Epilogue

After arriving at Mai's, Tea locked herself in the bathroom. She ran a hot bath and eased into the steaming water. She could still feel Yami's caresses. She laid her head back against the small pillow attached to the tub. A knock sounded on the door.

"Tea! Open this door, NOW!" The doorknob rattled and Mai pounded on the door. "I'm not playing, Tea, open it!"

Tea got up and unlocked the door. Mai stormed in. Tea had seen her angry, but this look on her face was of absolute rage.

"WHAT DID HE DO TO YOU?" Mai screamed. Tea cringed against the tub. Then she spoke up.

"Mai, Yami did nothing. I forced him to have sex with me. He didn't want to, but I pushed it. I've really blown it. Yugi won't want to be my friend now." A fresh wave of tears ran down Tea's cheeks.

Mai felt her anger suddenly subside. Tea pushed it? She moved to gather Tea in her arms ignoring the fact that Tea tried to push her away. Mai gave up and left the bathroom. She went into the living room and turned on her computer. She'd put Yugi's screen name on her buddy list, though they never spoke. She was glad to find him on now. She decided to talk to him about what happened.

"Hey, Yugi" She typed, and waited. Finally she heard a chime

"What do you want, Mai. I'm not really in a mood to talk right now"

"I know, Tea's upset."

"Tell me something I don't know"

"Stop being a baby. She thinks you hate her"

"I hate her? I thought she hated me."

"Really? She won't tell me all of what happened, just that she pushed Yami too far."

"She did, and he tried to switch with me, and I promised him I wouldn't interfere. I didn't, we've talked about it. He's pretty upset too.

"Oh, ok. That's what she told me. I'll try to talk to her when she calms down."

"Ok. I think I'll be going to bed soon, but you have the number if you need to call me."

"I do, but I won't call you tonight, it's too late. You need to rest though, Hon, okay? Tea will come around, just give her some time."

"Okay. Good night Mai"

"Good night Yugi"

Yugi signed off of and shut his computer down. Mai was right. Tea just needed some time. He walked into the bathroom. He turned on the shower and undressed. He stepped in to the steamy stream when he felt an icy touch on his hand. He looked up, to see Yami standing before him. Yugi turned his eyes away, as Yami was as naked as he was. The spirit caught his face in his hands and forced eye contact.

"Did you enjoy it" There was ice in Yami's voice, the sound of it made Yugi feel as though he'd been slapped. Yami's crimson eyes blazed hatefully. Yugi couldn't speak. He'd never heard Yami speak to him like this. His eyes filled with tears and he bowed his head. A biting slap landed on his cheek.

Yami reared his hand back to slap Yugi again, then stopped. What was he doing? How could he do this to this boy who showed him nothing but love and respect. He gathered Yugi into his arms as he felt tears slide down his own cheeks.

"I-I'm sorry, Yugi, I don't know what come over me."

Yami disappeared and Yugi finished his shower.

**Later**

Yugi woke up, ready to shout at the person shaking him. He woke up and saw his grandpa. His eyes were full of tears. He silently handed Yugi the phone and turned to leave Yugi to take the call in private. Yami appeared at his side.

It was Mai. She was crying so hard that she could barely talk.

"Yugi, Tea committed suicide. She was taking forever in the bath, so I went in to check on her. She'd slit her wrists. By the time they got her to the hospital, she'd lost too much blood. I'm so sorry"

Yugi hung his head. He wished he'd never talked Yami into this.

// If you didn't talk me into it, she'd have gone to Joey or Tristian. I felt it. Don't blame yourself Yugi. Even I didn't see her wanting to have sex coming. I'll stay with you. //

/ Well, there is nothing we can do now. /

Yugi flung himself across the bed and cried.

Tea's funeral was later that week. Yugi didn't want to go, but Joey told him that if he didn't go, he'd kick his butt. Mai handed Yugi a letter after the services. He waited till he got home to read it

To my dear friends:

I am sorry for this, but I cannot live with the fact of what I've done. The attack in the park was only the beginning of it. I was beaten up because I refused to do services I was paid for. I was never raped. Being with Yami made me realize that. I betrayed the trust of all my friends. I've been living a secret life, nothing more than a cheap girl. Mai, I'm so sorry. I brought you into this, and you never had to be ensnared into my lies. Yugi, I have always looked to you as a good friend, and I love both you and Yami. I will miss you.

Tristian, Joey and Bakura you have been good friends to me, and I shall miss you too.

Mom, I never meant to hurt you…
