CHAPTER TWELVE

Tea watched Mokubah as he was loaded into the

ambulance. She felt so sorry for the kid. Once full

of life and Naivety, He looked so small and helpless,

devoid of any signs of life. She looked across the

room and saw Seto, talking to one of the paramedics.

He looked so gaunt and grey, she thought he was going

to fall over from the strain. Or else punch Mokubah’s

bodyguard in the face. ’ He has helped me, He needs

my strength now’ she concluded and moved towards them.

She slipped her hand in his, thinking ’these two

don’t have anything but each other, well they also

have me.’ Seto started as he felt the smallish hand

slide into his, but when he saw who it was, he gave

it a squeeze, grateful for the support. “So you were

saying?” He asked the medic, who had stopped. The

dude jumped back to attention.

“Well, where the young sir hit his head, there is

quite a bit of swelling. We can not operate to relive

the pressure until it goes down a little. All we can

do is give him lots of painkillers”,.

“Yo, Mac, we’re all ready to go here!” The other one

said.

“Right Joe, Mr Kaiba, would you like to sit in front

or back?”.

“That’s easy, in the back of course” Seto started to

follow the medic but stopped when he thought about

Tea. There was still that wacko uncle after her. She

seemed to understand his hesitation.

“Go” She said “I will be fine, everything will be

fine, you’ll see.” This last part was said with a

meaningful glance. “ I won’t be able to come tonight,

I still got that nausea to deal with, But if you call

me with details, I will come and see you guys sometime

tomorrow”. She let go of his hand.

“Thank you” Seto said simply and hugged her. They were

both surprised, so he let her go quickly and jumped

into the back of the ambulance. Seto sat across the

medic in the back, and grabbed his brothers hand.

’be a good little brother’ he thought ’and survive

this’.

Tea watched the ambulance pull away, full of mixed

emotions. She was concerned about Mokubah of course,

but she was also full of that emotion that came

rushing through her when Seto had hugged her like

that. ‘Oh come on Tea Gardner’ She thought ‘you can’t

think about that while he’s rushing to the hospital

with his brother’s life possibly on the line. You

just can’t!’ but she just couldn’t stop thinking

about all that could be. Saying goodnight to everyone

who was present, she headed back towards her bed room.

The body guards were quite surprised to have somebody

in THIS house hold actually speak to them, much less

say good night. They decided that this girl was

worth any bit of protection they could offer.

Two followed her up onto the second floor.

Tea was halfway into her room when something hit

her. Fugitively (is that how you spell it?).

She stopped, attracting the attention of the guards.

“Something the matter Miss Gardner?” one asked.

“Tell me how co-ordinated Mokubah is” Was the answer.

The guards were taken aback. “Why the young sir is

as almost as good as Mr Kaiba. Why?” the other

answered.

Tea turned to them both. “We need to check the

staircase, if he as is good as you say, he wouldn’t

of fallen down the stairs”.

“Well thanks for dinner, Yugi! bye Yami!” Bakura said

as he stepped out the door.

‘Well, that was quite good, I didn’t know Yugi could

make spaghetti bolognaise like that. I’ll have to

ask him for the recipe’. But Y/B had been quiet at

dinner. Not even a direct question from Yugi had

gotten him to answer. Only Yami had been able to do

that with a question with where his my little Egyptian

underwear was, And that had resulted in a argument,

so Bakura had to leave early. ‘Y/B has been silent

since that story He told, It must have brought back

memories ‘ Bakura concluded as he reached the end of

the street. Just as he was about to turn left though,

A sudden shock from Y/B stopped him.
