Baku,Yami,Joey: (in other room)

Bakura: Ok, this time Ryu left to get someone so until she get's back, we can try to sneak up on Katie and steal the remote to these damn shockers

Yami: Question is who will steal it?

Joey: We should draw straws or somthin'

Bakura: After all no matter which of us goes up against her we'll win, cause she's just a girl

Yami: You shouldn't underestimate her Bakura, she can get pretty scary sometimes

Bakura: You lost to her last time because you are soft

Yami: Wasn't that you who lost to her? -_-*

Bakura: I DID NOT LOSE TO HER SHE JUST.......

Katie: (still in other room) SHUT UP BAKURA!!!!!

Bakura: (automatically shuts up)

Joey: HAHAHA It's clear who has control over whom

Bakura: (glares at Joey) Shut up

Ryu: (enter through portal) I'm back

Bakura: ........Great........(-_-)

Ryu: Guess who I brought?

Katie: As long as he's fun to anger, I don't care

Ryu: Well actually it was a two for one deal so I brought Malik(good) and Marik(bad)

Marik&Malik: (jump in through portal)

Marik: Where is the pharaoh? I was told that the pharaoh was being tortured here

Ryu: Calm down Marik, he's in that room.......(sees Katie sneaking up behind him with a shocker) but first stay very still

Katie: (tries to slap shocker on)

Marik: (smacks her hand away with the Millenium Rod) I'm not as soft as the pharaoh is

Katie: Damn, so your not going to go for the peck on the cheek thing

Marik: No, you will find that I am not so easy to control

Malik: Boy, do I know that (looks at Katie's unfinished solitare hand and continues the game)

Katie: But control you I shall even if that means.....(picks up phone)taking desperate measures

Ryu: (pales) Your not calling who I think your calling?

Malik: (looks up from solitare) Who?

Katie: A friend of KF5 (begins to dial)

Bakura: If she's a friend of that psyco you know that there's going to be hell

Ryu: (shivers) It's not *gulp* The Dragoness is it?

Katie: Yea, I wanted to wait to call her, but this is an emergency (just finished dialing and put phone to her ear)

What everyone else hears

Katie: ............Hi Al, this is Katie, KF5's alter ego I need your help with something?............I'm in need of your tourchering skills.........Marik from Yu-Gi-Oh, the evil one.............Yea that's him..................Price? I was created by your friend, don't I get it free?..........You really suck you know that?........Ok, how much?...........ARE YOU INSANE!!!!!! I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!!!!!!!!.............That's your final offer huh?............How about this, you tourcher him for free and we'll put you in our story deal?

Al: (can be heard loudly over other end) WHAT KIND OF ASSHOLE DO YOU THINK I AM?!?!?! TOURCHER DEVICES DON'T COME CHEAP YA KNOW!!!!!!! EVEN IF YOU PUT ME IN YOUR F****** STORY IT WON"T MAKE UP FOR THE HUGE DEBT I'LL BE IN LATER!!!!!!

Marik: I knew she would chicken out, she should be playing with her dolls like the girl she is

Katie: (rubbing bloody ear drum)............Yes, that was Marik..........Your coming over!?.......Now!?.......For free!?.....How come?

Al: (can be heard over the other end) I enjoy watching ego trips like him squirm in pain and tell Marik that I don't play with dolls.....I rip their heads off MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Ryu: (pales and turns toward Marik) You're screwed man, you are screwed

Katie: Ok psyco(^_^*)......................What?! Why should I?!..................*sigh* Fine I'll see you at 6 then.....Bye (hangs up the phone and turned towards Ryu) I got some bad news

Ryu: (glares at Katie)What?

Katie: She is only coming on one condition......(takes deep breath and says really fast)Thatweputherinthestoryandletherstayhereforaweek (prepares for the yell-fest from Ryu)

Ryu: (eye twiches)WHAT!!!!!!!!

Yami: Where will she sleep?

