CHAPTER FIVE BEGINS!!!!!!!

“So…”. Sakura started to say.

“So what?”. Koji asked her, typing furiously. He still had to try an arrange a solution. Tai’s disappearance meant that he was in charge. It was a job he did not relish.

“How do we get them all here? The agents would have a lot of trouble trying to convince the others to accompany them”.

“I have been trying to figure out a answer to that for the last hour, and I haven’t come up with it yet. I am so not built for this leader ship crap”. Koji’s eyes shined briefly, then he returned back to normal and held his head in pain.

“What did you see?”. Sakura went to the small cupboard where they kept the aspirin. She opened two of them, and gave them to Koji along with a glass of water. He took it all in one gulp and sat there for a few moments before speaking.

“ I saw our solution” He grinned as he set up another computer link to… Salem (any idea who I’m talking about?)

“You guys have to believe us!”. Ken Ichijoji blurted out. They all sat in Matt’s apartment, because his father was out.

Kari Kamiya, Matt Ishida , Davis (what’s his last name?) and their Digimon, including Agumon and Armadillomon, all sat staring at Ken and T.K Takashi in total disbelief . Wormon and Patamon had no idea that their partners did things like fighting creepy overlords and such over the universe. Kari shook her head, trying to get through this information. Her brother was supposedly one of the most powerful forces in the universe. It was just too much to believe. “Why now? Why tell us now?”. She mumbled.

“Because they don’t know where he has gone either, not to mention that others have gone also”. T.K looked out of the window. It was just too quiet out there. “Everyone is afraid”. He said half to himself.

“Okay T.Q”. said you know who, lounging on the couch. “Lets just say that you are right. Why are you telling us this at half past two in the morning? And why aren’t the others here?”. For once, Davis asked a reasonable question. Matt echoed his question with his eyes towards his brother, whom he thought he had done a decent job protecting from evil.

“Well, because we have keep this down to a small crowd. If the enemy got the slightest idea what we were up to….”. Ken trailed off. He was staring behind them at the doorway. They all turned around.

“DIGIDESTINED, YOU ARE NEEDED”.

They vanished.

Coruscant had never looked so empty. That was an accomplishment in itself. No speeders whizzed by the Jedi temple, where Obi-wan Kenobi looked down from in concern. His master, Qui-gon Jinn, stood next to him. Even in the one year that Obi-wan and Qui-gon and known each other, they had grown close and could almost read each others minds. So when a general feeling of despair had wormed it’s way into Obi-wan’s life, it hadn’t taken Qui-gon long to figure out that something was wrong. Then something worse happened.

Master Yoda had done a disappearing act.

No one had figured out how, but suddenly his life force was gone one night about seven days ago. All Jedi had felt it. A massive vacuum had just sucked him away. But it had only added to the general misery of Obi-wan. Qui-gon had tried to cheer up his apprentice, even with his own doubts, but Obi-wan had responded to them as well as a Toydarian with giving things away on sale.

“Obi-wan”. He began. “ Why won’t you tell me what is troubling you? I might be able to help”.

“And I would be glad to be of assistance also”. A new voice spoke. Obi-wan and Qui-gon bowed to Master Windu, whom had been quite concerned about the fourteen year old Jedi. He knew something, or sensed something, and was not telling them. Obi-wan was torn between the two impulses. He wanted to tell his masters about the feeling of dread, the echoes of pain and a sudden desire to travel into the distant reaches of the galaxy, but-.

All three stiffened as they felt a very powerful force right out side the window!.

“JEDI, YOU ARE NEEDED”.

They were gone.

Batman typed furiously at his computer with John and Jo’nn standing behind him. He had told them all about his earlier meeting with Fate, whom had seemed eager for any information that he had on Flash.

“ He seemed a little too involved for his normal self”. Batman finished. “If he is interfering this way, then Flash’s disappearance is something we all have to worry about”.

