Daisuke: Sorry this took so long, but you know how it is, too much homework

 

Bakura: Why am I here?

 

Daisuke: Because I want you to be.

 

Bakura: And I'm afraid of you because…

 

Daisuke: -makes knife appear next to Bakura's throat- and if you get away from that, I'll call Ryou.

 

Bakura: -does puppy eyes- NO! I'll be good.

 

Daisuke: That's better. Now, on with the fic!

Last time: Harry was sure that Yugi would end up in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, since he neither looked full of courage or self-importance. For some reason this made him feel a little sad, he wondered why.

 

The hat had only been on Yugi's head a few moments when it shouted “GRYFFINDOR!” Harry was stunned. That boy had to have a lot more courage than he'd showed to be in Gryffindor. The entire table got up and cheered, the first noise any students had made since the boy walked in. Yugi came over and sat down next to Harry, while Dumbledore motioned for them to finish eating. Harry introduced himself to Yugi, but instead of the usual surprise and stare at his scar, the boy smiled and held out his hand. Harry took it and the boy said, “Konnichiwa, my name is Yugi.”

Harry paused. “Umm, what does `konnichiwa' mean?”

“Oh, sorry, didn't mean to let it slip. `Konnichiwa' means `hello' in Japanese.”

“Ah, so you're from Japan!”

“Yes, why?”

“Well, it would explain you're reaction to my name. Most people stop and stare at my scar.”

“Yes, well, I knew who you were, it's just that it's rude to stare at people. Even if they're famous. I should know, people have been doing that to me for three years now.” Harry was stunned. Not only was this kid far more courageous than he seemed to me, he was famous too! The two became fast friends. After breakfast, they headed outside to sit by the lake. By the time Ron and Hermione joined them, you could've called them best friends.

“Oh! Yugi, this is Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. Ron, Hermione, this is Yugi, the new transfer student.” The two were dumbfounded. Yugi was new and already he was almost as close to Harry as they were. But the look on Yugi's face was what threw them off, even Harry. Yugi had been staring into space. Then suddenly there was a flash, and Yugi changed. His eyes changed from bright lavender to dark crimson, and narrowed somewhat. A few of his blonde bangs rose into the black part of his hair. And he grew a few inches taller, looking a bit more muscular than he had before.

“I am sorry about this,” the changed Yugi said in a deeper voice than Yugi's had been. “But my aibou has yet to explain a few things.” Harry was confused. Yet another Japanese word he did not know.

“Umm, excuse me, but what does `aibou' mean?” Harry asked.

“It means `partner'.” The different Yugi said. Then he sighed. “Maybe this will help.” Suddenly, the purple-eyed Yugi was standing there, and the red-eyed one was next to him. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were wide-eyed and gaping.

“You know, Yami, there's a certain order in telling people these things.” The purple-eyed Yugi said. Apparently the others' name was Yami.

“Well, it seemed like you were never going to tell them, so I thought I would.” Said Yami. (A/N: Jeez, impatient much?)

Yugi sighed. “Well, guys, this is Yami. He was once a Pharoh in Ancient Egypt.”