Katie: In the guest room

Joey: Den where do we sleep?

Katie: Outside

Joey: -_-* Wat am I, a dog?...........Don't answer that

Bakura: So wait she's going to be in the story......and she's staying here?

Katie: That's what I just said

Bakura: CRAP NOT ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!

Marik: I'm sure what ever torture she applies I will apply one....(grins evily) much more sinister

Katie: Nothing and no one is eviler then Al

Ryu: 'cept Zip

Katie&Ryu: (eyes widen)

Katie: You don't think.....

Ryu: (finishes sentence) she's going to bring Zip

Katie: Crap (turns to everyone else) Guys, I know I've been a bit pushy.....

Bakura: A bit!?

Katie: This is serious anything valuable and/or highly flamable has to go to higher ground

Joey: Why?

Katie: DO IT!!!!!

Everyone: (scrambles to put stuff to higher ground)

Ryu: While they're doing that I might as well do the disclaimer: KF5 only owns me, Katie, the Millenium Sword, and the crazy plot, now on with the story

*Guess not* and with that she ended her conversation with Ryu.

When she got to her apartment building she saw a man sitting on the front step. He looked about 43, he had black hair with grey temples along the sides. As soon as he heard her coming his head shot up and he glared at her with red blood shot eyes.

Katie immedately froze on the spot. *CRAP!!* she shouted in her mind.

The man stood up, and brushed himself off.

"Hello Katie, I must say, it's been a while." He said while giving her one of those you-know-your-screwed-and-you-better-run looks (A/n to anyone that's been in this position, you know what I mean).

"Cut the shit uncle, what do you want?" She growled trying to sound brave but it was plainly obvious that she was trembling.

"Oh I'm sorry, is it illegal for an uncle to visit his neice" he asked with a smug look on his face

"It is if that uncle is an escaped convict that was supposed to stay in jail for another 70 years"

"Yes I know you weren't expecting me, but I just couldn't wait to visit my favorite neice." He reached behind his back and pulled out a gun. "I believe you owe me something.......now what was it again.......oh yes, your life." He growled the last two words at her and advanced on her with the gun.

^Don't just stand there hikari RUN!^

With that she turned around and took off running. She wasn't exactly sure where to run but anywhere was better than here.

"You can run all you want Katie but where exactly will you go?" Her uncle shouted behind her and took off running after her.

In Katie's mind she knew he was right. She couldn't go back to her apartment, he knew where she lived, and she couldn't run forever eventually she knew she'd get tired.

^Hikari if you can just get my sword I could help you^

*Well I would if I could* She thought to her yami as she ducked into an allyway.

Kaiba's P.O.V.

Hmm, it's nice to take a break from work every once in awhile Kaiba thought while sighing. He was on the rooftop his mansion observing the view.

He looked up at the sky which was filled with dark grey clouds. They seem to be reflecting my emotions. He thought as he closed his eyes.

I still can't get that girl's voice out of my head Kaiba thought, it's been the only thing on his mind since his last meeting with Katie.

Kaiba for the whole day he kept smacking his forehead trying to get it out of his head but it would never leave.

Dammit, get out of my head dammit, dammit, dammit He thought, once again smacking his forehead

I have to focus I have a meeting to go to after this. He thought as he turned around.

*BANG*......."CRAAAAAAAP!!!!!" He heard less than five yards away. That scream, he thought as he turned around.

Running across the street, he saw a girl wearing a school uniform(A/n she still never had the chance to change her outfit), running away from a man holding out a gun. while the girl was running he could just barely hear her yelling "Crap, I'm screwed! Crap I'm screwed!"

Without thinking he quickly ran down the stairs and towards the doors of his mansion.

"Where're ya going Kaiba?" A girl with golden brown hair and blue eyes curiously asked.

"Please Allison, master Kaiba would prefer it if you called him 'sir' " One of the maids commented.