“As if we weren’t worried enough already”. John gave Batman a good glare. He seemed too distant to actually worry about Flash’s safety. “Why aren’t the others listening to this?”. He examined the computer over Batman’s shoulder. It had newspaper articles of escaped convicts and missing people, all within the last three months.

“Superman is ‘out of town’ as you humans put it” . J’onn informed him. “And wonder woman has time off to look for the new recruits”.

“Hmmm….”. Batman didn’t really agree with recruiting newies into the league. They’ve had enough trouble with the ones they already got. It just seemed too risky. Flash had thought it was a good idea, but then Flash always took risks, it was a subject which he and Batman had quarrelled over many times. In fact, the last time they had fought, it was the last time any of the league saw him. He couldn’t help but think that is why he left. Batman didn’t show it, but very deep down, he felt a twinge about the way he had treated the kid. When he stopped pumping the computer for information, John spoke up again.

“There are simply too many criminals escaping to make us think that he has just left. I say that we should-”.

“Should what?”. Batman snapped. Jo’nn sent John a message.

/He has been acting like that a lot lately/.

\I know, I suppose it has to do with us being down a member and now th-\ He cut off as he heard someone speak.

“JUSTICE LEAGUE, YOU ARE NEEDED”.

All Batman could think was ‘ Not again’ before all three went poof.

More and more of these disappearances occurred around the world. It had no particular pattern, at least to the blind eye. The only warning they ever got was one simple phrase.

But we’ll get back to that later.

It was over.

Tea Gardner lay chained to a bed, her pregnancy ended as of a week ago. Through many aches and pains, through many screams of pain and terror, her little baby daughter had been born. The people who now held her captive let women only into the room, so that they could deliver the baby. No sooner than had Jean Grey cut the cord and announced it’s gender , The monstrosity whom had kidnapped her in the first place come in the room, demanding for the baby. Tea had tried to fight for her little girl, but Cell simply aimed his hand and fired. He was under oath to not kill Tea of course, but poor Jean had no such protection. She could not even defend herself, thanks to the armbands that sapped her powers. Jean Grey had been reduced to a smoking pile of ash. Tea could hear the cry of Scott Summers from down the hall. She felt for him, her cry echoed his. In the month that she had been held captive here, Jean had become a friend. As Tea looked around at her drab surroundings, she couldn’t help but wonder: Would she ever see Seto and her friends ever again? What about her baby? Her precious little girl. She hadn’t even the chance to hold her. Her eyes narrowed. ‘Damn them‘ She thought. Damn the beasts that held her hostage, damn those who looked upon her misery with glee, and damn that bastard who started this whole mess, damn him to the deepest darkest pit of the underworld. Speaking of which…

Gishiro entered the room, malevolent eyes searching her body. He took it in with the look she had come to dread. Once he had closed and bolted the door, he leant in close and kissed her roughly, right on the lips. Tea felt such revulsion at his actions. She tried to wiggle away, but the chains held her tight. She could only shut her eyes as his hands held up her face to his, and then started travelling lower…

Cody Hida was scared out of his wits. He could feel that something was terribly wrong even by the standards of this last month. Shackled to the stone wall behind him, he could also hear the loud gasps of pain through it. Some one in that room was always getting tortured. ‘I hope that it isn’t Tai’. Cody prayed. The two had been separated as soon as they came to, with Cody dragged off in one direction and Tai in the other. While he was trying to be optimistic, he couldn’t help but notice some one with green skin look very happy and flexing out his muscles. Cody was then led to a room by someone who called himself Yami Marik, who basically said that if he tried anything dumb he would slit the throat of the other children.

Cody got on well with the others , a boy named Mokubah, and the one named Serenity, knew each other. They had said that their brothers weren’t exactly the best of friends though. Mokubah’s brother basically thought of Serenity’s brother as the lowest form of life. The last month hadn’t been has bad as he thought. At least he had some new friends to keep him company. He was willing to bet that Tai had no one. He was only half right.

The Flash was in terrible pain.

Strung up by his arms facing a black box in the middle of a cold room, with countless monstrosities hanging above him, and writhing in pain from a brain shocking thingy attached to his head, Flash could only see two good things about the situation.

