

"So who hit you on the face?"

Tea was shocked."What?"

"You heard"

She tried to lie again. "As I told everyone, I had a little

accident on the way to school"

"Yeah right , I don't believe you. I know what a punch looks

like"

THAT was news , well maybe this would get him off her back

"yeah? how would you know?"

The question stopped Seto in his tracks "uh, I just do ok?

anyway, you need help"

"No I don't it was just an accident" both of them were starting

to feel anger rise up in side of them.

"Yes you do!"

"NO I DON'T!"

"YES. YOU. DO!"

"NO I FREAKIN DON'T!"

"Um" a new voice said "should I come back later?" Mai had arrived.

She crossed to Tea's side .

"what are you two arguing about?" The other two looked at one

another.

"Uh, nothing" They said in unison.

Mai ignored this . "So Tea , you ready to go?"

"just gimme a minute Mai, I need to get my things" Mai and Seto

left the room. Tea started to remake the bed . How dare he ?

even though he did help her, that gave him no right to ask questions!

Angrily , She shoved the sheets into the laundry chute

(yes a laundry chute).

Meanwhile Mai and Seto were standing outside.

"Kaiba? do you think she is really being beat up?"

Mai questioned.

He turned to her in suprise "You were listening?"

"Just the last few sentences, I only had to walk

down the street, I don't live that far away".

Kaiba looked at her ,'maybe Mai could help her' .

"Do you think I should try to get her to talk to me?"

"That would be a good idea, you would have a lot more

luck than I did".

"Better not go and talk to her friends behind her back

though, I just wanna know , why do YOU care Kaiba?"

Seto didn't answer for a minute then turned to her ,

all frostiness present on his face. That was a good

enough answer for Mai who left to get Tea, But before

they left. Tea turned around and said.

"Thank you again Kaiba".

Seto stood there for a second,

then left for third period.

so? whatddaya think? sorry for any spelling and grammar

mistakes.

oh wait (best tv announcer's voice) : How will Mai And

Seto be able to help Tea?