"And I would prefer, not to" Allison growled at the maid, stressing the word prefer.

While they were arguing, Kaiba quietly slipped out the door and chased after Katie in the direction he saw her run

End of Kaiba P.O.V.

*Damn, where to next?* Katie thought while she was still running. *At least I put some distance between me and him. It's amazing how fast you run when your life is in danger.* She thought, trying to find some humor in her situation.

^Hikari, in front of you^ Her yami's voice shouted in her head.

"Wha?" she broke out of her thoughts when she ran into an outstretched arm, which, as soon as she hit it, wrapped around her waist and pulled her into an allyway

"AH....." she began to scream but a warm hand came over her mouth to keep her quiet, so she began to squirm to try and escape.

"Stop struggling idiot I'm trying to help you" An ice cold, yet familer voice whispered in her ear.

*KAIBA!!!* all at once she stopped struggling and relaxed against his chest. For the first time this whole day, she felt safe.

Her uncle stopped right by the allyway and looked in. Kaiba tightened his grip around her waist and Katie felt his heartbeat quicken, it was as if he was more afraid to lose her than she was afraid of death. She wanted to reassure him that she would be ok and to not worry about her but that would've been a lie.

Her uncle turned around, after looking in the allyway and not finding anything, and continued running in the direction that he thought Katie went.

They both gave off a sigh of relif and Kaiba let go of her as soon as he couldn't hear her uncle's footsteps.

"You ok?" He asked with a little concern in his voice.

"Other than a broken spine, I'm fine" Katie replied teasingly as she turned to look at him.

"Hmph" Kaiba snorted with the coldness back in his voice again. "Then care to explain why a man with a gun was chasing after you?"

"It's none of your business" she replied in a cold voice that rivaled even Kaiba's, and walked away.

"Hold it" he snapped and pushed her against the wall of the allyway. "I saved your life so it is my business, now answer the question"

"Haven't you heard of the saying curousity killed the cat, boy." A vile voice came from outside of the allyway.

Katie gasped and yelled at Kaiba to run but it was too late. She heard the gunshot then the next thing she knew Kaiba was on the ground, and holding his side which was gushing out blood.

"If by some mircle you survive this shot..." he growled while holding out the gun "learn from this. This..." he said pointing to Kaiba, "is what happens to anyone who tries to help you like last time." He smirked "Remember?"

Katie stood there she knew there was no where to run and even if there was, she couldn't leave Kaiba here to die. So she calmly braced herself for death.

Then down the road behind her uncle she heard a police siren.

*Oh now they show up, perfect timing guys* she thought sarcasticly.

Her uncle, scared to be caught by the police again, quickly pocketed the gun and took off running but not before yelling "I'll finish what I started later, bitch"

She was about to chase after him but as soon as she heard, what sounded, like Kaiba hacking up blood she stopped and knelt down next to him.

"God, Kaiba please don't die on me" Katie said softly as she hoisted him onto her back. *Wow he's heavier then I expected, damn* she thought as she carried him to the nearest hospital.

Once she was got to the hospital and got him a room (A/n you don't want to know the details, let's just say the receptionist decided to be a bitch and Katie lost her temper reeeeeal fast) Katie thought that it would probably be a good idea to call Kaiba's little brother Mokuba and tell him where his big brother was.

She went through his trench coat and found his cell phone with his home number programed into it. After she dialed the number, put the phone to her ear and listened intently for the 10-year-old boy's voice but instead she heard a girl's voice.

"Hello" the voice said on the other end.

"Hi may I speak to Mokuba" she said into the phone.

"And you are....."

"A friend of his brother"

It was silent for two seconds and then over the other end of the line she heard "He has friends?"

Katie sweatdropped "Just put Mokuba on"

In the backround Katie could hear the girl yelling "Yo Mokuba, the phone's for you!" and several other girls clearly older than her yelling "ALLISON, PLEASE REFER TO HIM PROPERLY!!!!!!" then she heard a young boy say "It's ok, I would like to be thought of as something other than your boss" and then he took the phone but in the backround, Katie could hear "HA, IN YOUR FACE PRISSY MAIDS!!!!!"