At least he had company.

And at least it wasn’t Batman.

Sure he may have HAD a point when he said that he didn’t quite pull his weight with the Justice league, and that he took too many risks on certain missions, but that was only because he spent a lot of his time with the U.N.U.L and thanks to that, he got more experienced with the normal thugs that Batman and the others dealt with, and knew the best way to deal to them himself. He couldn’t tell them that though. They weren’t supposed to know, for their own sakes. It was hard sometimes, and it got a lot harder when he had joined up with the league those five years ago. But enough about that subject, lets see who has joined Flash in this chamber of misery and achenes. (is that a word?).

Sideburn was straight across from him. The Autobot’s injuries from his fight with Megatron made it hard to keep himself from screaming whenever a jolt raced through to his CPU. Kurt Wagner aka night crawler was on Flash’s side of the room. They had taken away his holoprojector, and played evil mind games with him. He looked scared, even while he was trying to sleep. ‘If anybody comes to rescue us, it had better not be Logan’. Flash thought. ‘Or else the bad guys will have something to worry about when he finds Kurt’. The thought gave him comfort, seeing Wolverine chasing after Megatron, who was thrice his size, but running in a panic. Flash smiled. “Hey, what are you laughing about?”. Said the last one in the room. “I was thinking about what Wolverine would do to the bad guys if he spotted the kid like this”. Flash replied, jerking his head towards Kurt. “That would be a funny image, if I ever met this Wolverine guy”. Said Skidz.

“Don’t worry Skidz, I have a feeling that you will be meeting him and others pretty soon”. Sideburn piped up. “Then we will go and kick Megatron’s big, fat, rusty, and above all else egotistical butt”.

“Couldn’t have said it better myself”. Flash grinned. “And while you’re at it, that sadistic clown with the permanent marker face will be getting the punch line to my sort of joke”. The three conscious ones laughed out loud. They kept it going even while the next wave of electricity came.

“What da matter, Kaiba? Can’t sleep?”.

“It most certainly is not any of your business Wheeler”.

“It is when we got a whole bunch of work ahead of us tomorrow”.

“For your information Wheeler, tomorrow turned into today about five hours ago”.

“All the more reason for sleep”.

“When are you going to realize that I can’t sleep?”.

“I did realize when I heard you tossing about and yelling no! then sitting up very fast”.

“I didn’t say that”.

“You did too. I heard you Kaiba I am not as dumb as you think. You’re worried as much as I am. I am as worried about Serenity as you are about Mokubah. You might have an extra reason than me for worrying about Tea though”.

“What makes you say that?”.

“When Mai made up that excuse about Tea cooking at your place to pay for her rent, I thought up the one question nobody thought to ask”.

“And just what was that?”.

“Don’t you have cooks to do that?”.

“…. Maybe I fired them”.

“I might just have believed you, if I didn’t just hear that hesitation in your voice. Not to mention the way that Mai freaked out when we told her that Tea’s uncle had called her in sick. And the way Bakura and the Y/B covered for her at the hospital”.

“How did you find out about that , Mutt? You were unconscious”.

“Yugi told me about it after I woke up”.

“Oh… well mutt it is about 6 o’clock now. Lets get up because I don’t normally lie in”.

“The whole CEO thing?”.

“Something like that”.

“Breakfast won’t be ready for another hour. I could show you the training room in the meantime”.

“Fine”. They got up.

“You want to come too, Tori?”. The guy was trying not to listen, so he pretended he didn’t hear that.

“It was a good try, but we know you couldn’t help but be awake, so get up”. Joey yanked on his blanket. Tori got up after that.

They spent the next hour with Joey showing off a few weapons and a few good moves. Tori was impressed, and even Kaiba couldn’t hide his surprise. When he had gotten tired, they just sat down and talked. Tori told Kaiba about the clow cards and the guardians of his sister. “They might look like a stuffed animal and a ‘normal’ person, but that is just their false forms. You should see their true ones”. Kaiba had mentioned a few things about this past month, but nothing specific. He had been relieved when Joey announced that it was time for breakfast.

