Ch.13: Timing Escape

-Yugi's POV-

“This can't be good.” I said as an automatic voice began to boom out.

 

“This place will self-destruct in sixty minutes, counting now.” (A/N: O_O Self-destruct!!)

 

After that, the huge screen appeared from the ceiling, showing the amount of time left. I have to do something, and quick. I quickly pressed every random button and hope I don't mess up.

 

`For both our sakes.' I thought.

 

Suddenly, without warning, the last pod finally opened. I ran over to the pod, and when I got there, there he was, sitting with his back against the pod's wall and sitting there.

 

“Fifty minutes to self-destruction.”

 

I ignored the warning and walked up to him. “Pharaoh.” I said as I placed my hand on his shoulder and lightly shook him. “Pharaoh? Pharaoh?”

 

-Pharaoh's POV-

“Pharaoh.” I heard a voice that sounds like Yugi. I felt something on my shoulder and was lightly shaking me. “Pharaoh? Pharaoh?” The kind, familiar voice called. The feeling of curiosity took over me. `I waited along time for this.' I thought as I gather what little strength I have; I used a lot to resist from the shocks earlier. I slowly open my eyes for the first time since Ra knows how long, but only to feel disappointed, because of my lack of a clear vision. Everything was a blur.

 

`Great.' I thought. `I finally got a chance to see my savior from the damned puzzle and I can't even see straight!'

 

“Pharaoh? Pharaoh can you hear me?” Yugi said in that kind, innocent voice of his.

 

I slowly nodded.

 

“Could you see me?” He said, probably figuring out my difficultly in my lack of a clear vision. I shook my head.

 

I then felt a pair of arms around my waist and lifted up to my feet.

 

“You think you could walk a bit?” He asked, and I did try, stumbled a bit, but not to bad.

 

“Fifty-five minutes to self-destruction.”

 

`What in the name of Osiris was that?!” I thought as I held onto Yugi while walking, until we stopped.

 

“Oh no.” He said, almost to a point of panicking.

 

-Yugi's POV-

I went into the storage room, only to find out that our only way out is blocked. “Oh no.” I said as I stared at our best escape. I felt panicky, I didn't know what to do, or where to go. I started to shiver slightly, (A/N: I would feel the same way.) and my condition would have been worst, if it wasn't for the comfort feeling I was getting from the Pharaoh. He stroked my back a few times until I started to settle down. I looked up at him, his half-opened eyes show the dull crimson color of his eyes. He has some strength, but I knew that he could stay cautious for so long, and we need to find a way out.

 

“Okay, like the old saying goes, `if at first you don't succeed, try, try again.” I said and with that, we left the storage room and around the place.

 

-Pharaoh's POV-

“Thirty-five minutes to self-destruction.”

 

“Would you just shut up already!” Yugi shouted at the annoying voice, which I had to agree.

 

We've been walking for quite sometime, and I could sense his disappointment every time he believes we found a way out of this place. My blurred vision is starting to clear, but, at the same time, I feel like I'm drifting away, but I have to keep myself awake, until Yugi is out of harms way. Yugi opened one of the doors and gasped. Thought I could barely see, I could smell the cold blood, intoxicating the room.

 

-Yugi's POV-

I was shocked to see blood and parts of flesh covered the floor. Then my attention on the desk, which looks like it has some kind of blueprint of the house. I wiped away the blood, even though it felt gross, to see if the house has anything that could help our escape. There was one secret passage in the library that we could use. The library room wasn't far from here and the passage leads to the outside. I smiled and looked over at the blueprint once more, memorizing the way.

 

“I think I know a way out of here, and this time I'm sure of it!” I said as I saw a small smile from the Pharaoh.

 

“Twenty minutes to self-destruct.”

 

We made it to the library with no trouble. I went over to a bookcase that I remembered from the blueprint. I started to pull out some books and found the lever, which caused the bookcase to open.

 

“This is it.” I said as we entered the tunnel. “Just to let you know, we might get wet when we get out, since it's still raining.”

 

The Pharaoh slightly nodded his head in understandment.

 

-Pharaoh's POV-

We've been walking down this tunnel for what seems like an eternity, then I felt an icy cold wind hit. Then I felt rain on my skin.

 

“You like the rain, don't you?” Yugi said with a bit of amusement in his voice.

 

`Well you don't get this much rain in Egypt.' I thought as I gave him a smirk. He gave out a small laugh. Then we heard someone, not to far off.

 

“YUGI!!”

 

-Normal POV-

“YUGI!!” Everyone, who was not uncautious, shouted, hoping to hear from their friend.

 

“Ten minutes to self-destruction.” The annoying voice can be heard outside.

 

“You think Yugi and the Pharaoh are going to be alright?” Kia asked, having some hope that those two have found a way out.

 

Alysia was working on the laptop trying to stop the timer and open up all the blocked exit access. “HOW THE FUCKING HELL SHOULD I KNOW!!!” She shouted, feeling a bit stressed.

 

“Hey everyone.” Yugi said as he, along with the Pharaoh, came around the corner of the truck.

 

Everyone sighed in relief.

 

“The next time you scare us like that again…” Malik said, with the sleeping Marik resting on his shoulder, but before he said anymore…

 

“Five minutes to self-destruction.” The voice boomed out.

 

“I'll drive!” Alysia announced happily, which gave everyone a strange look towards her.

 

“You know how to drive Alysia?” Moukaba said, astounded.

 

“I've been jacking cars since I was five.” Alysia replied, then turned her attention towards Ryou. “Hand me the keys.”

 

“They're at the front.” Ryou said.

 

After that, Alysia got out of the truck with Moukaba following behind her.

 

“Where are you going Moukaba?” Yugi said as he settled on his spot and covering the Pharaoh, who is asleep, with blankets.

 

“Someone's gonna show Alysia where to go.” Moukaba said as he hopped out of the truck and closing it.

 

Kia turned on an electronic lamp, which filled the whole place with light.

 

“How old did you say she was?” Malik asked Yugi.

 

“Thirteen.” Yugi replied as he held onto the Pharaoh's shoulders.

 

“She's as crazy as I am.” Malik said with a smirk, which made everyone sweat drop.

 

~Driver's seat~

“One minute to self-destruction.”

 

“Whatever.” Alysia said as she settled in the driver's seat, but then heard a passenger door open and Moukaba quickly got in and settled himself. “What do you think your doing?” She asked.

 

“You need someone to show you around Domino.” He said, flushing a little.

 

“Why would someone show me around a pizza place?” She said as she started the truck and stepped on the pedal a bit to hard.

 

“Huh?” He asked before he held on for dear life.

 

“ROAD TRIP!!” She said as she sharply turned the corner, which, at the same time, the lab self-destructed.

 

The others were bracing themselves and their look-alikes as much as possible.

 

“If we make it through this,” Malik said, “remind me to ask her to a spar sometime.”

 

Everyone rolled their eyes at that statement.