"Hello"

"Hi Mokuba I'm Katie a friend of Kaiba's and I just called to tell you where your brother is"

"Where?"

"The hospital"

"W-why? What happened to my brother?" His voice sounded so scared for his brother that Katie felt her eyes beginning to water

"Your brother is fine, he was just shot in the side and the hospital is taking good care of him. I just thought you might want to see him" Katie said trying to reassure herself more than Mokuba.

"I'll be right over" She heard Mokuba sniffle "Are you sure he's going to be alright?" He asked and in the background she heard the girl known as Allison asking Mokuba what was wrong.

"Positive" she said softly

"Ok bye"

"Bye" and with that she hung up Kaiba's cell and put it back in the pocket of his trench coat.

At that moment one of the doctors came out and walked up to her.

"How is he?" Katie asked

"He's fine, in fact I came here because he wishes to see you"

"Alright" she got up off her chair and followed the doctor to Kaiba's room.

As soon as she entered the room, Kaiba gave her a cold glare that to Katie felt like being stabbed five times in the heart with an ice cold blade. *Your welcome* she thought angrily.

"I'll leave you two alone now" the doctor said while winking, and then whispered "Your one lucky guy" to Kaiba. Then he turn around and left, leaving a slightly blushing Kaiba and a confused Katie.

Katie shook her head "So what do you want?"

"I told you already; an explanation"

"And I told you that it is none of your business, so keep your nose out of it." She snapped.

"It became my business when I helped you and when that guy shot me, he should be in prison and if you know his name then you will tell me or I'll have you arrested too." He threatened her.

"Your in no position to threaten me!" She yelled tears starting to form in her eyes. "The reason you were shot was because you got yourself involved, you should have just minded your own business and stayed out of my life! The last person that tried to help me is dead and that was 7 years ago! I don't need your help, your simpathy, and I definately don't need you!"

Once she was finished ranting, she look into Kaiba's eyes and saw in his deep blue eyes, many different emotions such as frustration, simpathy, but mostly; hurt.

At that moment Katie felt really bad, wishing she could just take back her words but she knew she couldn't.

Suddenly the door behind her slammed open.

"SETO!!!" She heard as Mokuba ran up to his brother and cried on his shoulder.

"Seto, I was really worried about you, I thought you died and that I was going be all alone" he sobbed.

"It's alright Mokuba I'm fine now, the doctors say I'll be released tomorrow"

Through the slammed open door another figure walked in with long, curly, golden hair and bright blue eyes. "You just couldn't wait, could you Mokuba?"

Kaiba turn towards his little brother "Why is she here?"

Mokuba sweatdropped "She wanted to come to see if she could get a story for the newspaper."

Kaiba snorted "Great my worst nightmare, of Allison and Katie becoming friends, might come true"

Allison turned towards Katie and smiled. "If that's what he expects, I would hate to disappoint him."

Katie smiled back "I couldn't agree more"

Kaiba messaged his temples "Great"

"So Katie" Allison started "Who tried to kill my boss this time?" She asked while taking out a pad and pencil.

"If I didn't tell Kaiba what makes you think I'd tell you?"

"Cause I'm special" She said with big eyes

"Heh" Katie snickered "You most certainly are"

"HEY!!!!.....I like you and yet I despise you for your comment" Allison stated in a british voice then changed her voice into a venomous growl "Better watch your back"

"Well since your brother's here I better get going" Katie said in a scared voice at how creepy Allison's eyes looked.

Her eyes suddenly turned back to normal and a huge smile was plastered on her face. "What's the hurry? Stay awhile." She said as if nothing happened then muttered in her venomous voice so that only Katie could hear. "And you will answer any and all questions that I give you, right?"