As they approached the main room, they could hear a commotion. “What’s that?”. Tori wondered. One voice was speaking out louder than most. “What makes you think that the prince of Saiyans would be taken capture voluntarily!”. the three peeked around the corner, the one who was speaking got up in the face of Koji. “This is preposterous!”.

“Who’s that?”. Tori whispered. Joey rolled his eyes. “Meet Vegeta, prince of Saiyans. He thinks that the sun shines out of his a-”.

“As you haven’t given me the chance to explain to yourself or anyone else in this room”. Koji gestured to the 50 odd people there. “I’m afraid that I am going to have to ask you to kindly shut up or you will find yourself unable to move”.

“You think that I am going to shut up just because a little runt like your self said so? Well, I can’t promise you that. But I can promise you a painful end to your-”.

“Sakura”. Koji said. She nodded and waved her hand at Vegeta. He stopped in mid motion. All within that room stopped arguing and looked.

“What did she do?”. Ax asked. “It looks to be some kind of bio stasis”. (He is in normal form, but I can’t be bothered doing this <> all the time. I would lose track).

“An Andalite!”. Obi-wan spluttered. “I didn’t think that they existed!”.

“Didn’t think that JedI would exist either”. Davis muttered.

“And why not?”. Master Windu asked him.

“Well…”. Sakura cut him off before he announced that he and his companions were going to raise a sith that would destroy their republic. “I froze him in time because he has a big mouth and we can’t say anything in between”.

“And just what is ti that you want to say?”. The dark knight spoke. “Wholly sudden speeches! Is that Batman?”. Tori whispered.

“Yep”. Said Joey. “And half the justice league too”.

“Whoa”. Kaiba and Tori breathed.

“I would explain in a moment , but first”. Koji turned to the door. “Joey, go and get the others. Angel too, if he is able to”. Joey groaned, and popped his head out .

“Sure thing boss”.

“Now”. Said Koji . “Won’t you all please take a seat?”.

END OF CHAPTER FIVE

Arrgh, this is taking a little long just to get to the explaining point. I will try to get it all in this next chapter. By the way, I am thinking of a side story. Batman-Flash friendship fanfic. What do you think?

START OF CHAPTER SIX

“First, I think that introductions are in order”. Koji said when everyone had come in and sat down. Angel wasn’t awake yet.

“I will start. My name is Koji, this is Sakura, Gohan, Serena and Ash. We are the core members of the U.N.U.L. We had another named Tai, but right now we don’t know where he is”.

A murmur ran through the room. This was sounding familiar. “Yamcha, why don’t you go on next?”.

“ Um, my name is Yamcha, I am a freelance agent of the U.N.U.L. Gohan is my boss. This is Goku, Vegeta you already know, and Krillin. Tien and Bulma are missing”. Amy stood up next.

“My name is Amy and this is Rei. Serena is our boss and this her boyfriend Darien. Our missing friends are Lita, Mina and chibi-usa”. Joey was next in line.

“Name’s Joey Wheeler, Tai is kinda my boss. This is Yugi, Bakura, Tristan, Duke And Kaiba. Tea, Mokubah and my sister Serenity have gone”. Kari went and gave him a hug (they know each other because of Tai). He returned it. Batman knew three of the names mentioned in the intro, not including Joey’s. “You three are card duellists are you?”. He gestured to Kaiba, Yugi and Duke. They nodded because they were a bit intimidated by the dark knight. Seeing as Batman wasn’t going to say more than he had to, John spoke up. “Name is John Stewart, Green Lantern corps”. Ax and the Jedi looked at him in recognition. “This is Jo’nn , and I can see Batman’s reputation has proceeded him. The Flash is missing ”. They looked a bit shocked. “Serena, do you think that you can try to crack the code on the surveillance tape we found?”. Koji asked “ Sakura was trying to before, but it is quite difficult”. She went to the nearest computer, followed by Batman. “My name is Marco, and I am an Animorph”. Loud cheers interrupted him, everyone knew of the team who had fought against the Yeerks , and won. “Thanks, this is Cassie and I think you all know Ax. Jake and Tobias have disappeared, and well, you know what happened to Rachel”. Loud cheers were gone and sad looks replaced them.

“My name is Ash Ketchum and I am a Poke’mon trainer. This is Brock , and my Poke’mon Pikachu”. Ash held up a yellow rabbit. The digidestined stared at it in wonder. “I know that you guys might think of it as a Digimon, but it’s not. Poke’mon are not from the digital world and they don’t speak English. They do have more attacks though. My friend Misty and the Poke’mon Togepi and Mewtwo are missing”.

“My name is Meilin. This is Julian. We are agents, and Sakura is in Charge of us. This is her brother Tori and one of her guardians, Kero”.

“We thought that my sister was missing at first, but it turned out that she and Koji were here, trying to figure everything out”. Tori added.

“I’m Wolverine, and this is colossus”. He gestured to the man next to him. “I am also an agent and a mutant too”. This provoked no reaction from the others. “What? No fear?”. Davis cleared his throat. “I always thought that you guys were in the wrong. Whenever I saw you on the news, you seemed to be trying to save mankind, not destroying it”. There were murmurs of agreement. Logan almost smiled. “Well, four mutants are missing. And we forgot to mention that your friend Flash is an agent too”. This was said to the league who balked. “That’s why he never seemed to have the time for anything. He works too hard”. Batman’s guilt shot up just a notch. ‘That’s why he seemed tired the whole time, and screwed up that battle with that Gishiro guy‘.

“My name is Mace Windu, and my companions are Qui-gon Jinn and Obi-wan Kenobi”. Everyone just barely managed to keep their surprise in. “Master Yoda is missing”. Again, just barely.

“My name is T.K , and this is Ken.”. T.K smiled at Kari, and got a glare from Davis. “Tai is our boss and these guys are Kari, Matt, Davis, Patamon, Wormon, Gabumon, Gatomon , Veemon and Armadillomon. Tai and Cody are missing”.

Meanwhile, Serena was typing frantically to try and decipher the surveillance tape. Batman was watching over her shoulder. “What kind of technology is this ?”. He couldn’t help but ask her. “It’s a few centuries ahead of Andalite technology, so I would say that you would have this in normal households by 2509”. Batman raised an eyebrow. “I would show you how to utilize this kind of technology, but it would give the human race a jumpstart that it doesn’t really need right about now”.

“Now that everyone knows everyone, why don’t you kindly explain to us why we are here?”. Batman directed at Koji. He didn’t seem intimidated in the least. “Sure, let me start from the beginning”. He cleared his throat.

“In the beginning of time, there was always darkness and the light. The two forces decided that to carry out their battles , they would need a common ground for them to decide the fate of the universe. They chose earth”.

“Why? Why not Coruscant or the Andalite homeworld?”. Ax asked.

“We don’t know, but when the two forces chose the battleground, they also chose the troops. The darkness decided to have many soldiers and a few resources. The light wanted to have just a few soldiers and give them powers and resources of their own. It’s the way we fought ever since the Earth was created. Steadily the light has build up it’s troops . There are six of us right now, which tells you how long it’s been since we have had a new member”. Davis held up his hand. “Who came first?”.

“The one you know as Tai. He came first from the fire of the Earth and was so named Phoenix. Then I was created”.

“Do you all have codenames?”. Asked Goku. Gohan smiled and nodded. “Mine is Rocky, for I came from the Earth itself, and share a bond”.

“We all do with our respective elements”. Added Sakura. “ We also can draw on it if we need to, for instance, my codename is to do with the ocean, and I can use it to virtually wash evil away”. Small smiles at that.

“Let me guess, your name is Umi”. said Kari.

“Sort of right, my name is Moana”.

“What’s yours?”. Asked Batman to Serena. She didn’t miss a beat. “Soyokaze”.