Katie gulped and nodded

Allison smiled again "Good, we'll start with who was the man that tried to kill Kaiba?"

Kaiba was trying to pretend he wasn't interested and that he didn't care, but Katie could've sworn she saw his ears perk up.

Katie sighed, "my uncle"

"Name?"

"Phil Terrone"

"Terrone? He wouldn't happen to be an escaped convict would he?"

"He is"

"And why did he shoot Kaiba?"

Katie turned around and walked away "no more questions"

"Hey" Allison yelled as she grabbed her by the scruff of her neck "Where do you think your going?"

"I need to find a new apartment and a job"

"We can give you both" Allison said smiling

Kaiba glared at Allison, "What do you mean we?"

"Can you please let her stay at the mansion you have plenty of guest rooms that haven't been used and you can give her a job so she can carry her own weight." Allison begged

"No" Kaiba said as he turned on the bed and faced the window.

Allison turned to Katie "Can you cook?"

"Yea, why?"

Allison turned back to Kaiba "See there's something she can do, she can be your new cook."

Kaiba, who still had his back to them, sighed and then muttered "I'll think about it"

"Yay, finally a new employee that isn't a snob. I'm going to clean up one of the rooms next to mine." Allison stopped and then turned toward Mokuba and Katie. "You guys coming?"

Mokuba shook his head, "No thanks I want to stay here with my brother"

"And you?" She asked turning towards Katie who shook her head in reply

"I think I'll stay too"

"Hmph fine" Allison said as she was heading towards the door

"Seeya later Allison"

As soon as she heard this she stopped and turned around with a smile on her face "Please call me Al" and with that she left.

"Al huh, what an interesting person" Katie said to herself

"You don't even know the half of it" Kaiba muttered "I didn't even give you permission to stay there and she's already going to clean out a room for you"

"Well are you going to let me stay at your mansion?" She said while giving her most innocent smile.

"Like I said, I'll think about it"

Katie pouted and then plopped down on the chair next to Kaiba's bed with her arms crossed. "Jerk" she mumbled and then closed her eyes and fell asleep.

Katie's dream

"Where am I?" she said to herself as she looked at her surroundings.

She was in the middle of a desert with no water anywhere in sight, just sand, sand, and more sand.

*Damn how did I end up here* she thought as she began walking.

After what felt like an hour of walking she came opon this huge cave with a sign at the top. Even though it wasn't written in english she could still read it 'All who enter must be tested by the gods to see if they are worthy of their gifts'

*What the hell is this crap* she thought *oh well shelter is shelter* and with that she walked in.

Inside she saw a stone piller with five different colored gems in it, four of the gems were surrounding one blood red ruby that was glowing the brightest.

Katie walked over and touched the ruby which then glowed brighter and then shot right into her heart.

All she felt at that moment was intense heat like someone took a hot iron and pressed it against her heart. She wanted to scream but it couldn't come out. All she could do was grip her chest in pain, close her eyes, and pray for the pain to stop.

Then as quickly as it came, it vanished. She opened her eyes and saw standing before her a person or at least she thought it was a person, he had a human body but a falcon's head.

"You are the chosen one dear girl, and as the falcon god Horus, I give you the gift of fire"

End of Katie's dream

Katie's eyes shot open to find herself back in the hospital.

*WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT!!!!! It was a dream but it felt real but it couldn't be real, Horus was a mytical egyptian god.....wait egyptian* She thought as she looked down at the ruby ring that housed Ryu. *Could that have been a piece of Ryu past, if so then why am I dreaming it. Maybe Ryu needs my help with discovering her past so she showed me the dream that she been having the most*

Katie slumped back down in the chair *But right now I'm really tired or I was until Ryu woke me up with that weird dream, damn now I'll never get to sleep*

She glanced at the clock on the wall *Wow 10:00 already so the other two must be asleep already*

Sure enough when she looked on the bed she saw Mokuba, kneeling on the floor with his arms and head resting on the bed, next to his brother, who was asleep on his back and his face towards the ceiling.