“Breeze”.

“That’s right”. She checked her screen. “Almost done, whoever did this was really good”.

“Hey Ash, what’s yours?”. Brock spoke up for once. He just had to know. Kaiba frowned. He sounded just like him, it was if they had the same voice. (just a little joke).

“Stryker, for the lightning”.

“Wow, but we should stay on track, why weren’t we told about this now? And what is with the agents?”. Colossus cut in . Koji almost looked embarrassed. “No one has ever been told unnecessarily before, there has to be a reason for it. We can’t just go ‘Hey dad, I forgot to mention this to you for my whole life, but ever since before you were born I have been part of a secret organization that keeps evil from taking over the universe. Not to mention the fact that you might not take it seriously, but there are always the game rules. We can’t involve too many people. The agents mostly have to inform us about various things that go beyond your kind of expertise”.

“Such as ?”. inquired Qui-gon.

“Well, lets just say that someone that Goku and his troop are more experienced with show up on your territory. This would be not be something that you could handle by yourself. I know a few of our agents also live there, and one of them would report in to the main centre here or one of our bases on earth. We would probably send Gohan and Yamcha to deal with it you see?”.

“Makes sense”.

“Good, because something else doesn’t to me”. Vegeta was unfrozen. “Why did you send golden mask over to collect us if you are the only ones to deal with these problems?”.

“That would be something I shall like to know also”. Ax added.

“Because one of those rules is never to involve those who weren’t involved in this war”. Koji said grimly.

“And by kidnapping Cody and the rest, they overstepped the line. We aren’t sure if they would just stop there”.

“What do you mean by that?”. Yugi demanded, sort of un-Yugi-like. More Yami-like. Maybe he was rubbing off on him.

“They might try to full-out attack, capture the rest of you or try to upset the balance anyway possible. We all understand that for there to be a light, there must also be a little darkness. The whole yin-yang concept. They don’t. They will only try to spread their darkness everywhere, and destroy us all, including themselves”.

A stunned silence filled the room. It was eventually broken by Serena, who gave a cry of triumph.

“I got it !” She punched the air above her, then winced when she caught the attention of everyone. “Um, what’s wrong?”. She had a habit of zoning out sometimes around a computer.

“Never mind, just put the image up on the main screens”. Koji sighed. The image came up on screens above the heads of everyone. They all stayed silent as the footage came on.

They had witnessed it all now.

The first thing that Kaiba had felt for the mutt was a wave of pity. He had just seemed almost cheerful through this ordeal, but seeing his sister get blasted by a robot, and knocked unconscious only just because another robot got in between them …

Joey just felt empty of all emotion inside, He never thought that it had been that bad, no idea what so ever. The darkness sensed this, and tried to swallow them both up, him and Kari. She just sat there, trembling. Tristan addressed Koji. “I think these two need a breather”.

“Go down to the medical room. Kaiba, you mind showing them?”.

Kaiba did what he was asked for once, and escorted them all out. Gohan nudged Obi-wan. “I know you want to follow, reading minds is one of my abilities. I know why you want to follow”.

“And why is that?”. Obi-wan questioned him .

“Because the general feeling of your despair holds her prisoner also. Want me to go into detail?”. Obi-wan quickly followed them all. Serena made another announcement. “We have so got a problem”.

“You’re telling me”. Green lantern muttered.

“I’ve got more to tell you, trust me”. Something in her voice , made Koji pay more attention.

“What?”.

“Optimus Prime just emailed. He, Magnus and the Autobot Brothers are on their way with team Bullet train. But while they were scanning the earth to set up a space bridge, he got thousands of signals heading this way”.

“Of what?”.

“ The whole Decepticon army, with T101 terminators and Virus Digimon in their wake”.

Let me know what you think so far (No flames please, constructive criticism is what makes me a better writer). What do you think of my Batman and Flash friendship idea. I would never write a yaoi about them. For some reason people just have a tendency to use those in Japanese anime only. So I am not going to break tradition. PLEASE REVIEW!!!!!!!!