Katie sighed, got up off the chair and walked towards Mokuba. *He's such a loyal brother, always there for him and always at his side.* she thought as she picked him up, placed him down on the chair she was sitting on, tossed a blanket over him. *But if I leave him in that position he'll hurt his back.*

Her eyes then fell opon his sleeping older brother. *He looks so peaceful when he's sleeping and when he's not giving off that intense, cold, touch-me-and-you-die vibe* She thought as she looked at his face.

The moonlight that streamed in through the window illuminated (A/n NEW VOCAB WORD) half his face making one side darker than the other.

She reached down and gently stroked his warm cheek. "I'm sorry I got mad at you but I was worried that you would be killed by my uncle like my parents. Anyone who tries to help me," she felt herself begining to cry. "Always end up hurt that's why I" she paused for a second. "Need you to keep your nose out of my life and leave me alone, ok?" She asked as if she expected an answer in return. But all she got from him was a small sigh and a slight smile.

Katie smiled back, ran her fingers through his soft brown hair, and leaned closer to his face, before she knew what she was doing, she brushed her lips against his.

Her head shot up *Aw shit* she thought while blushing *I can't believe I just did that*

She looked back down at his face to search for answers as to why she kissed him and as expected she found nothing.

*Good thing he's not awake or I would be in a shit load of trouble* she sighed in relief *But still* she thought as she glanced at Kaiba's face *It felt weird, nice actually, and warm. His lips feel soft and to feel then against my own made my heart beat a bit faster*

^I KNEW IT!!!^

*ACK, YOUR AWAKE TOO?!?!*

She walked over to the window and looked out onto the city below. A small smile came upon her face. *Well whether Kaiba gives me the job or not I'm going to have to get my stuff out of my apartment and Phil isn't stupid so he's probably there waiting for me. Great, this will be a blast.* She thought until finally, she fell asleep.

Bakura: -_-* Seriously how bad could they be?

Ryu: They make Marik look like a fricken' kitten

Ryu: O_O A war is going to take place here

Katie: -_-* Just don't destroy the house

Marik: (smirks) What if I miss her head, and end up destroying the house

Katie: KF5 will kill you, that is if Al doesn't kill you first

Ryu: (notices the chainsaw that Marik is holding has bloodstains on it) Uh, where did those bloodstains come from?

Marik:........

Malik: ^_^* Remember when you went to our world there was a funeral that no one except Tea went to

Ryu: Yea

Malik: Lets just say Marik was pissed at Tristen

Marik: (smirking) and I was hungry

Everyone else: o______O CANNIBAL!!!!!!

Marik: -_- I was kidding

DING DONG

Katie: (goes up and opens door)

Al: (walks in) Hey what's up Katie?

Katie: Nothing much, we were about to do review replies

Al: Well go ahead

Sailor mini venus: Thanks again for reveiwing and let's face it, everyone is cuter than Yami (angry fan girls glare) O_O but it's what the fan girls want and, unless I want to get killed, what they say goes

Zip: (bites Bakura's hand and jumps into Al's bag which has all of her torturing devices)

Al: That ain't good

Zip: (comes back out with a blowtorch) MWHAHAHAHAHA ALL HAMSTER'S WILL RULE!!!!!!

Joey: HOLY CRAP!!!!! IT TALKS!!!!

Yami: AND IT KNOWS HOW TO USE A BLOWTORCH!!!!!

Al: That's not all she can do

Zip: (transforms into a perfect repleca of Yami)

Al: Zip can transform to look like anyone or anything so you'll never know she's there until it's too late (get's a remote out of her pocket) Zip, get into the pocket

Zip: (shakes her head)

Al: (presses button) NOW!!!

Zip: (drops her head and walks into the pocket after feeling 100 volts from the collar around her neck)
